  1. Dear people I would like to share thanks for the exceptional service that has been provided by Mr. Supatat off the Royal Thai Embassy me and my wife.

My wife is disabled and very ill and was unable to travel to the embassy. She had no valid passport and her identification papers were lost, she also had no registation in Thailand because of her parents' house where she was registered was sold.

Because of her health she had to travel to Thailand urgently, where she could be better served.

Whe contacted the Royal Thai Embassy in The Hague and spoke to Mr. Supatat, who was willing to listen to our problem.

He told us that this was a extraordinairy situation, and that he would see what was possible to help us.

The same day he called back and said that he could help us, whe needed to send him all nessecarry papers and he would provide her a travelpermit to Thailand.

Whe where very surprised that at the end of the week whe got a phonecall from Mr Supatat would come by our house with the nessecary papers that would allow my wife to travel back to thailand.

The next week Mr Supatat and one colleague of the Royal Thai Embassy visited our house and provided the travelpermit for my wife.

Whe are so very gratefull for this extraordinaire service provide by the staffmember, that whe want to express our thanks with this letter.

My wife is now back home in Thailand and her health is improving.

Words cannot express how gratefull whe are for service provided and wish to share this to all people in Holland who have a Thai partner to show that the staff of the Royal Thai Embassy is willing to solve all problems that can arise for the Thai people in Holland. Yours cincerely, Leo <removed> ans Rabiab <removed>

  2. i have read my books already 3 times and are now in my fourth tour tru my collection :)

    <script type='text/javascript'>window.mod_pagespeed_start = Number(new Date());</script>

I still prefer real books over e-books, got me a great collection of over 3000 fantasy books in english that will go with me to thailand.

would hate it to left my first editions behind.

Sounds like a pain in the ass. Just think if you could put all those books on one device. After all, isn't the purpose of reading to actually read the books rather than glamorize about them and stare at them on a shelf?

  3. That would technically be the same as being married twice which is not truly legal.

What you should do is go to the embassy and do a self certification of your marriage certificate by doing a statement that it is true and correct. Then you take that and your marriage certificate to a translator and have them translated to Thai. Then have the translation certified by the Ministry of Foreign affairs (translator can get this done for you).

After that you go to an Amphoe and register your marriage. They will then issue a Kor Ror 22 foreign marriage registry that will be needed at immigration along with the translation of your marriage certificate.

Sounds right, not thought about being married twice to the same wife :)

So i must get a certified translation of my dutch marriage papers in holland.

Are there any other papers that need to be certified translations to obtain a marriage extension in thailand ?

  4. Hi,

I am leo from Holland and will retire in 2016, married in holland to a Thai wife for over 16 years.

Intend to emigrate to Thailand as soon i retire :)

I know that i have to get a 3 month o-visum in Holland and than ask for a marriage extension for a year in Thailand,

I got the following advice from a friend who already lives in Thailand with his Thai wife for over 6 years.

" legalizing marriage papers in the Netherlands is a hassle at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai Embassy in The Hague.

Upon arrival in Thailand, got to the Dutch embassy and get under presentation of your Dutch marriage papers an explanation to enter into a marriage in Thailand, cost a 1220 baht.

ask for an income statement, cost 1220 baht
Annual statement of the previous year is sufficient, if necessary a statement in English..
If I'm not mistaken, you can do use the annual statement as the month specification.

Then go with yours wife to the amphur and get married there for the cost of 150 baht.

Will get Kor Ror 2 and 3, than reply for an extension of stay."

I want to know if this information is correct ?

  5. today got a message from a friend who is already 7 years in thailand lives with wedding extensions!

    Hello Leo

Following our email exchange I still but here and there asked around about how your extension of stay for marriage can obtain precise.

Another Dutchman, properly recoiled legalizing marriage papers in the Netherlands and the hassle at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai Embassy in The Hague, told me the following.

Upon arrival in Thailand, he went to the Dutch embassy and got under presentation of his Dutch marriage papers have an explanation to enter into a marriage in Thailand, cost a 1220 baht.

He has also asked for and received an income statement, without even meoten submit simple self-declaration, cost 1220 baht hereto anything.

Incidentally am asked in Khon Kaen for further evidence in the form of an annual statement to statement of the employer or pension fund, in English.

Regarding Spoorwegpensioenfonds you get this by mail, in English and free.

I understand that Su WAO or WIA receives benefits?

Annual statement of the previous year is sufficient, if necessary a statement in English questions.

If I'm not mistaken, you can do both the annual statement as the month specification. Via the Internet with the ID thingy this yourself,

Then he went with his wife to the amphur and is there for the cost of 150 baht married, has a Kor Kor Ror Ror 2 and 3 received and those papers in hand he has an extension of stay requested and got.

If you fall short on the income front, do not hesitate, please contact me.

    regards Hans

Is this possible and cheaper than existing Dutch wedding to translate / deed legalize ??
