Most if not all bus companies I have used in Thailand do not require a passport but (name removed) TOUR will not let you on the bus without a passport. A photocopy is not enough. I have no idea what they need to check. Other bus companies don’t even ask for any ID. I’ll never ever again buy XXXX. I think they just don’t want foreigners on their bus that’s why they have such a stupid rule. I live in Thailand and trying to not always to take my passport with me because if something happened to it it’s endless trouble to replace and get new visas etc so I won’t always keep it with me just to satisfy this stupid bus company!

Sorry, but I searched and can't find the info I want. Can you please recommend any great Thai restaurants located in converted houses? I want a homey atmosphere. Thanks very much.

Currently lithium appears to be in some oversupply. Mines in Oz closing down or going on half-rations as prices have fallen considerably (instead of the ever onward & upward expected).
Lithium is in an absolute oversupply now and likely will be in the foreseeable future. South America has tons of it. Prices are down and lithium companies are contracting — darn I know as I have invested heavily a few years ago in an American lithium provider which now is losing me a lot of money. Good luck if Thailand thinks they struck gold!

Just a quick question: Do we these days need to register online before for we head out to renew our one-year visa in Bangkok, or can we just turn up at the immigration office? If getting a queue number online is available, kindly give me the website URL. Thanks.
Also, how long before visa expires can we renew? Is it 45 days?
Thanks.

I went into K bank yesterday, a simple transaction, I wanted my recorded contact phone number changed due to a new sim. I had all my ID, sat down and spent 20 minutes while the service officer entered stuff on her computer.
Finally she printed out 4 sheets of paper, filled in a form and I signed them.
Let's not even mention Immigration Visa extensions????????
Oh don’t even try to open a new bank account .. can take four hours filling out tens of forms and all must be signed and chopped. Ridiculous. But I love living In Thailand as I’m writing this from my hammock on a remote island in the Andaman Sea.. daily cost is about $10 including inflated national park fee for foreigners, tent plot and food). Love it! Thanks Thailand for allowing me to live here!

The other day I walked across a street in Pattaya at a pedestrian crossing with the light Green for me… some cars stopped others flew by totally ignoring their red light. Please be careful. Look carefully even if your light is green.

Exactly as others have commented, the 13 severe cases which is then analyzed into two groups is such a small (tiny!!!) sample that you wonder why would any news site even care to report such unreliable research analytics. Don’t they know better or published just to get clicks with a scary heading! C’mon please! Let’s see some responsible journalism here.

Where is currently (Late May 2022) the cheapest place to get a PCR test to enter another country which requires "Negative result proof of a PCR-based nucleic acid test for COVID-19 within 48 hours (including documentary proofs that the lab is ISO15189 accredited or Government recognised)"
Can a hospital in Bangkok provide "documentary proofs that the lab is ISO15189 accredited or Government recognised".
Any help appreciated.

Yes that’s the same site. I’m amazed they are fully booked until March 7. I’ll just go and spend the day waiting and waiting. Thanks.

Can someone please give me the link to get a queue number online for my annual visa renewal in Bangkok. The link I found shows no bookings open for the next two weeks which is not good. I assume I can just turn up tomorrow and will be serviced? Thanks.

Just his excuse to save face and save his own job because he knows Thailand won’t any time soon get back to 40 million. Not any time soon because the sex industry will never be the same as it mostly moved online where it’s a much easier job that pays a lot more!

Claiming big shifts in attitudes... How about massive sampling errors! Most surveys these days are so flawed!

Thanks, I was hoping for a quick online transaction for a few days of domestic Thailand travel as I always do with international travel.

I'm an expat in Bangkok and want to travel around Thailand. Where can I buy such short term (10 days) travel insurance? I see lots available for Thai nationals. I only find insurance to cover me when travelling outside Thailand, or purchased before arriving in Thailand. I live in Thailand and want to travel in Thailand. Thanks

Doing it ONLINE - Website or App... what a joke! It had never worked for me trying 3 browsers and AIS and TRUE... Just does not work. Immigration offers just say "Solly try again"!

When I made a (totally non-abusive and for the very first time) comment about 2-tier pricing on the Twitter of TAT, I was immediately blocked! That's their attitude. I'm sure their social media person does not know any better, though I wish I could bring this behaviour to the attention of TAT management. Anybody has the email of TAT management, such as Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications at TAT mentioned in this story? I don't care to be unblocked, but it totally soured my image of TAT so much!

I looked at these "special offers" and really if they think a 10% or 20% discount or free lunch - and this in the rainy season - is going to quickly fill up their empty rooms - think again. Think 40% to 70% discount to at least get some money to pay their fixed expenses. Otherwise, these hotels and tourist attractions may just as well be allowed to slowly die.
ThaiVisa - now is the time to have a serious talk (on behalf of us expats and tourists) with the government or whoever imposed this discriminatory dual pricing in Thailand. Once we pay the same as locals, as Thais pay in my country (and other civilized countries), then I will also go out and visit national parks and museums etc etc etc. Until these discriminatory dual prices are removed, they won't get 1 bet from me!

Yesterday I tried their APP. It could not load the country list... now today it loaded fine! So I filled out all info and submitted. Got a pop-up which informed me that to use online reporting you must have reported at immigration office at least once in the past (so I guess they don't have me on file!!!). I have never done it because I always travel internationally at least once every 3 months... so I must go to the immigration office.... duck

I am not using VPN. I now tried an old Windows laptop with MS Edge browser. Still did not work. So I tried using the internet via my iphone rather than my home broadband, and that worked!! So I filled out the form and submitted. Then got this message (and I checked that I correctly filled out all info): THIS SITE SAYS: For further information regarding the 90-day Notification Report Service, please contact the immigration branch office in your residence are.
How frustrating!

Certainly not. Bought my ticket from an agent in downtown and he said nothing about a passport being required. Bet he did not know. Fortunately I just wanted to change my voucher for a ticket which I need for April. Tonight I travel with Lignite Bus and they never require a passport. If tonight I was t traveling with XXXX they’d refuse me!! Unbelievable! Are they checking for security, are they immigration in disguise or plainly want to make it very difficult for foreigners. Nice to be in a powerseat!! Never ever again Sombat stupidity for me!
