  1. Hi,

I left Thailand in June 2020 and have just returned this week and seen I have a letter for a tax refund.

Does anyone have experience of cashing the letter in for the refund?

One problem I see is that some sites say you need a tax ID card but I don't have it. Is it 100% needed and if so how do I get a replacement, I no longer work in Thailand and just here for a holiday.

    Thanks

  2. You can get it emailed to you either user the app to send an email or login online and send an email.

As for eVisa - had a SETV take 2 working days.

I feel the same way. Application under review. Email sent automatic reply. Phone lines not taking calls, Sat 1500 GMT Friend in Thailand tried to call, all lines busy messages full. I discovered that my NHS app has a QR code which probably explains the delay. After thirty minutes listening to "thank you for your patience" and musak I ordered a QR code by snail mail from the NHS, why the hell can't they use an email?
I am going to do nothing more, if I don't get a reply from Immigration before I get the final PCR on Sunday I shall abandon the plan.  I have already checked with the hotel they will refund those costs.  The travel agent says that the insurance and air ticket will be lost, I will try for that but if it's as frustrating as the last week I am not sure that I will try too hard.  I am very disappointed, in sixteen years of dealing with Immigration I have never had such a frustrating experience.

Naturally he needs a Thai bank account in his name only.

Does he have Thai bank account?

Everyone, thank you for the information so far with the funding dates, that make's things much easier. As for the bank account no he doesn't have one and that is going to be the next hurdle he has to jump through. Can't have a visa without a bank account, can't have a bank account without a visa, TiT. ???? I am hoping Bangkok Bank HQ in Silom will be happy with just a certified passport copy.

  4. Hello,

Currently trying to help my Uncle with his visa, he is based in the UK and wanting to retire in Thailand, looking to do the SETV route but might be too late in the day and so I have a question on timings.

I understand it's possible to change a visa exemption to a NON-O in country when 15 days are remaining, but at that point how long does the 800K have to have been in the account, is it the full 2 months or is the 2 month requirement only for the 1 year extension of the Non-O?

  5. Hello,

I am in the process of moving from the UK to Bangkok to work for a BOI company, I'm lucky enough to have a friend who owns a condo in Bangkok who is working in Europe for the next few years and said friend is allowing me to stay in his condo rent free, I just need to pay the bills etc. The issue is, I've been reading all about the TM30 but having trouble working out how I can handle it in the situation of a long term absent landlord.. for example I won't have a rental contract as I will be staying as a guest and he isn't present in Thailand.

Anyone have any ideas on how to handle this, also apart from the TM30 anything else that might need to be considered for this living situation?

    Thanks

  6. Hello

I am a UK citizen heading to Thailand on Friday for 3 weeks whcih I belive I am fine to do with a Visa Exemption that gives 30 days? I was hoping to fly over to Siem Reap for 3 days to visit Angkor Wat,but with all the news about the visa changes etc I've got rather nervous about leaving and coming back, will there be an issue with re-entering Thailand on my return from Siem Reap?

    Thanks
