  1. From 23rd October bank bank have blocked international debit card payments due to the fraud that took place earlier that month - you can request a temporary release for some sellers - ie booking.com but they will not allow release for apple.com - both my iCloud and purchase in online store were declined and they said it is not on the list to release temporarily- they could give no timescale for fix so can only use for local Thai payment- ie roojai.com that worked no problem

  2. Update; received permit today after engaging with a pet exporter in Thailand to progress application - further info was required. It does appear that you can arrive without it just takes more time on arrival and there is a chance the airline will be awkward. Thanks everyone for input ????

  3. Thanks both - travelling with Thai Airways  - I want to get the permit first but had two goes already - checked that they received docs by telephone as per process - agreed all docs correct and assure me the permit will be sent but it isn't sent!!

need to look for plan B hence the agent to "assist" in obtaining the permit before time runs out.

    thanks again for all input

  4. Hi all

    hope you can help me

I applied to Suvarnabhumi quarantine section and followed the application form/process from their website.
First application submitted on 9.9 got no response. The site says it would be sent within 7 working days,
Wife spoke on 19.9 and we were told we had to resubmit all paperwork And we should get permit by 2.10

Getting worried that it will not get answered again - are there any agents in BKK that can assist in getting the permit more smoothly - I am travelling from UK at end of October and cannot move date easily.

    many thanks

  5. Hi

I have had my UK marriage cert notarised by the FCO in MK and then legalised at the London Thai embassy.

I believe now before registering at the local amphur (Khon Khaen province) to get a kor ror 22, I have to have it again signed by the Thai consul in Bangkok?

i have emailed them last week but no reply:

    1. Does the cert need translating ?

    2. Do you need to make an appt and if so how?

    3. Is there another charge ?

    4. Anything else need to be done before taking to amphur?

    thanks to all

  6. I transferred 80k on Tuesday via TW and it came up as Interbank via SMART rather than International.

I contacted TW as I had already placed a tag to make sure it went through Bangkok bank as a transfer to show as international.

(If they use Kasikorn partner it then shows as Interbank as local transfer)

They stated they cannot guarantee it is shown as International even if tagged.

I sent another 40k yesterday after they said they would try to send via Bangkok Bank - that has arrived today again as Interbank via SMART.

TW are not interested in helping today saying they use the most efficient / cheapest way of transferring money for customers and that at the moment Kasikorn is being used.

In other words need to find an alternative solution :-(
