  1. I don't have a telephone number for Jacky Bicycle, but I can tell you where it is. To quote the earlier message:

"jacky has moved to the street parallel with nimmenhaimin, between soi 13 and 15."

That's right. The street is one block closer to the old city than Nimmenhaimin. Just ride along Nimmenhaiman until you see Soi 13 or 15, turn, then turn again at the next intersection and you'll see Jacky before you get to the next intersection.

Thanks, I think I know where to find it now. I will post the telephone and address Once I found it. Thanks again for your help :)

There was some amendment to this section as what i was told by the local immigration here in Chiang Mai. They said that it will be out soon.

I just don't trust that officer. Further they are just rude, when you demanded to have a look at the new amendment/instuction/procedure.

  4. I've Just been to my Local immigration office this morning to inquire about a Visa extension . I'm 41, Married to Thai, have 3 Children with dual nat. I mentioned The children several times in the conversation , hoping it could be in my favour, How I didn't want to take them out of school in Thailand at the moment as they are just getting to grasps with The Thai Language. He remembered seeing me out shopping with the Children previously, the conversation was going good or so I thought. It became obvious that he had no comprehension of my concerns for my children. It was MONEY, MONEY, MONEY all the way. I kept mentioning the new rule, about only needing to show 40K income. he kept mentioning 800 - 1 million Baht in a Thai Bank account and also 40K income certified by uk embassy at a costs of 2600 baht + translation , a 1900 baht fee for the extension, and then no guarantee I was going to get it. It was becoming clear that is was as clear as mud. either he didn't know about the new rules, didn't care about them or just wanted to give me the run around, either way I have no chance to put him straight without consequences and therfore have decided that I will investigate the ' Penang Multi-O' route, and give immigration a wide berth. Sometimes its hard to live in Paradise ;-)

The same things that happened to me when I went to Chiang Mai Immigration. This is what they demanded. (40K income per/month. - A letter from the Consulate or Embassy to confirm the income if the income is over sea). Why can't they paste the new regulation (if any) on their notice board or a handout the requirement in black and white when enquiries are being make. From the forum, it seem that every officer are difer from each other about the requirement.

  5. Need 2 copies. One held by local Immigration office and the other goes to Bangkok HQ for approval. To me that a paper chase compared with the 'money-in-the-bank' route which only needed (in previous years !!)......

    Copy my passport

    Copy Wife ID

    Copy marriage certificate.

Original letter from bank & certified copy of bank book.

Obviously there is also the application form and interview, which officer types up.

I have been following this discussion with interest as I am due to change from a Non.Imm."B" to a Non.Imm."O' in the next 5 months. I am 62, married to a Thai national and have been working for the last 5 years. However I plan to cease working (I have been paying taxes) and retire upcountry. I have more than the B40,000 a month income from outside Thailand but am curious as to whether the Thai immigration office on Suan Phlu will accept an affidavit (sworn by me at the Canadian Embassy)and proof of income (into a bank in Canada) or does the money actually have to be seen to be deposited in a Thai bank account every month (B40,000) ?

    Any help? :o

A letter from your Canadian Embassy to certified your income is enough.

deposited in a Thai bank account every month (B40,000) ? - not required.

  6. Currently, in Chiang Mai, they required evidence of personal income of minimum 40,000 baht income per month.

If no evident is produce, a letter from the applicant consulate confirmed the total income per month is accepted.

I was told they are not more asking how much money you have in the bank. That much I gather form the Immigration office today.
