  1. So, this guy, should have got on the internet or phone on the rig, or organised a yearly multi-travel policy, and bought a cheap travel insurance policy just to cover liability, medical and repatriation. The guy in the OP obviously didn't, and now asks for donations.

Of course, this depends if he was riding legally.

"Cheap travel insurance policy just to cover liability, medical and repatriation"? so how much does this cost, how long does it last, I need something like this but I stay here for a long time, 2 or 3 years sometimes, and I am over 50, where does one buy "Cheap" insurance? ...The guy needs help getting home, thats the bottom line, so he messed up and had an accident not his fault...yes in a perfect world everybody has good insurance, a good job, plenty of money and plenty to eat, so many Monday Morning Quarterbacks here, bla bla bla...

  2. C'mon. Give the guy a break. Who hasn't swung an anchor at a German tourist!!!?

LOL! one of the funniest comments on here! but one thing is for sure in all seriousness, why would anyone try to reason with the low life scum like these jet ski operators and similar Thai vendors, they view tourist same as dogs, best to walk away and find a better place to go for your holiday. The corruption and nonsense like this will never change...
  3. Can I transfer my number from AIS to True for use on prepay? I think that is my best option until I have an idea of what my data usage will be. I did the AT&T data estimator and I think I'll be around 1.5GB.

Yes, you can port your number from One-2-Call to TrueMove H Prepay. Only about 75% of the ports go through here, mainly owing to account issues or mismatches on account credentials, so you may want to update any registration credentials with One-2-Call sooner rather than later. You will lose any balance, have to pay a 99 baht service charge, and have to buy a new TrueMove H Prepay SIM, like the Smartphone SIM at 99 baht.

I wouldn't sweat the data threshold so much? But it may be a good idea to begin tracking your data usage with one of the many tools available, if your system doesn't already have that capability. You can always move up or down.

is porting still available, I ask at a True shop here in Pattaya yesterday and said cannot transfer my number from 1-2 call, maybe the guy did not understand or does not know and easier to say no instead of not sure?
  4. Phuket=turning into Pattaya sad.png

Pattaya more peacfull, and no tuk tuk and taxi mafia!

When considering Phuket, only Patong can be accurately compared to Pattaya, as both attract the same low lives and miscreants both local and foreign, the big difference being Patong is just one area of Phuket, an island that holds much more appeal than just for the travelling sex pest...it now attracts many budget tourists from all over the world that want a Thailand beach vacation that may not want to pay the more expensive costs of the Phuket area.

IMHO the establishment's lack of motivation to clampdown on the blight on Phuket that is Patong has led to this uneasy mix of tourist demographics and increasing crime rate. Pattaya doesn't have that problem - it attracts only one demographic, the sex tourist.

does not sound like you have been to Pattaya lately, it is full of Russian couples many with their children, also many Chinese and other Asian tour groups. But the "sex tourist" is becoming the minority, I know because I live here, "It attracts only one demographic, the sex tourist and Sex Pests" wow, very judgmental and just wrong...

  5. Death penalty, chai mai?

Sent from my i Phone 4S using Thaivisa Connect App

If they gave all the people who commit murder the death penalty the the population would fall 25% overnight

I was once (a long time ago in favor or the death penalty but no more) watch Kevin Spacey portraying Clarence Darrow in closing arguments on the Leopold and Loeb thrill kill case in 1924, it was one of the first cases in the U.S. dubbed the "Trial of the Century":

  6. "and assume that the greedy bankers will halve your income within a few months of your arrival." this statement I don't understand, how do bankers bankers have anything to do with your income, does this mean you made some bad investments or lost money in the the shares/stock market? There are no guarantees with investing unless you do a time deposit or what we call a CD in America. Sorry to hear about your misfortune, hope you can find work back home.

  7. I doubt we will ever get the true story, maybe related to inferior or counterfeit equipment:1989: A counterfeit bolt installed on the tail assembly of a Norwegian Convair 580 aircraft caused the death of 55 passengers and crew members as the plane crashed whilst flying from Norway to Germany.2002: The Italian law enforcement authorities discovered a big counterfeit airline parts ring that was selling substandard and unapproved parts to different airline companies. The unapproved parts were sold with falsified documents to state their airworthiness.http://counterfeitin...php?sec_=C&c_=6

There is a long history of counterfeit airline parts which are unapproved and substandard being sold to unsuspecting airline companies. The US have discovered a lot of fake products showing up in their navy and airforce aircraft. Going back to the 1970s the Federal Aviation Administration found counterfeit systems in Boeing 737 aircraft. In 2008 airline parts were reportedly found on sale at online consumer auction websites offering gears, flanges, gauges, radar parts and valves to buyers. Russian police have discovered criminal operations producing and selling civil aircraft parts. Back in the 1980s United States investigators discovered bogus spare parts in numerous helicopters in service in with NATO forces.Boeing recently reported that parts like rivets, nuts and fluid bolts are components which are easily replicated and sold. Other electronic components like semiconductors, resistors, capacitors, electronic assemblies, pumps, actuators, batteries, integrated circuits and materials such as titanium and composite chemicals are also commonly counterfeited.Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/5420203

  8. The Colonel claims that Mr. Hall is a well-known suspected drug dealer who would sell primarily to foreign customers.

This case will now be added to the two further cases which are outstanding and for now Mr. Hall will be held on remand pending a Court appearance.

I am not a detective , nor defending anyone, but i smell a rat for some reason.

Seems its only Colonel who is making claims with no evidence at all.

    The other 2 cases????

If i dare to speculate, i would guess someone did not pay off or pay enough and something else is going on

25.85g of “Ice” does not seem like a very big amount, and 3rd time caught? hummm? not sure whats going on here...

  9. Ive often wondered what colour normal magic is?? That aside its no dafter than tying ribbons round a tree cutting off a Rhinos horn or religion ( there managed to get that in again)

Probably some hospital worker has made a few bob. Is it immoral? no different to Tiger parts IMO.humans are obsessed with their own self importance and belief in nonsense.

    well said,

I always thought it was bad luck to be superstitious anyway...

  10. Now they are blocking Huffington Post on Pattaya Sophon Internet, I keep getting redirected to http://w3.mict.go.th/ and a blank screen, I don't get the it, why would they start blocking news sites and other innocuous sites like Yahoo sports fantasy football, the longer i live here the more confused i am about Thai logic...

also note talkingpointsmemo.com is blocked too... so much cow droppings.

    HP just start loading

update....now blocking 123greetings.com trying to send mothers day ecard,

  11. At 03:00 on May 9 the detectives traced Mr. Michael through his mobile phone number.
    Very interesting??

Cell phone companies can approximate your cell phone location by "pinging" it. When cell phones are turned on, they emit a signal. Cell phone companies can "ping" or contact the cell phone and discover the nearest tower the signal is coming from. Police and law enforcement use this method regularly to track down missing persons. So for future reference, if you're on the run, turn off your cell phone and take out the battery...

  12. ...both these people are low lifes,

Sorry for her death and condolences to her family.

Yet another UNBELIEVABLE post - are you engaging the parts of your brain that are responsible for thought when juxtaposing such phrases in a single paragraph ?

you have been baiting and trying to incite people with wise ass comments through out this entire thread, why are you so arrogant or do you just like trying to put others down to make yourself feel superior? I have no tolerance for jerks like you, I am just saying she was a low life but did not deserve to die. Not interested in reading any more of your bs...

  13. A real man should never raise his hand against a woman, for any reason or to any extent.

Different culture different rules. Outright punching a woman in the face or beating her senseless is barbaric. There's nothing wrong with a slap now and then when she develops an attitude to show who's in charge of the household. I believe Aristotle put it best, women are halfway between children and men. The western world is too politically correct now but back then this wasn't frowned on and women still appreciate a man who can stand up as a man and not be henpecked by them. I know what people will say about this already but it's true.

the thing is, if he would have just slapped or hit her, she might have come after him and hired someone to either kill him or beat him to a pulp...both these people are low lifes, he could have cut his losses and walked away but let his emotions get the best of him. Sorry for her death and condolences to her family.

  14. i think the wife and the tomboy have a full on relationship thats been going on for some years. the husband is just the meal ticket.

i spoke to a thai man the other day whos wife is living with a farang for 3 years he told me that when she has got enough money from him she will come back to him. same same for lesbien its not just about the money its all about the money.

    tit

Farang men need to understand there is no real love for them (95% of the marriages) and they fund the Thai wife's life and family on multiple levels, houses, cars, motorbikes, ,medical expenses, list goes on and on. I have one friend that is near the age of his wife and they share expenses and she works a good job, but this is an exception. Most Farang are simply being fooled and taken to the cleaners. I would never marry or live with Thai girl (again), the cultural difference is too vast, and if I was the husband in this case, no way I would put up with this non sense and they would both be gone...and what this Thai guy says about his wife coming back after a few years is so true, I have known cases where old Farang with much younger wifes leave them after 7 or 8 years (after draining the bank account and saving up some big money) and the husbands are in shock, as the girl just ups and leaves (or kicks him out of his own house he bought in her name) after she can't take any more of the drunk fat slob and moves on...and he is left wonder what the F happen, I thought she loved me?

  15. one of the reasons i moved here, cheap taxi service and no worries about drunk driving and being put in jail, in Texas your life is ruined for years with a drunk driving charge and conviction (i know from personal experience in 1994, on probation for 2 years with court and lawyer fees and had to report monthly and go to special classes for alcohol abuse, now it is even worse they send you to substance abuse counciling and it's expensive, they drug test you and your probation can be revoked if you test positive for drugs or alcohol), there is no reason to risk the life of others driving drunk...

  16. SONGKRAN: A festival that was originally designed to show respect has been perverted into an excuse for people to act like complete morons for an entire week. What is wrong with people, see this asshol_e spraying a lady driving a motor bike in the face at close range with a water cannon, he should be arrested for assault. But the mentality is, this is all done in "fun", She could have easily wrecked her bike and been seriously hurt. But, nothing will be done about this insanity. I really feel sorry for the 58 year old guy on his way to a funeral, I was once totally soaked about 10pm at night near Nana Plaza by an idiot like the guy who attacked him, he was just looking for a fight, I have never been so angry. He was a big Thai guy with long hair over 6 feet tall and much bigger than me, I calmed down and walked away but wanted to go back and for revenge:
