Marble Bar, known as Australia’s hottest town, is indeed bracing for extreme temperatures. The forecast suggests that the temperature could reach 49°C this weekend1. This is close to the Australian temperature record for December, which is 49.9°C, set at Nullarbor in South Australia on the same date in 20191. The highest temperature ever recorded in Australia was 50.7°C at Oodnadatta Airport in South Australia, in January 19601. So, while Marble Bar may not break the all-time Australian record this weekend, it’s certainly approaching it. Stay cool and hydrated if you’re in the area!

50 degrees.

A lot of posts here blaming the victim. The Thais are the ones conducting affairs that are In no way Ethical. There should be a recourse through the Police from these bar tramp scammers, but the police do nothing and this often results in frustration and anger. It's actually lucky it was a foreigner (only a few items knocked over) because if it was a Thai scammed the result would likely end in gun violence and bloodshed which we have all become accustomed to. Time the police step up and start investigating this fraud. Otherwise this will continue with ever increasing and dire consequences

Wrong. There's a difference between the illegal act of arson and her legally selling the car.
How is it legal to sell property in another person's name without their consent?

Law enforcement is a joke
How can you cross into Malaysia with a vehicle that isn't yours?
Did it have the 'sticker' that Romanizes the Thai number plate?
You need to be the owner to do that and it has to be done at the Dept of Transport
Good luck trying to do it on a rental.
Also..how come the Malaysians didn't stop -or even arrest- them?
All foreign cars are stopped a few kms into Malaysia and given a bit of a check.
..but wait....they snuck back into Thailand again, unmolested, made it to Pattaya and decided to overstay....????????
Meth is a hell of a drug.
Law enforcement is indeed a joke. I just went to police station to report my car stolen. In my name, purchased before marriage, but police came to the conclusion that wife sold car and under Thai law I cannot have her arrested. So I asked if I burn down the house then I cannot be arrested because husband wife right.

8 years ago I had 160,000 bahts worth of work done (porcelain crowns +one implant) at Dr Warins Clinic as far as I am concerned he is the best in Pattaya for good honest value for money dental work....only problem some may find is he is very busy and sometimes a 2/3 week wait is needed for an appointment....well know and respected among expats and locals here in Pattaya
Far out that's more expensive than I was quoted in Australia. It seems way over the top considering the minimum wage in Thailand. How many crowns?

2 crowns for 16 000 Baht, no problems.
Was that cemented onto existing tooth or including the implant?

Not fast enough. If he were riding faster he would have been gone before she pulled out.

Oh dear! I fear too many issues may parallel my experience upon return. Suspect my ute (pickup) gone and God knows what else I will find upon return. I intend to make an unannounced visit also where I expect to find a forced safe and anything that can be Sold has been sold. I will follow this story with interest as I want to see what will happen with the missing vehicles. Will there be justice for theft? These are serious criminal acts that must be addressed.

I'm surprised the Land Office would register a loan from a foreign national on a Chanote. When we bought some land in Prachuab, I had to sign a formal doc at the land office specifically stating that I was not the source of funds for the purchase. Title is of course in wife's name. Different land offices may do things differently of course, but in general they are very sensitive to back-door ownership of land by foreigners (which is what would be the case if you have a lien on the property in your name).
Actually they suggested it. My original goal was to register usrfruct. They weren't keen on that.
Might also be the timing. If you were married before the purchase.

I've always thought that land cannot be used as collateral when borrowing money from a foreigner, even a spouse. In the case of non-payment, how could the foreigner act to take possession of the land?
They can act to sell it and recover funds.

So this loan that you provided to her, is this official and noted on the chanote?
Yes.

how do you know she didn't find the chanote in the car?
She has not said anything. But anything is possible. Hence the reason why I want to know if the land office would process a sale without me being present to clear mortgage.
