Is it 15 days or 30 days for UK passport holders as of now 2016?
I thought it was more good news for us Canadians but just someone posting on a very old topic.
It's still 30 days for UK passport holders

The 2400 baht includes transportation, Cambodian visa and 1 complimentary bottle of water. One stop on the way there and 1 stop on the way back. Visa exempt entries are free when entering Thailand so yes you can get a visa exempt entry which allows for 30 day and can also be extended an additional 30 days at immigration.
By this way can I also get a visa exemption when reentering Thai instead of a real visa if I want to stay only for 30 more days? (home country is qualified for 30 days exemption by land) Can you recommend me a company? For around 2400b you could go with a visa run company to Ban Laem. Quick and painless. Pickup is 5am at ONNut BTS Tesco. Back in Bangkok around 4pm

I have crossed through Lao 3 times in the past and have always had 20000b with me but have never once been asked to show proof of funds.

why not go to your immigration office here in Thailand first, and apply for a 30 day extension, and THEN you go abroad and get another 30 days VISA excemption...
Just a suggestion
Glegolo
It would appear he has already done that as he states 90 day SETV. But we know you only get 60 days on the visa and a 30 day extension.

When are you planning on going?Hi guys i am going to Laos soon to get a SETV so i was thinking if it´s worth the money to go with a visa company or is it easy to do it myself and approx how much money would i safe if it do it myself. Thanks
I've done it 3 times using a visa company and swear never again. I'm going in April between the 25th and 27th.
I'm doing it myself this time.

Possibly because work begins at 8 am here and it is clear that these Thai gentlemen are not going to said work. How is being drunk at 7am any different than being drunk at any other time of the day?
However, it may be his day off and he has been on the piss all night. (done it myself)
If however the op sees the same people pissed every morning, then yes, that is a concern. For whom I have no idea, nor do I give a <deleted>.
If he/she is drunk and it's not affecting me or mine, then so be it. More power to them I say. They clearly don't care, so I think the OP shouldn't either.
So work only begins at 8am in Thailand. No afternoon or nightshift here like in most of countries of the world. So the Japanese company my wife works for in Thailand which is open 24 hours a day 7 days a week, I guess they only have one 24 shift. Or maybe the folks at 711 start at 8 and work forever.
Really dude.

Is it so hard to understand, its called breaking the law? Also, if it wasnt such a big deal, why are the Thais cracking down on this?
This thread and the one that got closed down just shows the disparity between the good and bad farangs. It also should go far to disprove the rumor that all farang are good and law abiding citizens. It also goes to prove that some of the people that are first to bash their host the thais for stupid human tricks, are actually performing stupid tricks themselves.
There are no reasons for people overstaying, only excuses of irresponsible behavior.
Perhaps the people treat the law here like it's a joke?
I myself have made some statements here that I would not have made had this been Hong Kong for example.
Not that I have overstayed, but I don't throw stones at those who did either, when I am having a look around at what's happening in this "Amazing Thailand".
I am not suggesting by any means for anybody not to follow laws, but if some people here think that Farangs setting a good example is going to change Thai society, well....keep hoping that I guess.
Farangs setting a good example may not change Thai society, but bad farangs setting a bad example has and is changing the way Thais look at all farangs.

I came back to thailand aftera few days i am.allowed to change plans am i i can show you flight tickets everything..i am sorry that this is upsetting you..relax
In another topic you started 4 days ago you stated you were on a 40 day overstay and the police let you go fully aware you were on overstay and that you were heading to Bangkok to fly to Singapore and spend a week chilling, and now you're saying you're sitting in a go go bar which I'm pretty sure means you are still in Thailand. So either you're still in Thailand on overstay or completely full of s..t!!!Eljavaro yest its all true unfortunetlt.I dont think its lucky it cost me i was reckless. You are a good poster mate umlike some but these stories are all real.I have tried to post photo evidence but its against tv rules.
By the way i have no problems with the new rules.I just think some posters arebvery vindictive towards overstayers. At least you debate in a sensible no confrontational way
Sorry if spelling is off am in go go bar with a nice sort
Which is it?
Am I the only one that is seeing a pattern here.
Would love to see it, but most Importantly a current visa.
You can PM me if you so choose.

One guy that was contemplating about "getting out" in yesterday's thread that got deleted would be very interested in point 4.
But thanks for your contribution nevertheless.
Why did that post get deleted by the way?

Snakes inhabited this planet long before the Neanderthal but like today's Neanderthal they like to believe they and they alone own this planet. You should be so proud....

Having 2 tourist visas in your passport will have absolutely no bearing on getting a METV in Sydney.
The only way you will be refused a visa is if you do not meet the requirements for obtaining a METV. Check the consulate website in your area to determine if you meet those requirements.

How does a person go about making a complaint to Thai Visa about unfair practices performed by a moderator?
Cheers

So your missus has experience as a cashier and you seem to think that qualifies her to be a restaurant owner.
Hell why stop there. Why not just open her a Hedge fund business. Seems she's qualified for that as well.
Good luck with that.

I can confirm after speaking with two immigration officers at Pathumthani immigration today that when the new overstay rules come into effect next month that if you overstay less than 90 days and you turn yourself in the penalty is 500 baht per day to a maximum of 20000 baht same as before but only applied when leaving by air or land and does not affect you returning to Thailand.
If turning yourself in within say PathumThani immigration for instance you will still be sent to IDC and processed for deportation.

The 90 days report is free, except for getting to Immigration and back, and the time spent waiting. Remember that the office is closed for lunch between noon and 1:00 pm as the Thai government does not believe in or has not heard of staggered office hours. If going to Chiang Wattaner (?SP), you must go through to the front desk, inside where the report is made, fill out the appropriate form take that into the next room, obtain a numbered ticket then go into the reporting room. Sit down and wait until your number is called then take passport, report form and number to the right place and hand everything over. The reporting is now all computerised and take but a minute or two to complete. You will receive a small printout to be kept in your passport just in case anybody wants to check you out, if you know who I mean.
You're getting way of topic here in answering a simple question being asked by the OP.
I don't understand why you're comparing tourist visa requirements with Non O-A retirement extensions.
Two compleyely different processes.
If he is on a tourist visa which it sounds like he is, considering he mentioned a 30 day visa extension then he does not have to report to immigration. So why even bring it up.
To the OP
If you plan on overstaying by 4 days I highly recommend you go to immigration and apply for another 30 day extension at 1900 baht which will be declined. They will stamp your passport stating the extension has been denied with the depart by date which will allow you 7 days to leave the country.

Elviajero is 100% correct in his advice about the denial of an extension allowing you 7 days to leave the country.
Certainly a better option than risking being apprehended on an overstay and having to go to IDC.

It doesn't matter which page the visa is on as immigration will look through your passport to locate places to put your entry and exit stamp.
Example. When I first came to Thailand the immigration officer at the airport skipped a page when he stamped my visa exempt. When my passport was finally full and I went to immigration for an extension of stay they just looked through my passport and found the first visa page empty and stamped it there.
Don't worry about it to much.
-
One can also stay a full year using tourist visas with extensions and visa exempts for a 3rd of that price.
-
Probably a good option if you live in Chang Mai as that seems to be where the school is located.

You can have the last word on this silliness. Ba-bye....
Critical thinking not your strong point i see.
I do apologize. That was neither called for or helpful.
Is that better to clear an overstay at Suan Phlu Immigration vs At the airport?
