Is that true? If so, that is absolutely incredible.
However, I am pretty sure we can guess where all that money goes. The establishment doesn't want an educated and inquisitive population.
I misread, the Defense Ministry does not have the 2nd highest money allocated, I was reading an article for the 2019 budget which I skipped the Interior Ministry (2nd highest allocated), and Finance Ministry (3rd highest on the list).
For 2020 its as follows:
- The Education Ministry at 368 billion baht
- The Interior Ministry at 353 billion
- The Finance Ministry at 249 billion
- The Defence Ministry at 233 billion
- The Transport Ministry at 178 billion.

Free car wash, does not mean cleaning the engine bay. What ford promise to clean was the AC unit, again not the engine bay.
But given the circumstance and what happened, yes its general knowledge that they should have at least wipe the engine cover clean before returning car due to all the issues. But this is amazing thailand, many times things are not suppose to be logical.

plastic or steel bumper? you can't really fix a plastic bumper. To paint a bumper would cost around 3-6000 baht. I think its better than wrapping it which would cost about the same. Low quality wraps don't last long.
You will need to get it fix yourself before most wrapping place will wrap it. Most wrapping places won't go out of the way to fix your bumper for you.

What most folks don't know is that the Education Ministry has the biggest budget out of all ministries in Thailand. More than double the 2nd largest money allocated for the Defense Ministry. Simply mind blowing...and look at the sad state of the schools, teachers, and quality.
In fact, what Thailand spends on education is more than what many developed western nation spends!

I have heard of two international preschools planning on opening on July 1st in Bangkok. The big international schools have not said anything yet.

According to whom? Which of the parents has British citizenship? as Far as I'm aware he's Australian, she's South African.
Guessing the mom has PR or they call it "settled status", if so the kids can automatically get citizenship.

Schools are closed till July. Normal won't be until schools are allow to open. I'm guessing it would be towards end of the year, but they can't open up the borders. Once they allow flights in without 14 day quarantine, the infection rates will go up again.

I read the test kits costs around $170 usd which comes with 100 tests this is one made by a German company. Then there is the charge of processing the swab to analyze the result, this is the slow bit as you need to run it through a machine. But it doesn't need to be expensive, the test is cheap itself.

The professor who was interviewed on TV news here in Australia mention your points. She also mentioned that many drugs had some success with SARS and the speed/extend of new infections reduced fairly quickly and the drugs being tested were never explored properly.
Yesterday on the ABC news here in Sydney a journalist asked the national chief medical offer to comment on the news about re Ivermectin. He quickly commented that he had seen the interview and he had followed up quickly to offer whatever support might be helpful to the researchers in Melbourne and he hopeful that approval would come quickly to start live testing.
On another news channel another research professor also spoke positively re Ivermectin and also mentioned that so far it's seen as a possible treatment but a vaccine is still needed urgently.
For the SARS drug, I read that the virus went away quickly before pharmaceutical companies saw a need to develop the a drug for it as it was not profitable. It seems like it would be good for organizations like WHO or government to support the development of these drugs.

Good point, this drug was fully approved some 30 years ago for human beings, taken by many people in many countries and very few and limited side effects recorded.
And yes it's also an approved veterinary medicine.
I remember there were Thai doctors giving HIV drugs which they said was effective. Some HIV coctails contain Ivermectin also. This was forwarded to WHO, but nothing is heard of it being tested further. This is not new news, they also gave SARS patients this cocktail back then, and they said they had some success. Not sure how true it is, but wouldn't be surprise if it works. Shouldn't be bad if administer in correct dosage.

I heard they even do pick up and drop off for their service now. They are reliable and has lots of good reviews.

If there is a curfew, it will only be for the rest of non-essential businesses that are open such as offices and non food / medical related stores.
Factories may be able to operate if they are related to essential service such as food / medical related.
Gas stations may be able to open.
I think majority of the factory can still continue to open (again this is just my opinion). Once you close down the crowded areas that uses public transport, it will drastically reduce the cases. Factories will close as a last resort as its the last life line of Thailand, if factories close all the low income workers will be out of work - not to mention the hundreds of thousands of migrant workers.
So I think only offices will close for the next step of curfew.

yes its public information, a tip is always welcomed or they may not let you see it depending on the land department

That looks like the Khlong Toei market which is usually crowded with buyers and sellers. It won't be good if it spreads from seller to seller there.

Why are they using forehead thermometers on ears?
I've also seen people attaching the forehead thermometer on the forehead to get the reading, the infrared forehead thermometer should be used as contact-less reader.
I've seen a dual use forehead and ear infrared thermometer. But to get an accurate reading on the ear, there is a cone shape insert that you are suppose to put inside the ear, not measure from outsiide like the picture.
These folks are really stupid, tit....

high income nation with the national education average as bad or even worse than a third world country!
Thailand's Education Ministry has the most budget in the country compare to other ministries, Thailands education budget is also one of the highest around the world believe it or not.

When its not burning season, the air is pretty good even in the middle of Bangkok. Authorities just needs to crack down on farmers who burn the fields since it is cheaper and faster. I'm sure they all know the problem, its they can't get police to crack down on it.

chill out folks, baby step baby steps. Thais are not that bad, they just need a little push to get stuff done.

FF seems to be dreaming too much.... with the current structure of the country. The military is used to protect everything and there is a huge power shift going on this year. Some regiments of military has been transferred under private control.

I suggest you review who the city is beginning to hate. The latest mob thug attacks on school kids, the setting alight of citizens who disagree with the thug protesters, the attacking of police with iron bars, the constant out of control rioting is far removed from the peaceful protests of months ago. It is now what it was always going to be when the hardcore backbone of mobs run riot. There is a significant swing occurring against these thugs.
As much as I support HK protester with their agenda, those violent protesters have seriously gone overboard with their actions, beating up folks who simply wants to get on with their lives, and setting a person on fire...
I imagine its only a matter of time before soldiers roll in and a curfew will be imposed. There is no winning, China is too strong and powerful. Hong Kong accounts for less than 3% of Chinas GDP. China can squeeze HK until its last drop of blood.

Ekkamai residents fight plan to build 43-storey ‘Impression’

There are a handful of new condos going up on ekamai right now. Sukhumvit 61 is not a narrow road by any means. As much as I dislike all the new condos going up, they do have the right to build.
My guess is that this influential lady owns the house right across from the condo and does not want a huge condo overlooking her house.
