I applied yesterday - the agent suggested there would be a 4-6 week wait. I am already in TH and already have a retirement visa - perhaps that speeds up the process?...

I would recommend taking the Nebido injection every three months - it is time-released and does not risk giving you the angry episodes and mood swings that you may get from the daily medication. My clinic charges around 9000 for an injection that is good for 3 months.

We have clearly seen the utter destruction of Holland, Sweden, Spain, Taiwan etc since they starting allowing Gay Marriage. It clearly ruins economies and destroys societies! Stop it before it ruins the amazing economy of Thailand and its perfect social order! Now ! (this is satire...)

i am on koh yao yai now, the neighbor is the 'monkey man' who goes around helping everyone with their coconuts. i see zero signs of mistreatment of the monkeys. what is the specific complaint about monkeys in thailand?

the best part of teaching in a rich private school was all the envelopes that kept arriving mysteriously into my hands around grading period. when i went to the admin they informed me that if i didnt inflate the grades, they would, because the parents were 'important people' so i might as well accept the tips - i quit soon after

There isn’t a single instance anywhere in the US of protesters attacking families in their homes. White Panic defense. Inexcusable.

they should just run a longtail once a day until biz picks up. I wonder if this means that the boat from Krabi to Koh Yao Yai is now running?

This thread reinforces the question of why anyone would want to buy a condo in the first place. Endless headache and very difficult to sell later except at a loss.

I’m pretty sure your travel agent is not telling the whole truth, is getting the refund, and pocketing it. EVA is a reasonable airline. Call them directly and I’ll bet you get a different story.

I am pretty sure that this is as accurate as can be considering that totality of the situation. I have seen their public health teams in the villages and islands enforcing quarantines and keeping an eye on people at risk of infection. Very thorough. Good job Thailand.

the money would be behind a treatment or vaccine that worked which is why all these suspicions of international cabals seem like paranoid nonsense to me. anyone who has actually worked in an international org can attest that they are too inefficient and working at cross purposes to carry out some dastardly plan.. oy..

the frustration with germany is all about economic policy - exchange and interest rates in particular - I would suggest that there be Southern and Northern Euro with different exchange rates and interest rates and policy. Athens and Valletta will never thrive if they have to operate like Germany economic policy.

you will get your refund - they cannot hold your money if they cancelled the flight. best to submit a written request and upload supporting documents via their website. I got all my Ba tickets fully refunded.

The public health policing of the population of small villages, islands, etc is quite thorough and impressive. I had no idea such a network was in place in Thailand. I have seen little sign of it in Bangkok, but on Koh Yao Yai they had checkpoints, were going door to door, quarantining people at home who had arrived back on the island recently (most after losing jobs in Phuket) and keeping a list and checking on them 3 times a day. Hearing the same kinds of stories from Eastern provinces. So, I actually feel reassured about what is happening on the ground.

There is an over the counter medication that prevents HIV infection - called Prep (I believe the brand in TH is Ricovir or Tenvir). You dont have to take it every day. If you know you are headed into a weekend of boom-boom, start it the day before and take it through 1-2 days after your last boom. This is not the way it is 'officially' supposed to be used, but it works. This advice based on research done by the gay community in San Francisco at your service....
The end is in sight: Thailand outlines plan for re-opening, target of no quarantine from 1 Oct

At one point, earlier this week, there was the detail floating around that they will only accept vaccinations occurring in the previous 90 days. Does that mean that those of us who travel for work will have to get vaccinated often and how safe if that.....(face palming)
