Thank you for the speedy translation ????

That must be what it sounds like in English. I have no idea what the Thai is. Advice welcome.

I thought in 2014 he said he wouldn't do a coup and if he did do a coup it would be illegal. Now the uk Government says it will break the law the problem seems to be spreading.

Thank you very much for the advice. I will give those a look when I arrive.

I'm arriving in Patong Beach soon. Where is the best place there to change pounds to baht? Does anyone know the current rate? Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm being told that some of those present were fined 20,000 bt. I thought that was the normal level of 'fine' for overstaying Vietnamese. It seems high for attending an unlicensed party venue. Anyone have any info?

Thank you, all. He's in Bangkok. I will give him a choice of these ideas.

For a man from a nearby country who has little money but has toothache. He tried penicillin but that didn't work and now it's swollen and painful. Any ideas?

I paid about 1200 at Bangkok Smile near Silom, booking by e mail. Good place.

The google translate for งง is 'confused' but I'd be grateful for your thoughts.

In many, perhaps most, cases there is a legal fine to be paid.
Yes, and I'm sure I've read about other fees, like for being taken to the airport. But I've never read that the sum paid to the police included the flight ticket.

Does anyone know if IDC Suan Plu does ask for 9,000 bt to deport someone to Vietnam? I thought it was up to a friend of the prisoner to buy a flight ticket and send it to the police. But maybe that only applies to distant countries?
-
IDC Suan Plu says he now has a ticket and will return to Vietnam on 13th. So a result and I didn't pay the 9,000. If anyone ever wants to enquire there in the afternoons door 2 opens sometime after 2pm, maybe nearer 2.30pm, and I advise people to be assertive, but pleasant of course, in asking for what they need.

I will go and talk to Immigration now. His friend says they want 9,000 bt to deport him by air.

A Vietnamese acquaintance was arrested on October 31st for selling food at a market stall in Bangkok. I don't know if he has any overstay. He is in Suan Plu IDC. I'm currently in Bangkok, not far from there. I know about how to visit him, though I haven't visited yet. If I go to that immigration office and enquire is it likely that I will get any useful information? Like court date, amount of fine, is bail possible? I don't have a lot of money to spend on this. But I read that IDC is an unpleasant place to be so I want to try to help. Any experiences welcome.

Are we still completing these cards when we arrive at bkk? I read they're being phased out.

Thank you all. Yes, I think it was an attempted scam. And thank you for the translations.

So does "I hah roy" mean "I'm very stupid" as in very short of a full shilling? Talking of miscommunication, once a Thai person was asking me for money, shaking me and saying what sounded like: "Die, die die". I knew no Thai so I was somewhat upset with this. But as you will all know, what was meant was: "Can, can, can".

I will not be helping with 50,000. What an excellent forum. And I've learnt something. Mai dtem baht 'not the full baht' or 'a few cents short of a dollar'. But what does "I hah roy" mean?
What does the text on this say please?
