  1. I'm now living in chiang mai. However my plan is to stay in Pattaya or Krabi from February through March /April... Because of the smokey season in Chiang Mai. My non o based on retirement is due March 2. I plan on renewing when I'm at the beach. When I return to Chiang Mai and do my first 90 days will this  raise any eyebrows?

  2. I haven't seen any DTV application failures! Not here and not an Facebook. Everybody is a success. Really?

If I apply... Plonk down 10k thb or more... If I'm not successful I lose that money. I assume.

I live here in a non o based on retirement...i can switch no problem? But I'm not supposed to work with my current visa. Now all of a sudden I'm working as a digital nomad because I have a few websites... Which is true... But my income comes from pension funds. My intuition says stick with my non o visa. Thoughts?

and the unit I looked at was on the mosque side.

Oops. Shades of Krabi coming back to me... So that mosque shouts out that call to prayer routine 2x a day?

  4. I've been looking at condos to rent in both buildings.. Floral and Rim Ping... I've only seen rooms in floral so far.

25k for about 100 Sq meters with a fantastic view on floor 15 is good value in my mind. Compared to 20/25k per month for a 45 Sq m condo in Peak or Astra 555

The condo rentals were managed by the condo management... Rent is non negotiable. I can swap furniture from their stock. Interesting setup

Any comments.. Pros and cons? Cheers

Must be a lot of skint expats rolling on the bar floors laughing their butts off right now and ordering a bottle of the "good beer" for a change instead of their normal small glass of cheap draft.

And a lot of "digital nomad" (aka "begpackers") who will now be able to buy a skewer of BBQ chicken to go with their half order of rice once a day.
All they have to do is show a "slip" from their employer and show that they have basically just over $14,000 US in "assets" - somewhere in the world and they are good for a year.

Are you jealous or just a miserable person? I can't tell which ...

I will be in Chiang Mai in February and the first half of March.  I am considering renting a studio apartment in Nakornping.  I know the Nakornping studios are a little smaller than the one I used to live in at Hillside 4, but other than that they were acceptable, and I like the location.  Is there anything about life in Nakornping that I should know before I put down a deposit?

    Thanks for any help.

Oh. 5555. You got zero replies. Odd. I thought this would be a good thread. Wrong 555.

Did you move into that place? I'm wondering exactly the same. Are lifts working now 555?
