  1. I have a double entry 6 month visa

    (the dates are approximate)

    Start date: Aug 3

First extension (1900 baht): Oct 3

First visa run (to activate the 2nd part of it): Nov 3 (within one day because Enter Before is 3 months)

Second extension (1900 baht): Jan 3

    End date: Feb 3

The thing is that I want to visit other countries while my thai visa is active and then come back. I want to do that 1 or 2 times for about 2 weeks - a month, or maybe longer.

So when is the best time to do that to avoid making redundant payment for extending it (1900 baht) if possible and be able to keep it? Of course, I know I'll have to pay for re-entry 1 000 baht but I'd like to reduce unnecessary expenses.

Or can I just come to the immigration, ask for "re-entry", pay 1000 baht and go to another country and then come back any time (when the visa is still active which is before Feb 3)?

What if I leave before Oct 1 and then be at Oct 15, will I have to pay for extension 1900 baht and for re-entry 1000 baht?

And if I come back on Nov 2?

And on Nov 5 (remember, enter before Nov 3 it says in my visa)?

    I'm confused.

  2. There is a few Healthy option Cafes going around, might be worth tracking them down, if you are into healthy Veggie food...

By the way, do they usually put Е578 (or what's it called? Churot?) in Som Tam salad?

  3. Coconut prices have been on the rise for years now ever since there was a fungus or something that wiped out the crops up here and the coconut tress in Samui were infested with rhinoceros beetles which wiped them out, so all coconuts had to be trucked in from Songhkla, Pattani, etc. Prices never went back down. Even in Koh Kood which has endless amounts of coconut trees, prices are the same there as they are here.

In Samui, as I said before, the price are the same as it was over 1 year ago - 18 bant each for 10 coconuts.

  4. I found the coconuts for 30-35 baht, which is 2 times more expensive than in Samui. Is it the normal price here? I drink a few ones per day thus that price is expensive.

The same goes for durians - 90-100 baht per kilo, the price should be around 60 I believe.

Where can I find the cheaper ones?

  5. Sorry I can't write Thai, but what to look for is a large Yellow sign which looks like a UK Pound sign upside down...

That's how I recognise a Vegetarian restaurant, throughout Thailand there is quite a few...

And how about the street food?

  6. Very basic (without "I" [phom for male] and no "krap" at the end, add to your distinction).

Thanks. I just want to write down that in my phone and show it to the street food vendors, that's it. I don't want to learn it .

  7. I email them to feedback thac ... but they still didn't reply.

Actually, that man who I want to help me to replace my simcard, I've never met in person. Even if I did meet him and he was my friend, I'd still ask: do you all think it's safe to give someone my personal details about my simcard so they can get a new one for me? If they get the new simcard and for some reason they'd decide not send it to me, I'd never get my number back, right? Because even if I later block it again, they'd able to unlock it by themselves, right?

So unless I completely trust the person I shouldn't do that - ask them to replace my simcard.

  8. I've lost my phone with a dtac simcard in Indonesia where I currently am. The simcard was used for Kasikorn internet bank also. It's also registered at dtac.co.th. I don't remember, though, if I bought it using my passport or not. I want to get its number back and there's somebody in Thailand who can help me. I don't want to come to Thailand only because of that, even so I could.

So can he do that for me or am I the only one who can? Does he need the copy of my passport on top on the information about the last top up, sms, calls, active balance? Has anybody done that before?
