Good move but hopefully will not create or encourage more corruption!!!!

They would have been better off spending the money on trying to create a comprehensive transport system in Bangkok and beyond. They now have an old airport laying around, which seems to serve very little purpose. Still they know best and need listen to none but themselves
I think you should instruct them what to do. Seems like you know all about this.
I also think so......

Weird to see vehicles on the road without number plates. There was an instant where I saw one Honda Jazz. Putting up the number plate upside down and was parking at Chiang Mai Airport Plaza (Central Plaza). Was it done purposely and to irritate the authourity.

I fail to see the words 'owner' or 'owners' in that clip.

I don't have a telephone number for Jacky Bicycle, but I can tell you where it is. To quote the earlier message:
"jacky has moved to the street parallel with nimmenhaimin, between soi 13 and 15."
That's right. The street is one block closer to the old city than Nimmenhaimin. Just ride along Nimmenhaiman until you see Soi 13 or 15, turn, then turn again at the next intersection and you'll see Jacky before you get to the next intersection.
Thanks, I think I know where to find it now. I will post the telephone and address Once I found it. Thanks again for your help

With the aim of smoothing out the immigration process for many foreigners, Gen Chatchawan said that foreigners known to be honest, responsible and posing no threat to Thailand can be issued cards that will facilitate swift passage past immigration checkpoints.
I reckon I'd qualify for one of those...
Where do I sign up?

Maestro
There was some amendment to this section as what i was told by the local immigration here in Chiang Mai. They said that it will be out soon.
I just don't trust that officer. Further they are just rude, when you demanded to have a look at the new amendment/instuction/procedure.

I've Just been to my Local immigration office this morning to inquire about a Visa extension . I'm 41, Married to Thai, have 3 Children with dual nat. I mentioned The children several times in the conversation , hoping it could be in my favour, How I didn't want to take them out of school in Thailand at the moment as they are just getting to grasps with The Thai Language. He remembered seeing me out shopping with the Children previously, the conversation was going good or so I thought. It became obvious that he had no comprehension of my concerns for my children. It was MONEY, MONEY, MONEY all the way. I kept mentioning the new rule, about only needing to show 40K income. he kept mentioning 800 - 1 million Baht in a Thai Bank account and also 40K income certified by uk embassy at a costs of 2600 baht + translation , a 1900 baht fee for the extension, and then no guarantee I was going to get it. It was becoming clear that is was as clear as mud. either he didn't know about the new rules, didn't care about them or just wanted to give me the run around, either way I have no chance to put him straight without consequences and therfore have decided that I will investigate the ' Penang Multi-O' route, and give immigration a wide berth. Sometimes its hard to live in Paradise ;-)
The same things that happened to me when I went to Chiang Mai Immigration. This is what they demanded. (40K income per/month. - A letter from the Consulate or Embassy to confirm the income if the income is over sea). Why can't they paste the new regulation (if any) on their notice board or a handout the requirement in black and white when enquiries are being make. From the forum, it seem that every officer are difer from each other about the requirement.

Need 2 copies. One held by local Immigration office and the other goes to Bangkok HQ for approval. To me that a paper chase compared with the 'money-in-the-bank' route which only needed (in previous years !!)......
Copy my passport
Copy Wife ID
Copy marriage certificate.
Original letter from bank & certified copy of bank book.
Obviously there is also the application form and interview, which officer types up.
I have been following this discussion with interest as I am due to change from a Non.Imm."B" to a Non.Imm."O' in the next 5 months. I am 62, married to a Thai national and have been working for the last 5 years. However I plan to cease working (I have been paying taxes) and retire upcountry. I have more than the B40,000 a month income from outside Thailand but am curious as to whether the Thai immigration office on Suan Phlu will accept an affidavit (sworn by me at the Canadian Embassy)and proof of income (into a bank in Canada) or does the money actually have to be seen to be deposited in a Thai bank account every month (B40,000) ?
Any help?
A letter from your Canadian Embassy to certified your income is enough.
deposited in a Thai bank account every month (B40,000) ? - not required.
-
40,000 Baht income. Prove by getting letter from embassy.
I was told the same thing when I was at the Chiang Mai Immigration today.
They said that they are not interested in the marrigae cert, no interested money in the bank and so on.
What they are interested is that produce evidence of your income per month.... minimum 40K per month.
-
RE isuued the same day in Chiang Mai.
1000 baht for single entry
3000 baht for multiple entry.
-
Currently, in Chiang Mai, they required evidence of personal income of minimum 40,000 baht income per month.
If no evident is produce, a letter from the applicant consulate confirmed the total income per month is accepted.
I was told they are not more asking how much money you have in the bank. That much I gather form the Immigration office today.
