It is on the correct forum now.
You will need a re-entry permit to keep your extension of stay (it is not a visa) based upon retirement.
There is a re-entry permit desk at the Poi Pet crossing but it is normally busy so expect a wait to get it.
Best to get the re-entry permit at your local immigration office. You can get a multiple re-entry permit for a fee of 3800 baht or a single for 1000 baht.
You will need to get a visa on arrival for Cambodia.
Thanks mate, just what I wanted to know, though not simple eh! Just fancy a couple of days away from Surin with the GF, but advice much appreciated.

I have a 12 month retirement Thai visa and want to pop over to Cambodia's Poipet casino resort for a couple of days. Do I need to sort out a re-entry permit at the border etc before I go and subsequently come back, I ask as I left for Europe earlier in the year for a few days and didn't get the re-entry permit and my retirement visa was cancelled so I had to start again when I returned.
Thanks in advance

That's good news John, I require it for some business abroad, so all I need to do now is try and find somewhere around Surin that can off such a service, I think I may need to go further afield in order to complete the task unless anyone knows of a translator service here in Surin city.

Hi Guys
I need my Thai "Proof of address" document to be officially translated into English and as I have been then asked, stamped by the Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs which means the translator should put their official Legal Seal on it. As I see that, a Notary stamp would suffice, but am open to anyone that knows better. I live in Surin which may cause a problem, but if I have to travel to get this done I will.
As ever, thanks in advance

Hi
I have a friend from Romania and she is looking to come over to Thailand after working five years in Spain, she has worked in Puerto Banus in clubs and bars as a hostess, bar work and dancer. Very good looking, not interested in the seedy side though.
Does anyone know where she might be able to get work over here, she is looking to come at the end of the month.
Cheers

If you are intent on a Thai based company then I would go for Thaihosting, Danish run, Bangkok based servers and been around for nearly twenty years now. I like the fact that you get Danish expertise and efficiency, at a more than reasonable Thai based price.
Check them out, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I can put you in touch with the MD if you want to have a chat about it, let me know.
Best of luck

Thanks for all the info guys, much appreciated, I think I will do the mini bus run as it's my first occasion, seems that after paying for the Cambodia entry visa there\s not a lot in it going it alone and I prefer the friction free visa rather than messing it up on my own. I don't know enough people to organize the car run, though maybe my next time it would be cool to rent a car and maybe stay over the border for a few days to check out Cambodia.

I should mention, I am living in Pattaya so the info is from leaving there and not Bangkok, sorry.

Hi
I am going to have to go to Cambodia this week to get my second entry on my 6 month 3 entry visa, can someone tell me where I get the bus and how the whole trip works including costs, eg Does the bus go over the border, or does it stop and wait for me and others to go across the border and come back etc.
Any help and advice much appreciated
PS I don't think I want to buy the 30 day extension on this occasion

I have a six month 3 entry visa issued in uk and came in on 8th July, I heard that rules regarding doing a same day visa run to Cambodia etc have been changed. Can someone give me the correct information as to what I need to do to go out and come back in to qualify for my second and third entries. I would like to do the quick out and in run, but do not want to get stuck in Cambodia on my re-entry.
Remember that each entry can be extended for 30 more days at any immigration office for Bt 1,900. That gives you 180 days in country with a single border hop, or up to 270 days with two.
Good to know Paz cheers. So in order to use that facility, I just need to go to the immigration office before my first entry runs out and then I presume they push back each subsequent one by the thirty days each time I do this.

Just have 20k baht with you in case you are asked to show it is about all you can do to prepared.
There have been no confirmed recent reports of anybody being denied entry when using another entry of their visa.
There have been no rule changes for tourist visa entries only visa exempt entries.
Thanks for the quick reply Joe, much appreciate the advice, will post back on here once I have done the run first week of next month, here's hoping!

Tourist complains about crowded visa office, shoddy treatment by Thailand

Really? At a time when every country in the world is trying, with varying degrees of success, to stop gatherings of people in an attempt to stem the tide of this Pandemic, the Thai government still want Farrangs to flout the rules in order to comply with the pathetic hunger for rubber stamps and more bits of paper to hoard somewhere in the annuls of god knows where. I feel sorry for both the Thai people that are forced to still work in Immigration offices and us "foreigners" who are being told we have to go there in order to comply with what is clearly an outdated requirement at this present time of crisis.
