Covid-19 tests are only done by the South African Health services on persons displaying COVID-19
symptoms together with a comprehensive list of people he/she has been in contact with during the previous 14 days. So, not that easy to get. Am checking to see if there are private clinics who can perform these tests.
The "free to fly" cert/letter. Permission to board ones flight will rest solely with the results of ones health check at the airport?? If yes, then why the need for the "free to fly" cert.

Thailand is currently listed as #6 or #7 worst polluters, in the world, of the ocean (depending on source). Am pleased to see they're going plastic free for one day. Should contribute greatly to keeping the oceans clean. Supermarkets and convenience stores in China no longer dish out plastic carrier bags.

Mainland Chinese couples can only be legally married in China.

In Thailand, the law courts see theft as a very serious offence, often meting out sentences to guilty parties, far more severe than somebody taking another person's life.
If a thief gets caught here and prosecuted, if it is done during the hours of darkness, as opposed to during daylight hours, the sentence is so much more severe !
Except of course if you steal paintings from a Kyoto hotel.

Good to see that doing illegal U turns still not an offence so not listed on the gripe and fine list.

30-year-old tattoo artist Wuthipong Phoomkokrat, insisted he got as far as removing his pants before being kicked by the woman.
For what purpose would he be removing his pants ??? is this not an admission of intent ??

This actually made the national TV news, even had the police video. A bunch of confused old folks playing Bridge.
Unclear what crime was committed, anyone know?
The offense relates to Section 8 of the Playing Cards Act of 1935 which states that an individual is not allowed to possess more than 120 playing cards at any one time. At the Bridge event, considerably more than 120 playing cards were found by officers.
The law says "per individual"......not per group.

And at Chiang Mai gate traffic lights and further down the moat road by the hospital. On both sides. Talk about providing false information.I have yet to come across a single pedestrian crossing in CM that has automated lights that permit a pedestrian to safely cross the road.
Outside the school in Huay Keow Road.
Look for yourself.
Those are automated ie computer controlled or hand operated ???

Do pedestrians still not have "right of way" over vehicles, as in most countries?
Not in CM it would seem.

A six week training period for these teachers will really do the trick........

I flew THAI on Sunday to Japan and can confirm that in-flight services have definitely deteriorated
which rather sad.
Most probably my last trip with them.

Maybe the Thais should ask their Chinese counterparts on how best to handle the corruption issue. Chinas anti-corruption campaign is pretty efficient and sentences ruthless. I guess the Chinese are more committed to wiping out or at least minimizing corruption.
Chinese tourists will return to Thailand in October - "great opportunity" say tourism chiefs

That's the news I got from my son in China last week. China are extending "closed" borders for a further year.
