  1. Tell us what bike it is. Sounds like you are losing spark sometimes. When you lose it the air/fuel keeps feeding the engine then you get a spark again it backfires. I would check all your electrical connections, especially the kick stand cut out. Sometimes they cut in and out which would cause your problems. Some bikes have a neutral switch (bike can run on the side stand but cuts out when you put it in gear). Also, try a new spark plug if it's old and check the kill switch.

I don't go to Thapae Gate either but its a common example of the middle of the city or maybe the three kings monument. The parking at the current airport and over crowding at busy times are things that can be improved by building a bigger terminal, multi story carpark etc. There is a lot of underused land around the airport used by various government agencies that could be put to better use. There is no reason the car park area at the back of Airport Plaza and Baan and Beyond cant be linked into the airport. The air force land is a waste of space. Do they need a city centre location as a training base for vintage aircraft? So there is lots of scope for improving the airport and access.

If the new airport is built and the old airport remains open for the air force and some domestic flights, you can guarantee air fares will increase which ever airport you use. The new airport will have higher charges because it cost billions to build. There will be a 500 baht transport charge each way (just a guess). The flights that still operate to the old airport will be more expensive because you will now have to pay a premium for the convenience and time savings. If it does cost 500 baht each way to get to the new airport this cost will be used to raise the airfares the old airport.

It won't take an hour to get into the city from that location unless your cycling! The Lampang Chiang Mai highway is having major upgrades already. You could be at the moat in 30 min. It doesn't matter how much land is around the current airport, there is no room for another runway which is needed to cater to the demand so no choice but to build out of the city. They should extend mahidol Rd from the overpass at airport plaza over to Nimmen Rd then all the tourists have a straight shot to get to the area from the airport without stopping. I welcome the move.

  3. I have two very small dents, hardly noticeable but annoying all the same. Paint is undamaged. I saw on a TV show some guys with a tool that popped these small kinds of dents out electro magnetically. I wonder if anyone in Chiang Mai has a tool like this? Might be worth investing in one if not!

  4. It's disappointing when manufacturers lower their bikes for a certain market and give no option to order one with normal height. I saw a new CRF250L in a dealership and it was also lowered, not sure if you can buy one with normal ride height but it makes taller riders pay a lot to change it. BMW did this with their F800GS. Lower seat and suspension. Luckily Triumph don't do that.

  5. Visa issues. Living in Thailand 23 years off and on now, still working to support family, home etc. Get a visa that says "permission to visit family".... 3 month stay. Impossible to get a multiple entry anywhere except home country and even then it takes weeks. Yet Thais in my home country can get permanent residency after just 5 years. Oh well, after all these years you just go with the flow.
