I'm jumping in on this thread. I will exit Thailand next week (Nong Khai to Vientiane, Loas). Is there any advance preparation I should make before entering Loas or is the process pretty simple?

I am here on a 60 day visa free entry and would like to have the option to stay another 30 or 60 days without going to Immigration. I would like to visit Lao for a few days as soon as my current entry is about to expire. When I re-enter by land, will I be give 30 days or 60 days? I am a US citizen currently in Chiang Mai. This is my first visit in years if that helps.

Nancy L. mentioned this place on another thread. I've visited their website but I can't find any pricing information. I'd rather not call them since I am years away from needing this care, but as Nancy L. suggests, we all need to plan ahead. Does anyone have any idea what the various levels of service cost per month/year?
