Robert A Heinlein's novel about a brain transplant is an excellent read and recommended.
I believe it was written and inspired just after the first successful heart transplant.

Last Friday night/Saturday morning I left the Lounge Bar/New Wave in Soi 7 just after 3.00 am and walked down to Sukhumvit. I stopped a taxi, told the driver where I wanted to go (a 30/40 minute trip), got in, he turned the meter on and took me home. When we got to my destination he charged me the amount that was showing on the meter.
People who are unfamiliar with Bangkok should be aware that it is very rare that anything different happens.
Last Friday/Saturday morning 01:00 am I left Soi 11, gave up trying to get a metered taxi so walked to Asoke, flagged down a taxi to Ratchada, dropped at the door for 62 Baht and gave 38 baht tip to a very grateful taxi driver.
Majority of Bangkok taxis are rented at about 1,000 Baht for a 12 hour period. Returning late inconveniences, loss of earnings, etc for the follow-on driver and is difficult to explain to fares if their route would mean a late return for their shift.

I haven't read all the links in depth but immediately thought back to my marine days and "sacrificial nodes".

Cheers, I can probably buy it across the counter at most pharmacies here. BTW how much is it?It will not help this attack as you should not be started on it until it is over - but it can make the rest of your life a whole lot better in my experience.
100 mg Allorpurinol tablet once per day and not only gout but headaches gone as well.

How about allowing pavement vendors to trade on even days only on one side of the street and the other side for odd days?

In KL, Malaysia an ex-racer told me the prize was a girl for the night. Does anyone know the prizes to be won in Bangkok?

which of these banks will deliver new credit and debit cards to you in Thailand?
I have used FirstDirect for nearly twenty years. They post cards overseas and have done for well over 10 years.
Recently they introduced a Foreign Transaction charge ontop of their standard ATM charges Along with the local bank charges it now costs nearly twenty quid a month to withdraw my state pension
I am now in the process of trying to get the state pension paid directly into my local Bangkok Bank to avoid these extortionate charges ...

I have the maximum True internet package for my apartment, costs 699 Baht per month for 7 MBS.
The maximum speed is limited by the quality of the True cable to the apartment block.
I am unable to subscribe to DTAC or any other internet services provider.
Check with your True office who will be able to tell you what packages are available for your apartment block.

First direct Bank UK has recently added a foreign currency charge to their ATM charge. The local 180 Baht charge now makes a single transaction about a ten quid!
I have recently got a government pension paid directly into a local Bangkok Bank, first payment tomorrow and hope the transaction arrives OK otherwise it will cost at least a tenner to sort it out

Same-same to a friend of mine yesterday. He also gave 1,000 Baht. He lives in Seri, Bangkok.

I have been monitoring my ipAddress fpr the past couple of weeks and it changes every five minutes, apparently due to some problem cable in the China Seas.
Check your own ipAddress and see how often it changes:
-
Pib, forget the browser, just test for your ipaddress and see if your connection is changing.
Your unique ipaddress is setup once you connect. If the service provider breaks and supplies a new connection it will be up to your browser to establish a new connection, most probably from it's cache.
Ipaddress.com will give you your unique ipaddress.
-
Seems like you are momentarily loosing your connection before getting another connection.
Google for "IP address" and test to see if the IP address connection is changing every few minutes.
I think this also accounts for the True connection problems I am having.

True Package, fixed line 7 Mbps.
Even swapped back to the True modem without Wifi and the IP Address still changes. Is this to be expected or shall I call True Technical Support?
The reason I ask is the IP Address is used as a backdoor to prevent bloated Google Adsense and Analytics statistics when updating my sites. The True IP Address used to change a couple of times a day but now it is ridiculous.

I used to get severe headaches due to excessive uric acid which caused gout. It was not funny but pleased to say acid can be controlled with a daily anorpurinol tablet.
Get a blood test.
