  1. Didn't they just announce that the 30 day extension will be changed to a 45 day extension or was that only for the first stamp?
  2. I used to do many TR visas in Saigon and I thought it was possibly the best place to get it done. Of course Vientiane used to be the surest place to avoid issues. Also enjoyed the experience in Hanoi, so plenty of options close by. Would be interesting to know how things have changed since countries opened up. Is it still a simple and hassle free process in Saigon? I'm thinking of either Saigon or Penang for a TR visa trip in early Dec.
  3. Can't believe that they're still giving out "covid extensions" haha. I mean it's great that they are but would probably be time to change the name of this extension and make it permanent or something. I did covid extensions for over a year but returned to Europe for my normal 3 months summer stay. Now I'm heading back to BKK on an exempt and curious if they continue the covid extensions, does it also apply to people who arrived recently or only those who have been "so called stuck" in Thailand since last year?
  4. Thanks for the replies. My situation was actually quite fine for this time but also wanted to know for the future how these 90 day reports are handled and what should be done in the case that you're exiting the same time as the report is due. As I have successfully submitted the report online, it should be fine in any case. I thought it was pending because something was wrong, but at least I have proof that I did it and got an email confirmation from the immigration (I mean confirmation that they've successfully received my 90 day report).
  5. That 7 day window would run all the way to my departure date making it even more useless to do one. But as Jack said, never heard of a TM47 being asked at the airport. I would never take a half day off to go to the immigration for this or TM30 (for me it's a 1 hours drive away, so all together it's usually a 3-5 hour ordeal). As I mentioned above I will be going to the immigration anyway to get my covid extension stamped but I can't be bothered to line up for a 90 day report and prepare documents if it makes no sense. I think it really makes no sense in the case that someone is just exiting the country. Just wanted to make sure because I don't recall having this scenario in the past.
  6. You mean you got it done on the same day or? It says in the rules that applications for online reporting are processed within 7 days, which seems extremely odd. Well my application has been in the system since yesterday morning at the status says "pending". I think I'll just take a screenshot of this and show at the airport if someone asks, but yea like Jack said, that's not asked at departure. Lived here for 15 years and never been asked for a 90 day report at the airport.
  7. I tried online today and it says can't do because the report date is less than 7 days away. Also, it states that processing time is 7 days haha. That's ridiculous. I thought it had instant processing on TM47. Anyway, I am still going to the immigration to get my Covid extension validated after the 3 week processing period but I just can't find much sense queuing for the 90 day report if I don't really need it.
  8. Hi, just want to as a quick question about 90 day reporting. I don't even remember when I had to do one last (thought it always went automatically with the visa extensions) but last time the immigration gave me slip saying that I have to do a 90 day report on June 8. I am leaving the country on June 18, so I would like to know if there's any sense to do it? They don't ask proof of it at the airport right? Thanks!
  9. Ok I didn't know that so it came as a surprise. Just seems very senseless considering that the friendly officer at CW told me that it just needs to be confirmed in 3 weeks time but it's 100% guaranteed already – just a change in process. So just for that, need to spend another day at the immigration (with the insane traffic in that area, it's a 1-1.5 hrs drive per way for me). Oh well, this is my last one anyway since I'll be heading back to Europe for the summer.
  10. I went to do it yesterday at CW and they have now changed to a devious system. Seems like they're taking the <deleted> with this but you can still get it. Just need to go to immi 2 times which is really nonsense. The officer told me kindly that they have changed the policy recently and now they give you a 3 week "under consideration" stamp and you have to come back in 3 weeks to get it signed to get the +60. They said the extension is already confirmed so no worries but you have to come back in 3 weeks.
  11. So went to do my +60 day covid extension at CW yesterday and all smooth with nothing asked as usual but one big setback. The officer told me kindly that they have changed the policy recently and now they give you a 3 week "under consideration" stamp and you have to come back in 3 weeks to get it signed to get the +60. They said the extension is already confirmed so no worries but you have to come back in 3 weeks. They really taking the <deleted> with this. Just another pointless visit for no real reason. I guess there's no other choice than to go back but it takes 3-5 hrs off my day and I will be leaving to Europe 2 weeks after that stamp needs to be signed so quite a bummer. Everyone else had this same experience now?
  12. That's for sure! Have been doing so and will travel again soon. Before covid, I thought Phuket was an awful place and now my opinions has totally changed after doing my Sandbox week on Patong Beach last October. What a beautiful beach without all that craziness.
  13. Beautiful but sad to see places so empty. Hope the government understands to drop all entry restrictions as most other countries already have.
  14. Ok you're right I didn't get too deep into the topic but I know that CW has been very smooth with the CE's. I've done a few and read countless reports from others doing multiple CEs there. They ask nothing nor want to see anything extra – just as it should be in this case when covid is really not an obstacle for travelling anymore. They are even friendly these days which is a nice change haha. But yes let's wait and see what reports we get from this new round of CE applications ????
  15. Not sure if I missed something here but why would someone need an embassy letter when they never asked for it up to now – at least not in CW (for people who entered on TR visas). We all know that the only two countries that could obtain such a letter are Ukraine and Russia and that has nothing to do with covid. There's no such thing as getting and embassy letter for the reason of not being able to travel back to home country because of covid restrictions and luckily the immigration hasn't been asking for those letters either. If they had, nobody would be getting any CEs.
  16. Seems like this never really applied since they were giving the CE without any questions or extra paperwork at Chaeng Watthana. It was just as easy as a normal 30 day extension. Hope it stay that way, since there is no such thing as "not being able to return to home country due to covid".
  17. Great! Now I don't need to change my flight from June to May – excellent news! And as usual hope the extension process at CW remains as smooth as before :))
  18. haha exactly. Miserable haters. Hard to understand what their problem is and how it concerns their life. The only reason I can figure is that someone went trough so much trouble to get one of Thailand's very few visa types and is not upset that some can just stay easily with a covid extension :)) This country has a serious lack of visa classes and until that changes people will use whatever other ways to stay – why the hell whine about it!
  19. Somehow I have a feeling they will extend the covid extension to May 25. If they didn't want to extend it anymore, I think they would have stated it clearly already. It seems to be the trend every time that they wait until a few days has passed after the deadline and then extend. I could be wrong but sure hope they extend. I don't see any reason why kick anyone out at this point when real tourist don't want to come with the rules in place. Still can't understand why some people are moaning about covid extensions and want them ended. I think they have a very wrong impression about the type of people who are staying here on covid extensions.
  20. Yes, this seems to be the easiest option at the moment (especially if someone is unvaccinated since they don't require a certificate). Always nice to spend a few days in HCMC or Hanoi.
  21. So it should be but I guess some immi officers just don't know this. I got into a bit of trouble last time because I traveled upcountry a few months ago and one hotel had reported my address. From now on I will insist not giving hotels my passport to avoid this hassle. Depends on the hotel – mostly they are fine with DL.
  22. This TM30 rule is so insane that I just give hotels in other provinces my local driving licence at check in so that they won't do any reporting which would make me have to do a new TM30 every time I leave Bangkok. I'm talking about short trips/holidays out of town. Of course doing the TM30 online is not a big deal when the website works, but you wouldn't want to rely on that.
  23. I'm talking about a new extension after Mar 25. There has been no word on that yet. That would mean covid extensions allowed until May 25 or something like that. That's a real shame that people get denied in some immigration offices. In Chaeng Watthana it's always been a smooth process with no questions asked – as it should be since there's no more embassy letter options for any country really or any other covid related reason except just wanting to stay here longer. Well I hope they extend it one more time so I can stick to my original flight in June. Of course if simple visa runs would be available again in a few months time, that would be an option. Just seems unlikely due to the panicking going on in this country. All neighbouring countries are opening up but TH keeps being stuck with all the bogus entry requirements.
  24. Is there any news yet if the covid extension would be extended again after Mar 25? Have't heard anything about it and it's just 5 days away. Anyway, if it's not extended I'm fine to travel out of TH in the end of May when my current CE stamp expires but if they do extend it again will gladly stay until end of June.
  25. I thought so. So I was just basically conned. Of course I hadn't done it at all in BKK because I entered vie Phuket Sandbox last year. Even so, the officer told me I must do it again next week after I return from another province. Well, if there are no more covid extensions coming, I would have to leave after this 60 days stamp expires anyway so no need to visit immigration for a while.
