Well, one should always have travel insurance. However, they are requiring COVID treatment cover for those travellers going onwards to a country requiring a negative COVID test prior to entry.

Travelling from Pattaya to the Philippines just to pick up the new chip ATM card... ?! This is exactly what I want to avoid. The OTP SMS seems to work again now.
Problem was that the account gets dormant after 2 years. So desperately I looked for an option to create a movement. Before I could online only transfer inside Metrobank. So I always transferred every 2 years (donated) a small amount to UNESCO - they have an account there. Of course I could have transferred some money from Thailand. But I am thinking to close this account completely. And now there seems to be an option to do this without going there. I simply transfer everything to Thailand and then it will be closed automatically.
Do you know if it is a problem nowadays to open an account on the Philippines? Just in case if I would need one again in the future.
U have to be resident in the pp and only after 3 years of living there u can open an account I am here now on a tourist visa and enquired .That's the answer I got from the bank

Proton, you missed a zero out, it is closer to 400 quid a week.
This is the same government that said my parents could live on 160 pounds a week pension after working all their lives, and fighting a war to keep U.K. free....
Totally agree chap can't live on my pension. Might just nip over the water and come back in a dinghy. Problem solved.loads of money

People here whine to no end about having to do "90 Day Reports" as it is. Imagine the amount of cheese that would be needed if they had to go to Immigration every 60 days instead !
I thought it was easier in the Philippines. Some immigration do a 6 months at a time depending where ur based

Looks like the Philippines is the place to go now. Screw Thai immigration hassles. Who in their right mind wants to put up with the immigration hassles in Thailand..
