On the TM.7 form, after "kind of visa", you have to fill in:
Arrived by (mode of transport).................... from....................
Port of arrival.................... date.................... month.................... year....................
arrival / departure card TM.6 no. ....................
Do they want the date of arrival when I first got the visa or do they want the date of my latest arrival in Thailand? If the latter, is that the date stamped on the TM.6 card?

Does anybody know where her nickname "Viking" comes from? Some Scandinavian in the bloodline perhaps?

Unfortunately the best way to read Thai on Kindle is as a PDF file. However, to overcome the issue of having to zoom/scroll the pages, you should save the PDF at the same size as the Kindle screen. Here is my workflow:
1. In MS Word, set custom page size to the size of your Kindle screen e.g. 4.5 x 6.3 inches.
2. Paste Thai text into the Word document and adjust the font face and font size of the text until it is a good size for you to read at full page on the Kindle. e.g. Cordia New, 14 pt
3. Save as PDF and transfer to your Kindle.
Now you should be able to comfortably read quality Thai text page by page without zooming and scrolling.

I am considering having my products certified halal. Anybody already done it? How much does it cost? Is there an annual inspection and fee?

Wife arrived back on Tuesday night and we went to Immigration the next day. Paid the overstay fine of 2000 baht (4 days x 500) and extended for a year.

It's not only the overstay fine, it's also the WP renewal. I would expect your WP to be cancelled.then you will need to go through the laborious process of applying again.
My WP is valid for another 1.5 years. If I wait till Wednesday, will my WP be jeopardized?

As said, you have had up to 45 days to apply.
Why wait until the last minute?
Yes your Wife has to be with you when you apply.
I messed up with my google calendar reminder. I thought I set it to remind me 4 weeks BEFORE the expiry date, but instead got the reminder ON the expiry date. Now just deciding which will cause least damage - cancel wife's trip or wait till Wednesday to go to Immigration.

I doubt you could get the long list of required documents together for an extension based upon working by tomorrow.
See this list of the basic requirements. https://www.immigration.go.th/content/service_1
Are paying yourself a minimum salary of 50k baht. That is the requirement for those from most western countries.
That list seems to have grown since 5 years ago when I last extended based on work. I think I'll stick with the overstay fine and marriage extension this time.

Thanks for the replies. So no point in going tomorrow if wife is not with me. Better to go on Wednesday and pay the overstay fine.
What about if I go tomorrow and apply for extension of permit to stay based on work? I am employed by my own business with work permit.

My non-o visa expired yesterday (Sat 19 Aug 2017) and was planning to go to Immigration tomorrow (Mon 21 Aug). No overstay fine because expiry date fell on a weekend. However, didn't realize wife will be out of town until Wednesday. Should I still go to Immigration tomorrow to apply for extension without wife, or go on Wednesday with wife and pay overstay fine?

I like Rimping and shop there at least once a week, but I don't mind visiting other shops and stocking up on items if they are significantly cheaper. Thanks to bangmai and kaptainrob for sharing their bargain secrets. Anyone else?
-
I'd like to try some wooden clothes pegs as the plastic ones don't last long in the harsh tropical sun.
-
I've noticed that some items I buy at Rimping are much cheaper at other shops. For example:
anchor butter 225g
rimping 109 baht
yok 78 baht (28% cheaper)
anchor uht cream 1L
rimping 225 baht
yok 160 baht (29% cheaper)
dairyhome organic milk 1L
rimping 85 baht
tops 70 baht (18% cheaper)
jazz red apples
rimping 6for79 baht
makro 10for99 baht (25% cheaper)Anyone else found things at Rimping that you can buy significantly cheaper elsewhere?
