  1. i'm looking for an email contact for Sripat / Maharaj Nakorn / Suan Doc Special Medical Services Clinic.

(those three are all the same place? 13th floor?)

had no luck using the search function, google gets me to their homepage with no contact email.

Kesini Mahawanchaem's direct number (mobile phone) is 08-1681-1616 and her e-mail is marketingcmed(At)cmed.cmu.ac.th

She is very good at following up with e-mail and I recomend you co-ordinate everything with her.

  2. I have been studying Thai for the past year and a half using Yai from Easy Study Thai. I have been very happy with her approach and ability to teach me Thai in the way that I process learning a language. I can now read and write a little bit and speak enough to have basic conversations with Thai strangers. The most difficult thing for me to learn is to understand what Thai people are saying to me. I learn visually and have a very difficult time picking up Thai words and processing them into sentences. Yai has been very patient and helpful with me on this. The other thing I really like is that she will use whatever textbook you request and she is familiar with most of them as well as having her own study materials. I have used four different books and have been able to adjust to what works for me.

Having studied other languages this is the first time I found a teacher where I felt I was really learning. Now if I would just study and practice more.

I believe Easy Study Thai has a website under its name.

PM me if you have further questions.

  3. I am a member at Hillside 4 Fitness Center, located at Hillside 4 Condo & Plaza. They are running a promotion for nonresidents of 6,000 baht a year, not sure of prices for other couples, families etc. I believe the promotional price is good through July. The gym is not great but it is certainly OK and the pool is quite nice. They also have a sauna.

  4. Security Screens are a great way to keep the bad guys out but be careful that you have a way out. You do not want to be trapped in a room if there is a fire. There are worst things than being robbed.

  5. There are lots of Honda dealers around Chiang Mai. I recently purchased a used 125 dream less than 2 years old from Honda dealer on Huay Kaew road between Super highway and Canal Road. Had very good experience, the few little promblems with the bike they fixed while I waited under warranty. I highly recomend them, not sure of name, I think it is National Motors.

A thirty day tourist visa is no problem. You must have proof of your residence. I recieved sample of documents needed from immigration, took this to my Condo manager (hillside 4) and they typed a letter on letterhead (they insisted I return the samples, not something they regularly hand out). I took this back to Chiang Mai immigration (by the airport) with completed application, 2 pics, copy of passport pages (you can get copies and pics at store in back of immigration, very easy). and 15 minutes later they gave me residency form. I gave this to my dealer and they handled the rest. if you are very polite and paitent immigration is very friendly and helpful. I understand they are supposed to charge you but they did not charge me and I even speciffically asked.

    Good Luck
