What were your "numerous tries" like? All I ever got was a message in Thai saying, "Please enter your data correctly," with an "agree" button. Did you do something a little different on your last try that allowed it to work?

    1. Initially entered my name in English and failed. Then asked my Thai wife to enter in Thai.

    2. DOB, i was entering English calendar year rather than Thai.

    3. Entering the number at the back of the card, Initially, without any space after the first letter. However, in my first attempt with a space after the first letter worked.

Since then I wanted to change my appointment time. The Line app allowed me to change itit, without any problem.

  2. I have managed to get an appointment with my Pink ID card. Initially, I failed a number of times, but eventually I managed it. One needs to follow the following:

    1. Name must be in Thai, not in English. If you you have '-' in your last name you must enter it. In other words first name, last name must be exactly the same as it is printed on your ID card.

    2. Birth year must be according to Thai calendar year.

    3. The number on back of the ID card must be entered as B 99999999 (notice <space> between B and the first number) NOT B99999999. However, if your prefix consists of two characters as in their example 'JT' then you don't need the <space>.

I hope this helps. Choc dee.

  3. Just seen this article in Phuket News:

UPDATE: Phuket Immigration Chief Col Kathathorn Kumthieng confirmed to The Phuket News today (May 14) that he has been informed of the new requirement but that he has yet to receive an order for his office to start applying it when processing applications for one-year Non-Immigrant O-A permits-to-stay.

Col Kathathorn also confirmed that the new insusrance requirement applies only to Non-Immigrant O-A "retirement" visas.

  4. I am primarily looking for a dual-purpose breed i.e both as broilers and layers. I have thought about RIR but don't know any breeder who can guarantee RIR breed. If anyone can supply me with 20 pullets and 3 RIR roosters I will be happy to pay good price them. Otherwise, I'm looking to source pullets from established big players such as CP and Betagro.

  5. Many thanks @pigeonjake. I have been told that the layer breed is called CP Brown. The supplier of the layers prefers me to buy 2000 layers from them. I understand from their business point of view i.e. that's how they make their money. But from my point of view,  it's better to have say 20 layers with roosters and get fertile eggs for incubation. I just want to ensure that I don't cross breed i.e. have roosters which are also CP Brown.

  6. Mr. Kie, you have an awesome thread going here. I have been following it since the beginning. I'm planning to setup a small farm with around 2000 layers. I checked locally (Chum Phae) CP Brown layers costs 200 baht per layer. Apparently, CP Brown breed lays around 300 eggs per year. For 2000 layers I will have to pay 400,000 baht. Instead I thought I'll keep 20 layers and 3 roosters , incubate chicks and slowly build up the farm over 12 months. I have time in my hands and therefore there is no rush to get 2000 layers immediately.

    1. Do you think this will work?

    2. If so, where can I source CP Brown roosters from, so that I don't cross breed?

    3. Would you recommend any other breed as layers?

    4. Which breed are you raising?
