  1. <snip>

    No BS Donz.

The story is real. Sorry to disappoint you!

The hospital screwed up big time, Mike & Janese (because they work close with the doctors and hospital made it happen.)

When I called Janese that evening to see how my wife made out, you can't imagine how I felt being #1 in a foreign country ,#2 far enough away from my wife knowing I could not do anything. If the procedure did not happen on the day we got into Phuket, then there would not have been enough time for the post op care and follow up. These people pulled it off for me while I was in BK. In my book that means alot. Someone who takes care of me or my family is deffinately going to get a positive plug.

It was worth mentioning on the board for those looking for info.

My web site is <snip - URL deleted> were in Las Vegas.

  2. My wife and I went to Thailand a few weeks ago. She was having a procedure done in Phuket Hospital. We thought we had everything prearranged. Even e-mailed everyone a week just before we left to make sure everything was still a go.

The plan was to fly to Phuket and some folks who we made arrangements with would pick up my wife at the airport as I had to fly on immediately to BK for a few days of business.

We get to Phuket Airport and sure enough Mike & Janese Ritchie from Australia of The Body Line Retreat were there to meet us. (you know how first impressions mean everything?) I felt very comfortable and knew that my wife was in good hands as I go to domestic to get a flight to BK.

When I got to BK and called that night (Janese's cell) and she informed me that the person we were dealing with at the hospital was moved to a different department and no one followed up on what he had arranged. (common for Thailand from what I was told) So my wife's procedure was not scheduled. Well, only with the great help of Janese was the procedure able to happen. Janese was able to switch another one of her clients that was scheduled for a procedure also that day. He was nice enough to move his date to the following day so my wife could get hers completed and still have the prescribed time to rest with doctor follow up before having to fly home.

This whole thing was time sensitive. We had no time to waste.

Janese got me the phone # to the hospital and room # that my wife was in and I was able to call her. She was supposed to be in the hospital for two days and she was let go a day early.

Mike and Janese Ritchie brought my wife from the hospital to their hotel in Panwa Beach to rest and relax until I could get there the following day. I caught up with my wife and we finished our stay with Mike and Janese at the Body Line Retreat .Mike drove us to the airport and we flew home.

I have to tell you that the help and care that my wife recieved from Mike and Janese was unimaginable. These people care, And it showed. As far as I am concerned Mike & Janese pulled off the impossible and they deserve the necessary recognition.

If anyone is considering having some medical procedure done in Thailand, you would be hard pressed to find any better than Mike & Janese Ritchie of Body Line Retreat for post medical care.

    Their e-mail address is www.thebodylineretreat.com

Tell them Mike & Anna from Vegas said hi !!!!!

  3. Hey guys. This is Mrs csx, I was wondering if there's a site similar to this one about China, or has anyone tried China before they ended up in Thailand? Any input would be appreciated.

  4. Are you really in love with her and she is in fact in love with you ??? Then what is the hurry ???

    SLOW IT WAY DOWN !!

Start thinking with the head on your shoulders!

I think you should date for a while and if after a 5-6 month period every thing is still going good, then maybe move in together for a year or two.

And are you only in Thailand for a little while or are you going to leave the country to go back home????

Then, give her a few bucks to mail you letters until you can get back in country.

My suggestion is "DON'T GET MARRIED" :o

  5. The first step in recovery is admitting there is a problem or potential problem.

Maybe, just maybe you can nip it in the bud now and not have to experience some of the more horrific experiences that can accompany alcoholism.

AA is your best bet for help!! Their is no church at all about the organization. They do talk about a God of "your understanding"!!!

And if God keeps you away, then Alcohol will send you back.

    It's a twelve step program. { one requirment is being honest. }

Confusious says; The man takes a drink, The drink takes a drink, The drink takes the man.

Go to 30 meetings for 30 days without a drink, if you don't like what you hear, they will gladly refund your misery.

Some people never realize or believe they have a problem. Therefore lose everything; Job, Family, Friends, House, Health, Self Respect, Etc.

Just my 2 cents. God Bless and good luck. :o

  6. Tragic ending when the results stem from the pathetic involvement of Alcohol.

Eye for an Eye, Tooth for a Tooth.

He took a life. His life should be taken as well. (just my opinion)

Any man that hits a woman is a gut less, low life scum sucking parasite.

Failing to commit suicide shows what a coward he really is.

He is lucky he is in prison in Thailand. In the States he sure would be someones bitch!

My condolences to the girls family. I hope and pray they can find closure.

  7. Depending on my mood. It is nice to mess with them a little. When I get a sales call and they don't even know how to pronounce my last name I usually tell them that the person in question was killed by a drunk driver. :o (that is usually followed by a long pause)

With Thais that kept calling, I would first have to tell them if it were a guy calling that the girl he wants is busy servicing me. (some moaning and groaning with oohs and aahs) You could also tell them that you don't know where the person in question is however ask them to tell the person their looking for to pay the money back that they borrowed. Get creative and have fun. Don't get angry and frustrated and have a heart attact. Give the other person the heart attact. Enjoy!

  8. Adam. My son is 23, In the military with his whole life ahead of him just like you. I suggested to him to see the world and experiece it all. He told me he wants too. I told him like I'd tell you. Don't get married until your about 30. There is a whole big world out there full of women at every turn. Your very young and things change! I would also strongly recommend that you get a college degree under your belt. You'll have more options and open doors. Just stop and think of all your options!!!! The real world out there takes quite a bit of money to support a wife and family. I only hope for your sake that your not one of those "got to have it now types" Usually that doesn't pan out to well. When you think, make sure it is with the head on your shoulders and not the other.

Good luck kid. You got the world by the balls and you don't even know it!!!!!!!!!

  9. Hey! This is Thailand. Get used to it. Just like any where else in the world, you have good and bad people every where. If you expect every one to have the same morals and values as you, then you are sadly mistaken. Thievery is thievery. Yea, it is sad. Because we are guests in this country means that, this is the way it is. Some Thais will be glad to return to you your belongings and some look at it as opportunity. It depends on there back ground and environment. I think your lucky to get anything returned. However it is not smart for the village leader to tell you that she was keeping the phone and money. He sounds just as crooked as her. If he was a leader he should have told her that she needs to give it all back or the spirits would not rest well or some superstitious remarks that would make her understand in her culture that it is wrong to keep any of it. Call the cops, make a report if you think it might do some good. I would get creative and find out the ladies name and see if she has any dead relatives. Then I would get a Thai friend to call your phone # and pretend they were her dead relative and talk about how they are unhappy in the after world because she was not honest or some thing along those lines. Thais are very superstitious. :D

I bet you will be more careful next time you guys are out. Rain or shine. :o

  10. While I don't know the firms side of the story. I always remember the saying " there are two sides of every story and some where in the middle is the truth" That being said I think the firm should be contacted and given a chance to state their side. I think you should let the firms name be public . Maybe then they will be a little more cautious about their business practice. Thailand like many other countries, you have to be careful. REAL CAREFUL! There's ripoffs all over.

Maybe the firm will call the guy about the bill. I would have to mess with them by saying

    "NO WORRIES" , CALL TOMORROW"

Yea, I know we're in LOS. But people that do you wrong deserve it right back and double.

It is hard as a falang and have to take the bullcrap that is dished out by some people (falangs/thais)

Maybe some think you should just bend over and take it!!!! Even when you try to do your best due diligence and make your choices and decisions based on that foot work. And then you still get screwed!!

I have a falang lawyer(consultant) in a law firm that supposedly set up stuff (companies, etc.) He drafted a contract that was the worst cut&paste hack job that I've ever seen.

    Unbelievably unprofessional .

I told him to seize all work on my behalf and forward all work product. I am still waiting weeks on end. My local lawyer is getting involved to see if this person actually did any thing that he claims he did. Wants to charge an unjust amount of hours for the work. Just glad I caught it when I did. How can you " TRUST " someone like this???????? I'll eventually post again the results of this when finished. And I have no problem telling the firm about my posts of them on this site so they can counter my claims. Because all I have to do is publish the contract and you all will see with your own eyes who is right and wrong. Let the cards fall where they may!

Do they have a bar association or any thing like that in LOS???????????? :o

  11. Great looking bike. It's a shame the owner/driver was a jerk. I almost died on my bike back OCT. 16, 1978 when I first got to Vegas. (some dates you just never forget)

I've seen how they drive in LOS. Not sure if I would want to drive a car never mind a bike.

Here in Vegas they just don't see you! Then you have some that are drunk or just naturally stupid and they don't care. It is a shame. Been riding since 12 . Started in the dirt. Doc said on the last one that I might not survive another wreck. I wish the owner all the joy and happiness that comes from tooling down the road on a beauty like that.

  12. Stayed at the BAAN THAI RESORT in Patong. Ate at their restaurant called FLAVORS.

Service was great. I had the New Zealand Lamb Chops. Out of this world delicious. :o Will be back in Phuket and plan to visit Flavors again when I return to the Island. I keep their card in my wallet. It was very close to the Mc Ds on the beach road.

  13. I have the United with the Star Alliance frequent flyer program. Usually travel United. Don't really like going to Tokyo and then changing planes to continue on to BKK. :o Started looking at different options. Last flight over, went on United and got to come back on Singapore. WOW what a difference. Cheap seat on Singapore started with Fillet Mignon for the first meal of the flight. The other meals were equally as good and it seemed like they were always coming around with drinks or munchies. Freash fruit in the back of the plane where you could stand around and stretch. The girls are beautiful looking and had very pleasant attitudes. The plane was an air bus 345. ( Don't flame me if I got the plane type wrong.) All I know is I had plenty of leg room. Thats important for a guy who is over 6'. Private TV screen and many more options of music then United. That experience was last Jan. Have three trips already ticketed for this year.

L.A. to Singapore and then a short flight up to BKK. on Singapore. Have not had a chance to try Emirates. Not in a hurry to change from my new found love of Singapore. :D

  14. You play with fire, you gonna get burned.

    Stupid man.

I have no problem seeing guys like this get the death sentence for running this crap.

Line all these type of people up in a line for the execution. Show it on TV on every station at the same time. And charge the family for the bullets!

He took a chance and lost. What a fool!!!! Now it's time to pay.

If you can't do the time, then don't do the crime.

  15. Our money is just that "our money" It has always been that way from the start. hel_l, Now almost 20 years of marriage (same girl) it seems like some women want to run the show.

    No problem, Have at it!

I am ok with that cause I'm going fishin.

Got a place to sleep and meals when hungry.

Yea, go ahead, show me :o You got a beat em at there own game. :D

  16. What a waist of two lives. One young person gets killed and the other just flushed his down the drain.

Thai justice will probably take the assailant's life, and justifiably so!!

Stupid, Just plain Stupid. This sort of thing never makes sence!!!!

  17. Most definately! Drinking and especially in excess makes you vulnerable to those looking for an easy mark. A route traveled to where the same people can count on you walking by at the same time everyday is also bad. And the time of day, especially in the late evening or early morning is when the negative element of society is lurking about. Change it up. I understand from your post that you're not drinking and you are up at that time for work or in time with your home country. Change the path you take from time to time. Even if it means going another block out of your way. Also try to choose the most lit up route. Keep your head up and be scanning all around. Keep your guard up! Buy a can of pepper spray and have it in your hand or where you can get at it fast. A simple walking stick can be used to defend yourself from such attacks also. A 2x4 is a weapon. I have heard stories like this and then the victim pulls out a gun and legally defends him or her self with deadly force. The law says "justifiable shooting" Of course when ever you carry any weapon for defense you need to be trained and understand exactly how they work as well as you need to understand the law and when you have the legal right to use such force. Take the necessary steps to be prepared or you can always carry a cell phone and dial 911 and be a victim and possibly die.

  18. When in Rome do as the Romans. I hear people bashing each other on this site. And no doubt someone will flame, slam or bash me also. I would feel left out if they didn't. I've met some cool Thais and Falangs that will help you as well as some if given the chance would stick a knife in your back. (while smiling) People are people where ever you go in this world. As for the elevator incident . It is truly sad that this sort of thing happens. Only the men working on the elevator know if they took short cuts and violated any safety procedures. I know some people might think " screw it ! " It's Thailand. As if that makes a difference. Well, aparantley it does in Thailand. Some Thai's truly care and some Thai's as well as falangs could care less and some Thai's could care even lesser if it was a falang. And the way people talk about the process of government, It makes one wonder how the investigation will go. When in Rome do as the Romans. If you don't like Thailand, Leave! It is interesting when an American wanting to live in Thailand or some other countries cannot own land in his or her name. And that government could care less about them, and would favor the local in a dispute in most cases. When on the other hand the Thai or other nations people go to America they (the foreigner ) recieves special treatment and programs that specifically help them and not the local born American.

The emphasis seems to be on their (the foreigners rights) (legal or not) instead of true equality for all.

You best becareful no matter where you live. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the men involved in the tragedy.
