There aren't many countries more obsessed with money and with as much corruption from top to bottom as Thailand. Just as an example, you have to pay money to get a job here. There are teachers in my wife's school that have to pay the big boss 200k baht to get a job, and they only start out making 100k a year. The big boss is trying to get back the money he paid the big man so he could get his position. He regularly dips into all the funds for the school projects, essentially stealing from the children. This sht is pervasive in this country. That's in the educational system. Really this is so fking pathetic I don't even know what to say anymore.

There are now 336,000 likes on the CSI LA facebook page. Are all these people just smoking crack? Where there is smoke there is fire. If the Thai police really had the killers that large a group of people would figure it out. They would not be feverishly posting about how corrupt the investigation is and that the guys are scapegoats. That is the cool thing about humans. There are always a few nutjobs, but when you get a very large group together they find a way to the true answer. Now the hard part is getting the Thai authorities to admit to the bull sht. But that will be a difficult task since all their palms are greased, and if one guy gets caught they just throw him to the dogs and then continue in their ways. They don't want to do anything that would mean less money for them.

We know the Thai's are not interested in justice. If they wanted to be true and shut down all speculation all they would have to do is have a British Forensic expert or even Porntip the Thai forensic expert collect DNA from the two suspects without the help of police. Send it to the UK for verification from the post mortem exam. UK authorities would have no reason to lie, neither would Pornthip or the UK forensic experts. If they said it matched then everyone would praise the Thai police for doing their job. Of course this won't happen because it would require a real desire to find the killers and it would require common sense and honesty.

They definitely were afraid he would rat them out since authorities were looking for him. They knew if they killed him he couldn't out them, and since Thai police rarely solve murders they were safe. No need for police to arrest a Burmese scapegoats either.

BBC reports: The Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) said the summons of Nadhavathna Krishnamra on Monday followed a call made by Mr Swire to Thailand's deputy prime minister and foreign minister earlier this month. In a statement, the FCO said: "Mr Swire stressed that there was a real concern in the UK about how the investigation has been handled by the Thai authorities.
Who do you believe, BBC or Mr. Foot in mouth Prayuth? Does he even do a little research before making these comments? These guys are clowns. Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt. Every time they open their mouth now they look more and more the fool

Here is why the police did torture them. There was a Thai taxi driver in Koh Tao that said the police offered him a bribe to be a witness. When he refused he said the police beat him. No Thai living in Koh Samui would dare make this up. First he could be killed by the local mafia, and second he would face punishment according to Thai law for libel. He would have to be insane to make that up. Second, there have been at least a half dozen other Burmese who have come forward and said they were beaten and tortured. Andrew Drummond even had pics on his website of marks on some of these victims. A bunch of people unrelated to each other would not make this stuff up. Due to the number of people reporting this behavior by police one has to conclude that where there is smoke there is fire.

Why does Sean Mcanna have a deep cut on his arm that looks identical to the one on David's shoulder? Why did he have a blood stained guitar that he hadn't yet cleaned off just days after the murders. The theory from the poster above could be right. I would like to hear Mcanna's explanation of those things.

how about when the BIB tries to get you to pay a bribe he has to pay you 10,000bt. That's fair. Both civilian and BIB play by the same rules. Of course they don't play fair. That would ruin their little money making scheme.

If this were any other country people would be demanding that the heads of police and top brass in this investigation be fired. At least in the USA. Peoples careers are finished in a second when they get caught behaving the way these guys are.

"Examined the evidence according to international standards"? Put down the crack pipe. International standards mean a forensic expert is called in to do the forensic work and testing, not the BIB's. You're own Thai forensic expert in BKK has said you made a mistake not calling on them, so no, you did not collect evidence according to international standards. You didn't even protect the crime scene according to international standards. Put down the crack pipe sir. The rest of the world is not stupid and is not buying what you are selling.

Just to point out that the problems are not limited to Koh Tao but is a problem with Thailand in general. There are plenty of tourists murdered in Pattaya and Phuket and all over Thailand. How about all those jet ski scams, motorbike scams, beach umbrella scams. I would not shed one tear if people started spending their money in another country that actually deserved it

someone needs to make a website telling about all the bad things on Koh Tao. All the murders, rapes, police intimidation and bribes etc. Need to get that info out so that when people do searches for Kho Tao they see that instead of all the glorious images of Koh Tao. Maybe then people will reconsider vacationing in Koh Tao and hurt them the only place they care, their wallets. Hopefully inform people of all the great beaches in Vietnam and Myanmar and other places too. Thai's have proved they only care about money coming in through tourism. They don't care about things like justice, honesty and integrity. Not all Thai's of course, just the ones policing it. The ones that really matter

I'm waiting for a vigilante to go there and make sure justice is done. Push people long enough and eventually someone will crack

More like, he informed other prisoners that if they kill these two they may get let out of prison early and/or get a little reward money. But they tell the other prisoners to make sure it looks like a suicide. Hang them or something.

I bet the police took good care of these witnesses. Offered to clear up any visa irregularities, maybe a little money. Probably did a few beatings and torture sessions just to be extra sure they would say what the police wanted them to say as well

The pm shows a complete lack of judgement and shows why he is a only a military guy and not a politician. First, he made the insensitive comment about bikini's and she wasn't even wearing a bikini. Second he practically jumped out of his chair to say what a great job the police did and put his reputation on the line by being on their side. Why would he want to sully his own name when the police were obviously bungling the case in every way imaginable. I can't comprehend the logic behind that.

Everything about this is absurd. But one of the most troubling aspects to me is the fact that the senior policeman in Thailand has the audacity to say police did a "perfect job" with this investigation. <deleted>? This is his idea of perfect? Now even a top forensic expert, Thai nonetheless, is criticizing the police. Crime scene compromised, murder weapons not protected and handled my numerous people. Police doing press releases and then contradicting themselves an hour later. I could go on and on but you get the point. That is a "perfect job."??? Wow, just wow

oh they are so good. Now that everyone is on to their little farce the police are going to kill the two kids and say it was a suicide. They know it's getting real hot and their lies are about to be exposed. Thing is, people know how their game works. This is 2014, stuff that worked in the past is exposed by social media now.

it's obvious the interpreter is making up whatever he wants. These guys are 100% not guilty. There, I said it. I was hoping they were guilty so we could know the killers were brought to justice. Unfortunately I don't think this is the case at all, and a double injustice will happen if two innocent lives are ruined because of the police dishonesty. Just use a little common sense here. These guys are barely 5 feet tall. They were drunk that night. These two small kids could go subdue both a strong big David Miller and Hannah while drunk in the dark? I really believe 3 people did this. 2 small kids that were drunk, no. And what kid sits on the beach and decides to brutally bludgeon two people to death because they were sexually aroused. Wrong again. This was a crime of passion, not just a sex crime. Mon, his cop buddy, and the brother in bkk. Look real close there and I bet you find the truth

Sounds to me like the interpreter is the one saying they confessed. The interpreter who is possibly being paid by the police to get the confession, the interpreter that both suspects say they are afraid of, the same interpreter that supposedly beat the suspects along with police. Hello????????????????????????????????? Maybe get a different interpreter. That thought ever cross your mind. I think these two are not guilty, and the two guys in Sean Mcana's photos and the son of the chief need to be re-examined. The police don't want to do this because they are protecting their own. CSI LA says a student at the university said the son of the chief didn't show up until the 16th and had bruises and a scratch on his neck. There is 2 minutes of missing cctv footage. The dna of mon and the others needs to be independently verified. It is real easy for the police to get everyone off their ass. Say ok, we will allow an independent dna test to be done on these 2 suspects. And an independent dna test done of all these big guys in koh tao. Nobody with a Thai name can be involved. If they did that we would know the true killer and nobody would question anything. Of course the police won't do this because it would require honesty and common sense, two things they are lacking. This is disgusting.

These guys are unbelievable. So they target the civilians by making them pay a larger fine. Why not target the corrupt cops? This country is so back asswards it is amazing. Now the policeman doesn't need to get a 200bt bribe when he can get 10000bt. Speechless

urging them to quickly create love among the people and improve the quality of life of their subordinates.
We don't need them to create love and improve the quality of life. All we want is for them to do their job of locking up true criminals, stop extortions, and quit lying to everyone for fk sake. Is that too much to ask? Yes of course is with these clowns.

What's so great about Thailand? Can someone tell me what the allure is for millions of people aside from sex mongerers and young backpackers looking to go to a full moon party or yolo?
