  1. I am totally amazed at the system here in the LOS? I have great respect for the law and generally for the Policeman who run it, but they have to earn my respect by obeying the law. In my country a misdeed like this one would after investigation that all the police officers involved would certainly lose their jobs and maybe their pensions? The new regime would be advised that for the public to respect the law then police officers should uphold it without bias or predjudice irrespective of the individuals position within the police force. They government wants the public to do away with corruption, but while the public see this sort of thing going on and nothing happening, then why should they?

Just what is an inactive post, can anbody explain that?

Since I have been here in the LOS, a number of years, there as been a lot of police and government people given inactive posts, does this mean all these people just sit around doing nothing. Idle minds spell out mischief?

  2. When you want keep cats out of your garden, you must use only a littel bit oil .

I don't know the English word for this oil but in Latin its Oleum animale foetidum crudum

Maybe you can find an English website with the keyword oleum animale ( i can tell you the odeur is terrible) also I dont know where you can find this in Chiangmai.

When you use this you never have problems with cats or dogs

The translation of Oleum animale foetidum crudum is "Oil stinky raw animal"

  3. Anyway 90% of helmets on sale in Thailand are just useless when riding a motorbike. They look more as bicycle helmets

'Anyway', some protection is better than none at all.

What does the Thai authorities appreciate more than anything "MONEY" I wonder how much the Thai government would save each year for hospitalization of injured (head damaged) motorcyclist /passengers who did not wear their crash helmets?

  4. I recently stayed in Bangkok for a couple of weeks at a hotel down Sukhumvit Soi 4. Because I am a smoker I have my breakfast outside in the designated area, whilst doing so I was amazed to witness the actions of the Taxi drivers who were parked (in a no parking area) opposite the Hotel. These drivers were touting for business from people staying at the Hotel and at passing tourists, and were only interested in long haul journeys, refusing short journeys. To my amazement I witnessed on a couple of occasions where a Police Motor Cyclist stopped and tried to move them on but to no avail. While dealing with the Taxi drivers, one of them had called somebody? the Taxi driver hand the phone to the policeman, words were said and the only movement was of the Policeman leaving?

I believe the NCPO is doing a decent job but to stamp out corruption it's the bigger fish that need to be cleaned out.

A Policeman trying to do his job only to be told by somebody with more authority to move on??????????
