This insurance non sense (scam) needs to end now! I am about to enter Thailand for the 4th time since November. While the insurance requirements have been reduced, the price keeps increasing. I purchased the AXA insurance each time. The December policy was for 25 days while the rest were for 15 days.
November 2021 - 1,540 Baht
December 2021 - 2,250 Baht
March 2022 - 1,750 Baht
May 2022 - 2,450 Baht
The policy ThaiPass is pushing is cheaper but needs a 14 day waiting period or covid test 72 hours prior to effective date. Ridiculous.
For entry next week I only need it for 10 days. Any suggestions on a policy? Like the past policies, I have zero intention of using it.

What happens if you're applying for Thailand Pass now but stubbing in March as I am (March 9)?
Just submitted my TP application today for March 5th arrival. 5th night booking still required as of 6 hours ago. Guess I'll be asking for my non-refundable night back after March 1st.

I see an article in the BP stating Anutin wants T&G back on February 1st if approved.
So they actually killed T&G off for six weeks. What did this accomplish except mass confusion and stress.

One state in Australia has managed to keep even omicron out due to strict border controls and restricting movement for the unvaccinated. The other states are a mess where they decided we needed to live with this and now their economies are collapsing. Nobody wants to go shopping or visit high risk venues.
That's cool. Stay locked away forever. Lockdown = financial suicide. No lockdown = prosperous.

Why is Thailand and the world for that matter kissing China's red rear end? They have caused havoc and destruction across the world after letting that pesky lab generated virus slip loose.

The logic is pretty obvious. They don't want to inconvenience people who have put their money down. The rest can take the risk or defer.
I think you are missing my point. If I booked, let's say 4 T&G trips and received QR codes for all trips before December 22nd I am less dangerous of infecting others than if I booked T&G 2 weeks before my flight? 3 PCR tests in 8 - 9 days seems adequate to show I'm not infecting others.
I've already had covid twice and I'm still alive. It's time for the world to learn to live with this!
-
So let me get this straight. If I booked multiple T&G trips prior to the December 22nd cut off I would be considered "safe" under T&G but if I wanted to apply today I am not longer "safe" and need 7 days in hotel jail. This is where logic fails.

Amazing times we live in when some think not wearing a nearly useless mask should lead to deportation.

I have now entered on T&G twice since November. Currently in Thailand and my wife was going back to the U.S. with me in a few weeks as we are buying a house there. Now need to rethink or gamble on what entry restrictions will be like at the end of February. They certainly don't make advance planning easy.
I had covid for the second time 12 days ago, must have been Omicron, felt bad for about 18 hours then fine. Managed to test negative 6 days later to fly to Thailand and tested negative again under T&G. Heading for the second PCR test on Wednesday.
This madness needs to end not only in Thailand but worldwide.
-
Guess the government paid PCR test on days 5 -7 for current T&G holders was getting too expensive.

Any idea how the day 6 / 7 PCR test works? Coming back this week and some official info would be useful.

What a potential mess for me and my wife. We would have been back from the U.S. yesterday after 23 days here. She got covid 2 days before departure, fully vaxxed with the AZ vaccine. Took her for monoclonal antibody treatment 3 days ago, she rebounded 2 days after treatment. Was able to change return flight, hotel, and my AXA covid policy dates with relative ease. AXA was a bit of a pain tried to call in, press 9 for English and got nothing but Thai. Had to email and they reissued a certificate in 2 days. We are now due back in Thailand on Dec 31st. I am thankful that it happened in the U.S. instead of testing positive in Thailand and then being shipped off to a hospital. So far, I continue to test negative. I had covid 18 months ago and vaccinated 8 months ago. Guess natural immunity is a thing.
I reapplied for both our Thailand Passes this morning. Hers came back within 4 hours mine will probably take days.

I'm on my 7th day so I did the at home Antigen test in my hotel room. I read here that some of the Test & Go hotels wanted the result so I emailed mine (JW Marriott Bangkok), and this was their reply:
Please be inform that there will be no request to show ATK result to Hotel anymore just stay healthy
It's one of the biggest hotels in the country and has had their <deleted> together every step of the way, so I'm just going to go with that and not report. As I mentioned before, nobody told me to install that tracking app, so I'm not doing it in the either.
I return home Wednesday morning so I'll report if there are any issues then, but I really doubt it.
I used the Westin as my test & go hotel. Was told to upload my test to the app which of course does not work. I emailed my test result to the hotel and received a thank you message back in 10 minutes, nothing more. I'll be going through this process with my wife in 3 weeks on the way back from the U.S. Debating the Westin again or JW. Took my covid test at 1:30am and got my negative release at 9am. I am heading back Thursday with my wife for 22 days.
On a side note, people who are trying to go cheap on these test & go places shouldn't be surprised with the results. It's a get what you pay for situation. I paid for the Westin - private car from BKK, no waiting, test result back in 8 hours, meal served at 1am, great room, and efficient staff. Expensive but worth it, was back home and reunited with my family by 10:30am. Less than 12 hours from wheels down at Swampy to home.

When I used ‘this method’ (Alternative Quarantine method) I uploaded exactly the same documents (vaccine cert, 1 night AQ booking, Insurance).
1 night in quarantine on arrival was also stated in the ‘dates section’.
Approval was provided with those documents and based on that info.
I was very happy and relieved when receiving the confirmation QR based on this option 4 days before flight.
The alternative is waiting blindly and hoping - which for a family is not an option, especially in light of news that some (on other Thai forums) have had to cancel flights & received the QR after the departure of their planned flight.
I revered the ‘Exempt from Quarantine’ QR the following morning.
In hindsight, I’m still glad I had the ‘plan B’ option and have little doubt it would have worked without any issues.
Fair enough. Glad everything worked out but I could easily see 'plan B' having the potential for disaster.

Just now, DavidMS said:Great news! What’s your arrival date?
Departing on the 10th, late arrival on the 11th. Hotel said I can take my covid test at 6:30am Friday morning (12th) and I should be on my way by the afternoon. Only booked a 1 night package.

Success! Applied on November 2nd and received instant email on gmail at 8:30am US time. Used chrome in incognito mode, got the success message at the end of the application. Received QR code just after 1am Sunday morning, so just short of a 5 day wait. Only submitted 1 application. Used a US CDC card with my passport number added to it. I had the one shot J&J so that was recognized without issue.

The QR code generated by CLEAR is time limited. If you try to scan it after a certain amount of time, it will say that it's expired. You then have to restart the CLEAR app and generate a new code.
JGA
I saw that is is only valid for a day. If it generates an instant approval then at least I have that. I can deal with the rest at the airport. Not likely doing the 10 day AQ option just to get a code.

Glad to hear some approval success stories. Applied Nov 2nd and received confirmation email right away on gmail. Still waiting on QR code, fly on the 10th. If I do not receive confirmation in the next 24 hours I plan to resubmit using my CLEAR generated vaccine QR code and see what happens.

They still haven't fixed this. I got this after submitting the first page that had my travel date on it. Using Chrome on an iMac.
I had the same issue. Try incognito mode in Chrome. I was able to successfully submit on the 1st try. Unfortunately no code yet after 3 days.

Note: between the two tabs [Exemption from Quarantine (Test and Go)] and [Alternative Quarantine] there is no difference at all in layout, questions or documents required / submitted.
Were you still required to attach the proof of vaccination?

It's too bad they don't have a provision in the approval process to deal with people who have flights coming up within the next week. Logic would say approve the people flying soon first but TIT.

On the Morchana app, I am trying to enter my TP ID and it says Invalid...
Why are there several people fixated on the Morchana app? I do not see where this is required.

If I have passport and vaccination on laptop in PDF file, will Thai Pass accept them?
If not then what?
No. You will need to convert to JPG. There is an app for windows called "Any PDF to JPG". worked perfect for me.
Thailand Pass to stay, PM to oversee situation after end of "Test and Go"
