  1. This is just more example of shooting oneself in the foot theatrics. In addition in response to a post here, anyone who thinks its hard to start a business in the USA is simply ignorant. Thailand could learn a thing or two about supporting small business, ( the wealth creation, job creation engine of America) granted the Obama administration is NOT small business friendly, we will survive him, the USA is VERY friendly about business start-ups. You don't need licenses for most businesses, the paperwork can be done online in a day! . I have started several myself. C Corps, LLC's and sole proprietorship's. Thailand better get its act together, if they think forefingers have nothing to contribute and continue with these Xenophobic practices, they will loose big-time. I have heard the Philippines has recently removed many barriers to foreign investment? The USA has traditionally welcomed foreigners ...the USA IS foreigners! they are who made America what it is! I am deeply saddened by the ignorance I am seeing lately. I have been in Thailand since 1979, assists in AIDS crisis in the North creating jobs, helped create dozens of good paying jobs here in BKK more recently, I am looking for two more Java programmers as we speak...you want me to pack up and take my companies elsewhere..I wonder if my employees would agree with you. I really wonder how many Thai people really feel anti foreigner, or is it more form the elitist class who don't need to work, don't care about job creation or about middle class Thai opportunities? I am really starting to wonder.

  2. I went to see him yesterday morning and as ever he was exceptionally professional and sorted out a problem that has caused me a great deal of pain. To accuse him of being a criminal and amateur is churlish at the very least - sure he evidently bent the rules but he took his job seriously - he had had over 200 weeks of training in his home country with the diplomas to prove it. It is a real shame that Pattaya will now be deprived of the only decent chiropractor around - now any of us with back problems will have to go to Bangkok - a journey in itself which is likely to give you some! I am 69 years old and have been practicing various extreme sports at high levels for years and have had recourse to a lot of chiropractors and oesteopaths - Vince was undoubtedly one of the best and I was fortnate to find him. Good luck Vince!

All chiropractic is based on theory that has no scientific background, therefore any diagnosis made by this method is liable to be ill-informed. how can these people claim to be "professional" in any meaningful way?

I used to think Chiropractors were wannabe doctors...but then I went to one..he corrected a problem i had for years, one that my AMA approved doctor could not help with despite the AMA approved drugs. Sure there are some bad chiropractors but to say their methods are scientific is just not accurate. Some in the Western medical communities are recognizing the benefit of Chinese medicine..even though it not "scientific" my dear friend Dr. Laura Kragie wrote a book a few years ago, http://www.amazon.com/Rainbow-Bridge-Heaven-Earth-How-ebook/dp/B0081UEYIU Laura is one of the most distinguished "scientific" physicians/researchers in the world!

  3. This is a tricky subject, Asia in general had adopted Western standard for law that can at times be shortsighted. This might be an example. There is an old biblical saying "the letter kills yet the spirit gives life" (Semitic thought-form) In mainland China there are amazing practitioners who don't have licences. The idea of licences are a western concept. It seems that he should be judged by his actions. Why don't his happy customers hire him a lawyer and get him the credentials he needs. The bottom line if he is a capable guy with a needed skill set there should be a way to have him stay. I am not advocating lawlessness but once again this Aristotelian thought form that so many country s have swallowed hook line and sinker is really a shame, Asia has for centuries its own concepts of society. What we see now is rigid (Greek =; thesis anti thesis based logical structures) that can be counter productive. In my humble opinion a synthesis is best, a blend of Asia wisdom and western law. Is it not important for him to be judged first and foremost by his actions, his intent and his contribution to his community? What are the goals of the law anyway...to keep people from getting care?

  4. This is one of the things that can be solved..I came here first in 1979, Pattaya was a lot simpler then. This jet Ski scam is an embarrassment to Thailand. Same thing with motorcycle rentals all over Thailand. Here the answer..Enlist a few operators with insured services, get the Thai police to back the program.( they are well suited to negotiate with the mafia influence)  This can be done through the gentle persuasion from the tourism ministry, advertise and promote these operators as legitimate companies.. Let the tourist know they have a choice to deal with reputable operators. Charge more, include insurance, and what ever fees the mafia needs to be satisfied...most tourists will choose to go with them...the slime balls will have to follow or go out of business! Let the mafia make their money...but take away the stain on Thailand.
