  1. People here are so strong...

There was a story 2 years ago about a Thai guy who has been attacked by 10 of these dogs in Chiang Mai...they had to cut his arm to save him after that.

I also have the same problem in Lopburi.

Sure when these dogs are just 1 or 2 it's not really a problem, but believe me, when they start to be 5 or more, it's not the same story at all as they feel much more confident.

After this problem, I bought a tazer torch but never have to use it.

Legal or not I really don't care. I'm not attacking them, just want to be able to protect myself that's it.

  2. You can turn up unannounced here can't you?

Try being a Thai citizen and turn up unannounced to your home country and then come back and tell us about how hard thailand is making it for you...

Thai citizen can buy and own land in our home country.

Don't even need to go there.

Try the same here if mum or dad wasn't Thai.

Yep and in these countries, if you have an accident, you are not sure to pay just because you are a foreigner...and so many other examples & "laws" to welcome us...

  3. Two double entry tourist visas, 4000 baht, 4 extensions 7600 baht for a total of 11,600 for 360 days versus the cost of enrollment in a school, plus ED visa and cost of extensions.

    Hi Wayned,

Sorry but it's not correct : What about the travel & hotel expenses to apply to your visa and the visa runs ? If you go to Cambodia or Laos...is the visa free to enter these countries ? More or less the cost is the same...

Also with an ED Visa, you can open a bank account (more easily), get a driving licence and I heard you can also do some part time jobs (not sure about that).

    Have a nice day
