  1. I just came across this section of the forum and thought this would be a great place to ask. I have friends elsewhere who are members of photography clubs that meet every so often and look at eachother's work, answer general photo questions, and seemingly inspire each other to go out and take more photos. Apparently these are great sources of useful information like which labs are best, where to get certain gear and sharing tips and tricks. Anyone know if such a thing exists here in Bangkok? Better yet, one where the members communicate in English (my Thai is coming along slowly but surely - not there yet)?

I'd love any and all suggestions as I'd love to further my photography skills and abilities. Thanks!

Going field trip together in a group should be fun.

  2. How about those photography clubs in BKK?

Just a thought because in Singapore we can find a photography clubs or studio workshops easily.

If that is really a niche, I may consider start one here.

Hey Jon, if you're going to start something up - count me in! I'd love to learn more as well as get insight into things like which labs are good, where to go for gear, and tips on the street.

Thanks for your interest New Farang, I'm still working on it with my Thai partner and it'll all depend on the responds we'll get at the end of the day. Cheers

I'm not sure if Thai people in general like photography a lot (enthusiasts to professionals). Not many professional photo stores here. Or maybe because I don't understand/read Thai at all so I don't know if there are many photo clubs/websites here. :o

Did you go to the PhotoFair last month? A good exposure to the photography market here in BKK.

You are right because most of the clubs and photography related links are placed in the Thai search engines.

I initially thought I was talking to locals and forgotten this is an English forum.

  4. Hi, I'm coming to Thailand for a long-term photography project. Does anyone has contacts for good Fashion stylist and Food stylist to recommend?

They must be experience working with advertising photographer and willing to work as freelance at a start.

Thanks a million to those who could help.

    Cheers

    Jonathan

  5. I’ve been toying with the idea for some time now but a few things that have put me off to date are:

    * Where to find a reliable person happy to do take on this task?

    * How much time will be spent at each place explaining why we want the pics?

    * The overall cost and how to pay for it? e.g.  per place or by selected zone?

    Aitch

Hire a studio with proper setup to do it. They would have producers to arrange locations and train couple of young photographers to do the job. On an average of 20-45mins to shoot an apartment for both interior and exterior.

If this is an on going project and big enough, they might charge a resonable price. My studio done that before and the property agent kept that as a photo library.
