  1. I have BKK Bank Be1st Smart debit card and also a Kasikorn bank debit card and both work online.

If you get a Kasikorn debit card you can activate it to work online at a Kasikorn bank ATM. BKK bank debit cards are activated online through their online banking. I would also get your name on the card so if you book a flight you can show the card at check in if required. When you open the account you will have to ask them that you want the card

with your name on it. It will take about a week and cost me 300 Baht per card.

  2. Took mine for Bambi Pie at the Red Shoot in the New Forest. We had just seen a herd of deer cross the road before lunch, "what's in this pie?", "Those things that we just saw", "delicious" tongue.png

Bournemouth is OK, but further down the coast is more spectacular, cross Poole entrance on the chain ferry, all along that coastline if gorgeous, Durdle Dor, Corfe Castle, Weymouth / Portland and the Cerne Giant are worth a look. Piddletrenthide is a lovely place with a name she'll have fun pronouncing smile.png

The Red Shoot is a great pub I used to go there many years ago, also try the High Corner Inn in Linwood which isn't far from the Red Shoot.

To add a little more information from Crossy's post...I agree Bournemouth is OK but I would head to Poole Harbour which has great pubs and restaurants. From there you could head to Sandbanks which has a great beach and at the end of the peninsular you can take a ferry to Studland

and head to Corfe Castle and Swanage. On the way back from there I would take in Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door as suggested by Crossy.

  3. Hi all,

I have posted this in the banking and finance forum but haven't had any replies so giving the general forum a try.

I have been tying to open an account with a Forex broker in Australia but I am having problems

verifying my address here in Thailand. They prefer to see a bank statement with my address

but I only have a savings account with a passbook so receive no statements.

Are there any brokers with Meta Trader 4 platforms here in Thailand that I could open an account with?

I would be funding the account via my Thai debit card or Thai bank transfer so would imagine

address and identity verification wouldn't be a problem with my passport, Thai driving licence and TOT bills.

    Any advice would be appreciated

  5. Thing is I am pretty busy at the moment with work and for like 200tbh it is easier for the garage I use to do it like they did my car tax. I was just a bit unsure about insurance details needed.

Another issue is that due to my work messing up last year it has been untaxed and uninsured since February so am expecting to pay the outstanding TAX as well. I would rather a native speaker handle it than me bumble through lol

Yes the garage that did your car inspection will be able to do it. I just did my bike last week, cost 590 Baht.

I just gave them the green book and picked up the tax and insurance a few days later. No further information

was required as they take your name for the insurance from the green book.

  6. Actually, 'lazy' is not the correct word to describe my lifestyle. 'Hectic' is a far better choice, since I have to look after my three 24/7 hotels, plus 'babysit' tourists at the airport and another 30 hotels in this area where I'm the local TPV. Don't really get much time to play around with juicers and blenders.

My annual check-up shows no issues, no fatty liver, low blood pressure, just a high chorestoral level that I'm trying to reduce.

Commercial brand tomato juice is a good idea, as is beetroot juice No way will I cut out red wine - it is proven to significantly reduce the risk of heart disease.

Brewing my own green tea is within my limited skills/time.

If I ditch the soy milk, is there a good alternative to it or dairy milk? I don't want to limit myself to drinking water and green tea all

    day.

I don't drink spirits - I have been drinking beer because there was no decent red wine left in the house.....

A good alternative to dairy milk is almond milk.

  7. ^^ so, how about this, which I alluded to in my post.

Open a Stock Market account, I can give a good contact there.

Buy some shares. The BTS is show a nice and gentle upward direction.

Or the BECL ... the Bangkok Motorways ... something like those larger infrastructure stocks.

The commissions to buy and sell are negligible.

Wait a day, month, a year ... up to you.

Sell the shares. Then simply transfer the monies from the StockBrocking account directly into your account in the West.

It is as simple as that. There is no third party bank which you have to prove disclosure to.

Maybe PM me if you have doubts or questions. Happy to help ... that's what the Forum is about.

I've been helped with heaps of things.

    Hi David,
I may well have to repatriate funds to the UK at some point so if you could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.
What share broker would you recommend that I could link to my Thai bank account buy shares and then in the future deposit
the funds to a UK bank account.
    Thanks

  9. Loppy Lugs,

Thanks for your advice, I went to First Optical yesterday and the guy is very knowledgeable and I have ordered a pair of specs with progressive lenses.

First Optic is the name of the shop you are referring to. Great service, great prices.\

All this guy has to do is try a few of the suggestions,he will undoubtedly be disappointed on price and service, the girls it the top whatever are only good at showing their arse through the tight fitting pants ,Euro whatever will sting you 5 times over for a service a one man outfit who is excellent in eye testing service quality and after sales all at no cost try option 5

I will guarantee it with free spectacles

Thats the guy,he puts ALL the other places to shame
