There goes the happiness ...
...and the piece.

Even if you are not a regular motorcycle driver, it's worth to rent one for a day to do the ride. It's a very nice track. Give it a try. Perhaps then you should extend your trip to Ban Chang.
I'm not sure a novice should be driving down Sukhumvit there.
There is a way from Chairapruk on smaller roads I do believe. Google Maps will find it.
1/2 day round trip from Pattaya getting the sites in. I kinda got lost and found the places by accident.
Nice winding, scenic, country roads with the Winery, Buddha Mtn. and Chinese temple in the vicinity.
That temple is very impressive.

I saw a beautiful Triumph the other day. Brand new. Looked like a cafe style. I don't know the models, but it was very, very nice.
He probably just paid 750,000bt. Poor bastard.

Honest Taxi Driver returns 'lost' valuables to British Tourist in Pattaya
The first time I heard a story like this...I believed it. The second time... I believed it.... the third? Getting suspicious...the fourth? C'Mon! TAT is at it again! Staging fake acts of honesty and kindness ... just like the "I hate Thailand" vid.
Well done TAT!
Another TAT rerun. Every year, same same.
It's fun to bash taxi drivers, and a majority deserve it, but there are some decent folks in the ranks.
It could be true I suppose. Who knows? The BS runs so deep here.
A Thai told me. "Everything is upside down in Thailand."

Can't beat the Full English breakfast at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club
Now there's a completely new one for me.
How much is it? What do you get? What are the hours?
You can walk right in? I thought it was a private club?
From their website: "The Club runs a bar/restaurant to serve members and their guests."
Disappointing.
Near the Royal Varuna, on the same street, just below the Cozy Hotel is Twins Cafe/Bakery.
They serve LaVazza Coffee. I think it's the best cappuccino in Pattaya.
The cakes and cookies are good but unfortunately, the food is just so so.
The great coffee, superb view and fresh breeze make it one of my favorite stops.
Lots of Russian babes headed to the beach add to the enjoyment.

The people advising the leaders of England and Burma, told them, the case stinks.
The PMs had to personally approach the Thai leader about the mishandling.
A serious slap.
The Thais haven't flinched and are sticking to the story.
I agree with the leaders of England and Burma.
The case stinks.

The rowdy, dirty, smelly farang guy throws a rock at a pickup truck and a dozen Thais don't come running and kick his head in?
Right.

One thing that impressed me when I came to Thailand years ago, the OJ was always fresh squeezed.
Nowadays, I rarely come across it.
Sad.

I was told years ago, that if a Thai bigshot can't keep his kid out of jail, it's a humiliating loss of face.
The guys at the golf yard will be pointing and snickering.
"Ha ha ha...doesn't have enough juice to keep his kid outta prison...ha ha ha."

The island headman confirmed to the media, the morning after the killings, his son did not leave the island to escape. He left the island to go to Bangkok.
A Police commissioner confirmed this and added he had enough evidence to arrest the son. The Police were also investigating those that helped the son flee. (presumably the boat crew)
This proves the son was on the island. The father even admitted it.
This is the guy that should be locked up.

I know a Thai lady in Jomtien. Her brother is a policeman. Her brother tells her to never trust a policeman.
Why is it that 2 or 3 posters here adamantly trust the police?
Strange.

25 years ago, I did meet lots of Thai people that were represented in that movie.
There still are lots of nice people in Thailand, especially upcountry. Hard working, ethical, generous, friendly people.
Unfortunately, tourists don't often meet those kind of people in the resorts.
The greedy, unethical, immoral, racist, criminal haters have flocked to the resorts for the "harvesting of the farangs."
Go to Phuket, Pattaya, Samui etc. and the places are overrun with ruthless, predator types, lined up to lie cheat and steal.
The attitude is "us against the farang." The tourists I meet are on "RED ALERT" after 2 or 3 days on the ground, having been targeted by numerous scammers.
The recent busts in Phuket prove the police and government officials are behind many tourist scams.

It's a while since I've been down to Pattaya and Jomtien but I always used to enjoy the breakfasts at Yorkies, the English pork butcher in Beach Road. What's the latest on it? :-)
Yorkies (S of Chaiyapruk) is no more as of 2 years ago. Kaput, gone, out of business.
Yorkies moved from the Beach to Soi Chayrupruk, then sometime after, the owner passed away.
The restaurant closed but the meats operation is still going I believe.

Since the BIB don't ever bother with the beach mafia (jet skis thugs) what makes you think Police in orange will be an improvement?
The fox guarding the hen house, no?

As someone involved with the tourism industry, I can tell you that tourists are targeted by scammers constantly. They are relentless.
Without a doubt, some of the worst scammers are off duty Tourist Police posing as helpful strangers lurking around tourist sites.
I was hoping the TAT video was a training film for Thais. Teach the local population to be nice and respectful of visitors.
Not scam them all day long.

The OP has asked for the best breakfast in Jomtien. I have tried the places mentioned above. They all get it wrong.
There is only one choice.
Back Fabrik, German Bakery on 2nd Rd. (between Rhompo Market and Soi WatBoon.
Especially if you like fried potatoes.
