Hello everybody.
I have been in Thailand for 3 years now,on an extension for marriage. I am flying back to the UK on Dec 10th, which will be the first time i have exited Thailand. My question is,how soon can i present myself,Tm8 form, and relevant photocopies,at Surin immigration? I am aware that i can do it at Swampy on the day,but i am not one for leaving things late. Any information will be gratefully received.

Like a previous poster, the Great Residence is good value with airport transfer, restaraunt and pool too.

To the OP. I wouldn't take much notice of the post I have quoted here.
Doom and gloom and a bit off the mark.
As an example, saying job oppotunites in Ubon are limited just shows how little he knows.
Well said mate, I couldn't have put it any better.

I need to go back to the UK in October to sort a couple of issues out, that are best done in person. It will be my first visit back for 3 years, and i really could do without it. A couple of previous contributors have described what the place has become, very well. It is'nt the same country now that i grew up in. Thank god i am back in Thailand before Christmas (if indeed you are still allowed to call it that)

They dont do badly from the taxpayer, for a family of German/Greek immigrants.

I am resident in Thailand now (2 years) but previously my Thai wife got a visa for 3 separate visits to the UK to stay with me for 6 months. Now i live here, and i want her to come with me on a visit to England in November. Is the procedure/paperwork any different?

Its been wet for the past month in Surin. The weather "expert"hasn't really gone out on a limb with his predictions has he?

A really thoughtful piece. I feel that it has plenty of good advice to offer.

I've always had good service there. Never a cross word.

I got much the same reaction here, they were amazed an old farang had it in him.But i did appreciate the cold beer they brought me.

I,ve been here for a year now,and i,ve lost a stone, and feel a lot better for it. I bought a pushbike, and have a good thrash on it just after dawn. I live in the sticks like a lot of the guys,so biking about is pretty simple, also a good blowout on the beer once a month, keeps me sane, and slim(ish)
Is there anything at all in Thailand beneficial for foreigners living there right now?

My wife, and her Thai family in a nutshell. Also the many friends and neighbours that they bring with them. I loved England, but when i retired i had a choice to make, and i'm glad i made it. It's no reflection at all on my friends and family in the UK, which thanks to modern technology,it is easy to keep in touch with.
