  1. Boy, I hope you're wrong .. That would indicate a change that might makes things tough. I love to dip into that account to use the cash for projects, then replace it a bit at a time .. Have done so for years.

    1. .. 18 Years I've had the 400K in the bank according to the parameters that include 3 months prior to filing an extension of stay.

    2. Recent application was made for a one year extension, and after filing the actual paperwork, we were asked to return to the IO to show a current (day we went) copy that showed the 400K was STILL in the bank at the end of the month (about 3 weeks after the application), prior to the awarding the extension, which went fine.

    3. We took 100K out of that bank account about a week after the granting of the extension was completed.

    4. haven't heard anything about that being prohibited, I will slowly replace it, and ensure that 3 months before our next extension request, i'll make sure we have 400K again.

    5. I have just filed for the first time in Bueng Kan .. previous years were in BKK and Trang Province.

    6. Never had a problem (not one), and the Bueng Kan Province experience was a simple and straightforward one overall. No Pain.

    7. Non Immigrant B Visa based on Marriage

  2. The money only has to be in the bank for 60 days not 2 months. If it went in the bank tomorrow the 60 days would be July 25th. If not and it was only a day or two they would allow you to do the extension with an overstay after the 500 baht per day fine was paid.

A re-entry permit would give you no extra days. It only keeps your current permit to stay date when you enter the country.

To late now but if your wife had been with you when you were trying to open a bank account she could of been your reference by showing her ID card and her house book (or a copy of it).

wai2.gif ... Ahhhh .. Don't believe everything you read on here, grasshopper ...

  3. Good for her.

    Calm under pressure.

Hope she damaged his crown jewels.

If a person doesn't have the protection of a family group here in thailand it just seems like they risk such exploitation.

My wife says Thai women live in constant risk of sexual assault.

My Thai GF says that she too is afraid of being raped and don't trust any Thai guys. Sad when you can't even go for a jog in the morning.

Thailand is going down hill so quickly it is hard to imagine. 20 years ago when I first came it seemed so safe, what has happened ?

What Country are you talking about .. ?

43 years ago ... things were a whole worse than they are now (even worse still down Pattaya way). I like this place.

S... happens - don't be so surprised. She was lucky and the guys was a dweeb.

  4. I have had dozens of packages (sent & received) from both FedEx and DHL. Most are business related - Parts of medical devices for repair, etc. Some must clear customs, most are small enough and labeled correctly - so they don't need to be held at customs. I have had 4 packages shipped by DHL from Anaheim, CA get dead-ended in Tajikistan. I have never had a problem with FedEx. Never.
