  1. Double entry tourist visa and 2 60 day extensions = 240 days

You can't use a 60 days extension of the first entry, because visa validity is 3 months. But on the second entry you can try to get 30 days tourist extension first, and then the 60 days one.

Also, if you have legalized your child you may be able to get a multi entry non-imm. 'O' visa in Savannakhet.

    Thanks Paz. I have indeed.

  2. HI folks,

Recently separated from the GF (never married her) we have daughter together. My Visa will run out soon. What possible extensions can I get?

Can I get the same extension of stay that I am currently on (one year extension of stay based on being father of thai child) ?

I do not live with the Ex gf (obviously, duh!) or the little one.

    What are my options?

    Thank you kindly in advance.

  3. JustaPhase

In order to continually extend visa for being father of Thai child you will need initially a non o visa. The non o can be extended for no more than 1 year.

    To get the non o.

Your regular details for visa + Kids birth certificate, original and copy, copy and original of the house book. All documents (copies of) to be signed. Original and Copy of your partner/wife birth certificate (signed)

I may have went with too much documents..no much is better than too few!

    process year long stay.

400,000 THB in Thai bank account, in your name for 2 or 3 months (immigration law does not actually state a period of time!, but they do ask!)

Child/Children have to be legally yours via sworn family court . statement if under 7 years old or at local amphur if older than 7 years old.

Both processes are straight forward, my little one took 3 months via family court. (Only months old) and 2 court appearances. One of which was an interview

separately (me and the GF) with a legal secretary. Second sworn statement in front of a Judge..who looked oddly like OJ Simpson!

With that extra piece of paper work, you can get an extension for one year. You will need other stuff when applying, like proof that you are living together,

photo (2) of you and child and mother together recently taken, and the poo yai ban to sign a declaration that you live together as a family.

Also, be required to draw a map on how to get to the house where you live.

As far as I know you can renew indefinitely your 60 day extension, (renew many times over without leaving the country) but that may depend on you initially having a non o visa in the first instance. Also gonna eat up the pages in your passport!

  4. Not a problem. Do you know the expedition number of the package? May be possible for track and trace online find out where it is exactly.

If it is international, call Thai Customs, a 4 digit number, They speak English. National delivery inside Thailand look for post office's main national number,

they will, all likely contact the appropriate sorting office and have it redirected (if you know and verify the details).

Many years with DHL, this kind of thing happens from time to time.

  5. Just don't hold your breath waiting for it to happen,

every year just as the burning starts they proclaim a

crack down and nothing ever happens.

Maybe if they start handing out heavy fines,or prison

sentences, they might get some results,if they can fine

a restaurant nearly 500,000THB,just for having pictures

of beer bottles on their menus, they could hand out

similar fines for burning,as that effects so many of the

    population.

    regards worgeordie

I agree with the comparison, some odd draconian laws here..10,000 Baht fine or 6 months in Jail or both for drinking in public*,

jack all done about the slash and burning of crops. How about similar fines and imprisonment..and for village headman if (when)

he fails to report it, and the police if they fail to enforce it!

*Shameful as it is but a months salary or more for a local Thai person, or 6 months in jail...!

  6. This is in queue behind fixing the Samui garbage problem. This has been on hold since 2008. From the picture posted soon the incinerator building (outdated technology that has been discontinued in the west for decades because of pollution problems) will be hid by the mound of garbage. Anything that involves time and money is well not an option. Nothing will be done until tourist numbers decline drastically. Drastic drops in tourism is the only thing that catches their attention and opens their wallets. Its the only poll they are tuned to. People with lung cancer are like any war collateral damage. This is a world wide problem nothing is fixed till it gets to the breaking point including infrastructure world wide. Then band aid solutions are applied and the problem is kicked down the road. Provinces, states, federal governments are all bankrupt except for paying politicians bloated salaries. Its the new world order suck it up what we the low level population think is of no consequence. Soon the hands of time will turn backward and we must reclaim our rights similar as to what happened in the French revolution.

Yes but this time public executions of Wall street Banksters!,

  7. One of my dictionaries lists three options for "notary public":

    1. Puu-rap-rawng-laai-sen (ผู้รับรองลายเซ็น) (literally meaning guarantor of a signature);

2.. Puu-rap-rawng-eek-ga-saan (ผู้รับรองเอกสาร) (literally meaning guarantor of a document); or

    3. Puu-rap-rawng-eek-ga-saan-saa-taa-ra-na (ผู้รับรองเอกสารสาธารณะ) (literally meaning guarantor of a public document).

Based on what I understand (from the US) what a notary public is and does (I was one for 20+ years), my guess is that the #1 definition is probably the best - because, as far as I'm concerned, a notary public (at least in the US) is only guaranteeing a signature (or, in other words, that the person signing the document is the named person in the document).

Thailand doesn't have any notary publics as far as I know and the only place you can find one is at some embassies or consulates. If I'm wrong there, I'm sure somebody will correct me.

[Edit: I'd note that notary publics in the US are creatures of state law. As noted, I was one in the State of Michigan but I had no power to notarize outside of Michigan. This makes me wonder if the person at the US consulate, for example, is truly a notary public but rather just somebody that is either arbitrarily appointed or actually authorized by some federal or host country law to guarantee a signature. Heck if I know and probably irrelevant to you if all you need is something notarized.]

    Thank you kindly.

I have the document signed along side a copy of ID card, which is also signed by the person.

  8. If you want one in Pattaya, I know one.

    The WHOLE of Thailand? Really?

No, not for whole of Thailand. Pattaya is of no use. Roi Et, Chiang Mai good enough or Bangkok. How do I say in Thai "Public notary" if you can indicate pronunciation in Latin alphabet and in Thai if possible appreciated i'd be able to ask the GF.

  9. Yeah I did notice the down sizing. It used to be

    640ml and 6.4% then

    600ml @ 6.4%, followed by

    600Ml @ 6.0%

Not noticed 5.8% but not long until in line with tiger, Leo and Singha for size and strength, I dont mind so much as I dont drink all that often but when I do I dont like the watery taste of Leo or singha. Still I hope it tasted alright when they do or if they do reduce % and bottle size.

  10. TBH, no idea if they are effective or not. But if it is any use I seen one for sale in Big C at 11,000 THB, same price as a small cheap Air con. For what it's worth you may get a better deal in terms of money's worth and savings in electricity and efficiency if you get a larger system of Air con.

Spray fan thingys I'd avoid also for reasons stated by other users legionaires disease and..the possibility of spraying around water based bacteria and viruses.

  11. I would not bet against them eventually closing the Embassy in Bangkok and centralising everything in Singapore.

That will save these crooks a few more quid to go towards foreign aid!

Exactly what Spain does, centralise things with their Office for SEA in Bangkok, now imagine your in deep do-do and need emergency help in Vietnam, Cambodia, Phillipines (former Spanish Colony!) and have no cash, or jailed, or too few pages left in passport for a visa to cross international border, then what?

  12. Hi all,

Is it possible for Thai adults who are studying to finish their high school diploma (M6) to take a year break, a year out?

my GF says "Can not" and if she does she would have to restart again from M4. Does not sound right to me, is this the case?

Should nt it be that if she takes a year out she can return and then go back as she was and finish the remaining year which is M6?

    Thanks in advance.

  13. Whoever believes that a 42 yo woman stays with a 68 yo man for love needs serious help.

S$it, thats the age of my wife and mine.facepalm.gif

Why would a 68 year old choose to stay with such an old woman?

Cos she's a nurse and takes good care of him and respects him so much she goes out to work and leaves him alone to whinge, nag and have a good old moan

    on TV? 555!

  14. I thought Vitamin D is produced when you are in the sun.....Would staying more in the sun help?

Yes. But no amount of time in the sun will help if you are blocking the UV rays via a sunscreen. 15-20mins arms and legs in the sun between 10am and 3pm. Before and after those times the angle of the sun to the earth means the UV will be filtered by o zone or something liek that.

Source> Awesome YT video by world's leading expert on Vit D. try find it, seminar style about an hr long lot of humour is used, easy watching.
