I would never become veggie - that would mean giving up certain things I like to do with my Thai boyfriends, if you catch my drift ????

Serious question. Does it have to be Asia?
I spend a lot of time in Portugal and it will tick a lot of your boxes. You can also get a 5 year residency certificate too which could come in handy long term once Brexit has kicked off.
Of course the female opportunities are 0.1% compared to Asia. The locals are not the prettiest! It also has a winter.
SR would be a good bet. Yes there is a bit of hustle and bustle in the centre but I find people there way friendlier than Thais and they speak better English.
Da Nang would be a good bet too. Hoi An is totally overrun by Chinese tourists now. Unfortunately much of SE Asia is going that way. I try and avoid places where Chinese tourists can visit visa free but their options are widening. Luckily they tend not to go off the beaten track too much with their herd mentality.

I would not stay anywhere.
With that sort of cabbage I'd move around with the high seasons.
Jan - Mar Aus,NZ or SE Asia
Apr - May Vietnam, Bali
Jun - Aug Europe/USA
Sep - Japan, Taiwan, HK
Oct - Dec , Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia

A technology role and they want you to post your resume in the mail? I wonder if the accept faxes?

I would never buy gold here.
I don't trust any Thais and particularly those involved in precious metals!

Shame you couldn't hack it.
Truth is Thailand doesn't need you. It doesn't need any western falangs now that half of China have rocked up with all their shady money.

Your choice of words suggest you like a bit of short time love.

Talking of Chinese. #1 reason why I might leave this region.
I have been looking at countries that have strict visas for Chinese as somewhere to go.
It's only going to get worse here with 1.4 billion of them looking south!

Are kathoeys included? If so, then I'd say the best thing are the expert hand shandies these freaks give.
I'd never go back to women for a shandy!
P.s. I am no anal assassin!

Most countries limit tourists stays to 6 months why should Thailand be any diferent?
Because the Thai loves Farang!
I see many taxis with a sticker stating the very words, so it must be true.
They need us tourists. They can't live off rice exports!

and what really pisses me off is the indignant pose they adopt when questioned about
sitting for hours on one coffee or water, as if it is their god given right to free air-con
and internet/wifi and a comfortable free office for the day and the next day and the next
day. Students and backpackers are not in the same league as professional digital
parasites, they generally understand they are occupying revenue generating seats and
will move to help the business ,when asked.
You sound very bitter.
Maybe you should try and earn some extra money online to bolster your shrinking UK pension?
You might scrape enough together for a night out at the 7eleven with your friend Leo.

An easy fix just have a system in place where max usage is an hour or so, something like Starbucks and others doMany nomads will use their own wifi via 4G tethering. Often faster than the sucky wifi on offer anyway!

Very romantic sounding "digital nomads " they should be called " Digital Parasites"
Swanning into cafe's and restaurants assuming it is their right to occupy the largest
tables required for all their paraphernalia, ordering a coffee or water and sitting for
hours making money on line at the expense of the owner who supplies them with
a free air-conditioned office and when approached to move on write bad reviews
in retaliation, digital nomads my rear end parasites nothing more.
When they start paying their way i will cut them some slack.
I'd imagine people would spend more if coffee shop owners were not so greedy. Thai students are worse.

.maybe you cut those "halfwit diving instructors" some slack too
No, because those scumbags are stealing jobs from locals.

No other countries do and I would n't blame them for working wherever they want, assuming they are in the country legally of course and not overstaying.
If someone on a two week vacation is checking their work email then should we expel them too?
What about somebody who blogs about their travels for their friends and family and then writes a book?
Where do you draw the line?
The onus is on governments to come up with proper visas for e-workers.

I don't understand what digital nomads are meant to do if they want to work from Thailand? There is no visa for them, so of course they will use Ed or Visa free entry.
They are doing more good than harm e.g. bringing money into the country that otherwise wouldn't be here. They pay tax whenever they make a purchase. They are not like these halfwits that work illegally at diving schools and they are not teaching English without the correct papers.
Good on them.
I think some of the members here should cut nomads some slack.

I can afford to live it up here, have a very nice big benefit cheque from the Aussie govt each month as I can no longer work. I also receive rent from my North Sydney house that will mean I'll never have to work again even if the govt cheques stop.
I could even afford to live back in Aussie but prefer the women in Asia and no I have never had to pay for them.

Give me Sizzler anytime, 170 bht for fish and chips plus all the salad and soupe you can eat.
Street food is for paupers and western losers.

People that post how great their expat lives are tend to be the ones who are homesick most. I feel sorry for them.

I wonder where you are going to head to when Thailand becomes too expensive for you like Spain did? (and it will)
Guess your options are fast running out, suppose you'll be living in some remote jungle and once you have annoyed everyone there (incl the monkeys) then you'll be sleeping on the streets in your home country begging for food.
Sad, very sad. Enjoy your pot noodle and porn tonight, have one for me lol

Don't listen to the bald guys on here! They are probably fat and unattractive anyway, so it would take more than hair to make a difference. They also probably can't afford it too!
Get it done, men look much better and younger with hair, plus it protects your scalp from the sun.
