    This is an excellent idea...

It makes perfect sense to allow regular visitors the freedom to move in and out via Automatic Gates.

For those on Non-Immigrant Visa's it would be easy to register their biometrics with these machines and register them with these Auto-gates - they could even combine it with an ID card (as many other countries do) to remove the ambiguity of having to carry your passport or not.

I've been entering Dubai and Doha for years using these Auto-gates - its so much more efficient and it helps from a dual approach.

Cutting down the queues for those using normal lanes, and allowing regular visitors a faster option.

An outstanding issue maybe the 'permitted to stay' stamp would no longer be present - but, the extension dates on a non-imm visa take care of that anyway so they don't really need a departure and entry stamp.

At the moment it's only for departures.

What makes you think that anything is going to get done?

I've been riding the roads of Thailand for over 20 years, it's always been the same, there's going to be the occasional dangerous challenge.

If you're going to ride a motorbike in Thailand you must be more vigilant, aware of the many obstacles that are thrown at you from time to time.

If I was this American rider, I'd be very embarrassed, I would have kept my mouth shut and hopped back on the bike when recovered, and be more bloody careful next time.

Geeze, it amuses me, foreigners coming to Thailand complaining about road conditions (let the Thais sought out the problems and do the complaining), if you're a foreigner, enjoy the beauty that Thailand has to offer.

It doesn't matter what your age is, if you're Incompetent you're going to have an accident, MANAGE yourself people, stop blaming others, be Accountable.

Next time, take the car or use Bolt.

Yes, I'm expecting the Sad and Confused reactions from those of you that are Not Accountable or Incompetent.

If he really wanted to leave he could have left. There are lots of airlines that are flying to Australia, but he might have to do a few layovers to get out. There are flights leaving on 22 January if you use Google travel.

Exactly  I flew into Thailand on October to see my family and returned to Australia December.Registered with the Australian embassy in Bangkok.

They have repatriation flights every Sunday until march 2021.

    With Thai or Singapore Airlines.

They did say if you knock back a flight.you will be removed of the list.

Something more to this story he could've come back long ago if he really wanted to.

Went to Amphoe (Mae Chan - Chiangrai Province) today to apply for the yellow book (house registration book for "farangs")!
They asked me to translate the stamp of my 1 year visa in my passport (it's in English!) Into Thai!

produced by a translation agency (travel agency or lawyer or similar)

and then for the application I need 2 witnesses and the Puyai-Baan, where I live, who have to sign for me!

does anyone have the same experience?

Thank you for any helpful advice!

When the yellow book is done I can apply for the Pink ID card for Farangs!

Each province has its own rules. But you should also get pink ID card at the Sam time.

And yes I had to take 2 witnesses. But did not have to translate my visa stamp.

  5. I have a valid re entry permit until jan2021. Applied for COE. In Australia.

Had to show marriage cert and supplied childrens birth certificate.

I was assured that it would be ok.

But at the 11th hour. I was asked to apply for spouse visa. As they might not let me in.

I did as I was asked and now in Bkk ASQ.

Rather than have problems. Risk missing flight and changing dates and re applying for covid test and all that goes with it.

    Canberra Embassy were very helpful.

  6. If you are willing to run around you can get new plates and register your vehicle in a day.

The Dealers get the car on floor plan. So they dont have to pay for the car90 days to the factory. So they dont report the sale so they dont have to pay for vehicle straight away. This is how they generate cash flow.

I have purchased 3 cars 2 motorcycle.  And registered myself .
