There are at least 4: Lumpini, Base, Aspire, Kalpapruek

Theres heaps more like about 20 if you include the wider area. Add tip placeplenty of condo/apartment buildings mostly/all thai folk but expect your contract to be drawn up on pen and paper in thai. Quick search on thai apartment or dd house etc will pull up a whole list.

  2. If more than 5 -10 mins away from the bar soi, central shopping mall etc or if you have any other interests apart from the above then get a motorbike. If you travel inter province to nong khai phon phisai so phisai bung kan or so on, then maybe get a car. I used to just hire a car everytime i landed which was costly. In the meantime i hired a motorbike for 200b a day if in town. I rented an apartment in udon for a while which was near a tesco lotus and the big highway but nothing else.

that said there is tuk tuks around and there is buses that can take you to other provinces if you dont mind risking your life with the minivan madness and what not. Take walks to or around nong prajak public see the famous duck lol.

  3. Looks to me like a farang wrote this note trying to sound thai. You need specific information to open a bank account no doubt it will be someone close to the offender. Likely just some pissed off farang who has spent too long here and has too much time on their hands.

If the taxi driver felt like doing anything he could say what was said was out of context and he could go to police saying he was defamed.

who uses the term monkey house ? Someone who sits around a bar stool pretending to know everything about thailand. 100% chance this fellow is sitting at a beerbar in pattaya reading this news.

if he disliked danny then all he did was draw more attention to him, which is exactly the type that posts videos and opinions for likes on youtube.

I promise you this is not all what it seems. Yes sometimes they are putting some bad guys away and deporting them. But I know first hand that this is a way for the Thais to kidnap and extort money from people in many cases. They did it to me last month.

I did not have an overstay and I was at immigration with a BOI work permit and was on time for my visa extension for a court case I was found not guilty of.

After offering me a 7 day extension the supervisor intervened and cancelled my visa called Lumpini to come and take me away. I thought it was just to sign some paperwork but they threw me in IDC at Suan Plu.

What I saw there was amazing and disgusting. If you treated dogs like that you would be thrown in jail for animal cruelty. You can find lots more info on this from a search of IDC Thailand.

There are children and families in there which is against international law. As Thailand joined the UNHRC last year they are supposed to be transparent but no one sees inside this horrible place.

As for me they threatened to blacklist me for 5 years. They locked me up for 5 days and then let me out as soon as I payed for my plane ticket out, which must be done at the travel agent at Suan Plu immigration. A 1 way ticket to Vancouver ran me 63,500 baht (I paid less then 19,000 to return).

I had no blacklist, there was no problem with me returning. This is just an incredibly nasty scam they are running.

I met many people that had 2 days overstay and were either at immigration or the airport voluntarily but were arrested anyway. Many were there between 30 days to 4 months as they could not arrange plane tickets out.

No words can describe what a horror show this place is with severe overcrowding etc etc etc. Many people I met have been there for several years and 1 guy for 10 years.

The world needs to know about this place.

I bet theres more than what is seemed regarding the details of your story and the grounds of your work visa.

They must have had grounds to cancel your work permit some details must not have checked out.

but giving them a reason criminal activity or overstaying etc is just asking for it. Basically they are giving you a way out of jail time for a fee, they are well known for this, you are extorted for what you are worth knowing your freedom is priceless.

they are cracking down good guys in bad guys out, or so they say. If you had genuine reason not to be guilty you should have stood your ground, you were likely only ‘locked up’ at the police station tacked onto the airport. They hold anyone while issues are sorted out or waiting for court date.

ive seen it before and assisted a ‘friend’ who was up for 300,000 baht defamaition to a hostess and 30,000 for damages. He was a piece of shit and had it coming but stopd the ground and didnt pay a dime after it was thrown out of court.

  5. Sounds like the attacker just needed an excuse for violence, although from the conflicting stories its hard to say- if the current story is true that aussie was a trouble maker may have had it coming (a beating that is, not death) never mind pattaya is better off without the two of them. I want to see cctv to make further judgement, and i wish the media or police could get it right for once. Surely it can be hard with many witnesses and cameras in the soi

  6. I like scb, i have scb and kasikorn, now prefer scb. They were farang friendly and helped me set up online banking app and set atm pins etc i have trouble with k banking sometimes and been locked out a couple of times i love the mobile app for scb it really makes kbanking outdated. The debit card i had with kasikorn didnt work outside thailand unless i called first to use. Depends what you use it for i find it easier to use foreign banks for debit and credit.

  7. Actually it only exists in pattaya to cater to the appetite of western men mostly, and you could also say a large proportion of which are u.k men.

I agree so what. You could easily go on a cheap holiday there for other reasons.

it only alarms people with hangups about it and these people are sometimes hypocrites and are the most depraved of sex and are the ones most likely to indulge. Blame religion and background, selective morals the western psyche.

Most thais couldnt give a damn having sex is as common as taking a shit. And extra marital affairs are a national pastime, some might say - grow up -its not such a big deal
