  1. It was also shown on the main BBC1 channel. I watched it and thought it was pretty tame considering the title of the documentary.
  2. Do try and spell his name correctly. It's Jonathan, not Johnathon.
  3. Two questions: 1. Why couldn't his plane have landed at Changi if Seletar was closed? 2. How come the plane had enough fuel to fly to Dubai, including two holding patterns along the way?
  4. I wish I could give your post a "shocked" emoji but there isn't one available here. This was not my experience of Sri Lanka at all. Perhaps it was different/better in the early 1970s. I went there on a 9-day trip organised for airline staff. It was my very first long-haul trip. Yes, there was poverty, yes there was begging, but it's the same in a lot of countries.
  5. Brit drug smugglers have been apprehended at Koh Samui airport recently with suitcases full of hash.
  6. I beat you staying in Sri Lanka by 10 years (early 1970s). It was not an H-Hole. Far from it. I had a most enjoyable holiday in a "nicer hotel". Nothing wrong with the place. Just don't get involved in drug smuggling.
  7. If you had read the articles you would have known that they had to break into his room.
  8. Likely he and his family are Catholic as he is from the Republic of Ireland.
  9. Practice what you preach, Frank. Up thread you referred to two people as c***s. Both of them read this forum.
  10. Most of the deaths were in Chiang Mai, weren't they? The two Canadian sisters died on Koh Phi Phi. The cause in all cases was suspected to be toxic chemical spray used to kill bed bugs.
  11. Frank whatsisname Koh Tao apologist doesn't want to say, apart from using obscenities to describe them, but I know who they are. 🙂
  12. Thanks. I didn't know there had been another tourist death just prior to the Irish lad's.
  13. A more accurate description is a "Black Comedy". Yes, it is very funny in a dark way. I've seen both Season 1 and 2 and look forward to Season 3.
  14. Nonsense. Chili peppers have many health benefits, including inhibiting cancer cells. 12 Amazing Health Benefits of Chili Pepper - Natural Food Series
  15. Chili peppers have many health benefits too. 12 Amazing Health Benefits of Chili Pepper - Natural Food Series
  16. On my first visit to Phuket in 1983, I told the waiter I liked spicy food because I had grown up on Vindaloo curries. The cook decided to play a prank on two unsuspecting tourists and overdid it with the chilies. Well, it nearly blew our heads off but we survived with no ill effects. We were told they were "mouse sh*t" chilies. Now we can't get enough of them. This woman is obviously a wimp and is suing for suing's sake. Her name sounds Indian too. Obviously she doesn't like her native cuisine.
  17. Correct. This is Keane Mulready-Woods who was 17 when he was murdered. Police release Photograph of Teenager, Keane Mulready-Woods, who was Decapitated and Dismembered in brutal Irish Gangland Murder - Lucipost More information on the murder in Belfast of one of those suspected in the killing of the teenager. These people mean business. North Belfast: Murdered man was 'suspect in teen's killing' - BBC News
  18. He already is according to the news reports.
  19. Those who need to know, will know their names. You can be sure of that.
