Moving into our new house soon. Need advice on home and contents insurance. Has anyone advice on which insurance companies or agents to use?
As regards contents is there such a thing as “all risks” cover here (i.e. insurance cover for nominated objects that will brought outside house – such as cameras, laptop etc?)
Any estimates of costs – say x Bht per 10,000Bth covered?
Thanks all!

I was there some time ago. I recall that there were two prices about 50Bht for Thai and 200Bht for farang. You know the drill:- farang price in english - Thai price written in Thai! Still believe that all "dual priced venues" should be priced for "residents" and "non-residents" as is done in many places overseas.
As regards the mini-land - not sure that I would reccomend it! Maybe it is worth 50Bht but not 200Bht!

Does anyone know where to get a mesh jacket in the Chonburi area?

You can watch it over the web at http://www.hispeedworld.com/main/tv/. Good quality if you have a fast connection.

You could e-mail it to someone here who could tidy it up for you and then e-mail it back. I can do it for you if need be.

Hi there,
I believe http://www.thaivisa.com/318.0.html answers all (well most of!) the questions.
Seems quite clear.
However I don't understand the reason for the "Letter from your embassy saying you wish to retire in Thailand". I am going the 800K deposit route so do not need any confirmation of pensions etc.
I have an Irish passport but have not lived in Ireland for over 20 years. There is no Irish embassy in Thailand only a consulate. Any advice?

Thanks Johnboi,
I agree to stay outside the tourist / farang areas is probably best. I found a place on Sukhumvit Road close to Bang Pra on the way to Chonburi that has a very good selection at reasonable prices. All machines are Japanese imports with 20,000 kms on clock. I was just wondering was there more choice. Think I will do the deal there. Will let you know of outcome.

Looking to buy a 400 cc + touring-cruiser (Shadow Deluxe or similar) in the Chonburi area. Are there any bikers out there to give advice as to where is good place to purchase? Have seen a good shop on Sriracha - Chonburi Road.
Thanks guys
One Way Ticket To Bangkok

One wonders why you would procure a "one way ticket" as normally they are much more expensive then a "return ticket". But be that as it may be - on arrival in LOS I have never seen the immigration officer ask to see the return air ticket for those who qualify for a tourist visa on arrival.
So best of luck any way!
