The International Car Rental agencies should push for more funding to fix these potholes!    On a trip to Phitsanoluk (Wat Bot area)  roads leading to the dam were inundated with BAD pot holes, I"m sure some of the 

axels and undercarriage of the cars were damaged!

I always take my passport wtih me when in Thailand.   I got stopped at the Hollywood Club in Huay Khwang area, fortunately the police allowed me in, with my California 

Driver's license... (probably thinking we Know a lot about Hollywood?)

I kind of felt sorry for the driver!  but there is NO EXCUSE to threaten or harm passengers!    When I am in Thailand I take a lot of taxis...  one driver was falling asleep at the wheel...  We told him we want to stop now, and go to the 7-11... he managed to stop... we got out, paid him and then reported him to the Taxi company!

What is GOING ON in Pattaya and many other parts of Thailand? Beatings, Murders, Robberies.. I used to feel safe, anywhere I went to in Thailand... Now, I'm not too sure. Maybe it is an influx of non-Thais? (ie: Myanmar, Cambodia, Vietnam?) Not blaming a whole country, but there is something not right going on in Thailand! I have a place in Thailand, but might just sell it to break all connections with Thailand.

I understand that many underage girls are involved in prostitution in Thailand but very few foreign men are actually involved with child prostitution here. Ninety-nine percent of it is completely within the Thai culture in the villages. It seems Australian journos like to pull this sensationalist story out every couple of years, brush it off, and present it again. This time may be more legitimate as they're focusing on a crusading family, and I admire these people for taking up a worthy cause, but they're not going to put any dent at all in the real problem as they won't be able to get to the real source of it in those thousands of villages foreigners will never get to. It's only the Thais themselves that can do anything about it if they want to.

I have spent years in Thailand. I don't want to stereotype, but the two nationalities that I have observed (90% of them) that act rudely, confront the Thai culture, etc. are Russians and Israelis. It's sad to see the many high rise condos going up in Pattaya and all being overtaken by the Russians. Thai developers should entice other nationalities that respect Thai culture and customs. (ie: Australia, USA, Japan, Germany, Poland, Canada etc.) and as far as this ATM crook? Put him in a Thai prison (the one you see on the TV program Locked Up Abroad.)
