  1. I was there a couple of days ago, had a great lunch with my wife and friends. We had steaks which were cooked perfectly, accompanied with vegetables (inc sprouts) and a nice pepper sauce. The two wives had Tom Yum and Beef in Oyster Sauce, both expressed their enjoyment. Good value for money in a very nice setting.

I took some pictures and have permission from the owner (great host) to post them.

    Entrance view from the road.

    Totster :)

    What a great looking place.

    How much for a room?

  2. I think unfortunately that a lot of it may be down to the unwary American tourist who are doing as they do at home and tipping the 10 or 15% of the check bin as is expected in the US

The tip rate in the US is 15-20% or more.

  3. You're going about it the right way by taking lessons and practicing. A score of 100 will be pretty easy to achieve using your methods. Focus on chipping and putting 50% of the time. That will take 5-10 strokes off a round and you'll see results quicker than the full swing.

It's actually a good sign that you're hooking the ball. Most beginners have horrible slices.

  4. I tip quite well in the USA. As a result I get great service, the best cuts, freebies from the bar, etc on subsequent visits. My experience is Asia is that tipping doesn't yield the same results. That being the case I take the "when in Rome" approach.

  5. In one's home country it's usually easy enough to pick up some menial PT job to help cover expenses. That's probably impossible in Thailand. For example, I like to golf so when the time comes I'll get a PT job at a golf course, earn a small bit of money and get free golf. That would never happen in Thailand.
