  1. Thanks what do you think about the Nong Khai border?
  2. Anyone know if there are any issues crossing the Chiang Khong/Huay Xai border with a marriage visa and reentry permit or a multi entry visa that hasn't expired - just need a new stamp.
  3. My nephew has a multi entry tourist visa which is due to expire in December but he's looking to do a border hop to get another 60 days (already done a 30 day extension) Which would be the best border to visit from Chiang Mai? I heard the old Mai Sai border is closed?
  4. I'm planning for my 15-year-old nephew (Irish passport holder) to stay with me in Thailand for several months starting this August. As his guardian during his stay, we're looking into getting a multi-entry tourist visa for him as we intend to travel within Southeast Asia. I have a couple of questions regarding the financial proof required for his visa application: Does he need to show funds in his own bank account? (he doesn't have one) Is it possible for me to provide proof of my finances along with a sponsorship letter, given I'll be his guardian here? Or, should the proof of funds come from his mother, even though she won't be joining us? Additionally, I'm curious about any specific guardianship documentation that might be needed: Is a notarised letter stating I'll act as his guardian required for the visa application, or is it just necessary at the border and while we're in Thailand? I'm on a marriage visa here and want to make sure we have everything covered to avoid any issues. Any advice, especially from those who've been through a similar process, would be greatly appreciated.
  5. To reserve it but I cancelled after less than 3 hours.
  6. I was being told that if I didn't pay immediately I would not be able to rent the property. Yes, stupid mistake but I was under pressure and in haste made a bad decision. It happens. What I really want to know is if there is any recourse for this? It isn't a lot of money. However, based on principle I feel like it is theft and should be addressed in some way if at all possible.
  7. I went to look at renting a home the other day, I was pressured into paying a 15K deposit on the spot which I did and then 3 hours later I contacted the real estate agent to tell them that I did not wish to go through with renting the home. She contacted the property owner who initially refused to pay me back my 15K deposit and then later the next day transferred me back 12K, keeping 3K baht. Is this legal for them to do this? We had no written agreement and I feel like they've basically just stole 3K baht from me.
