Thanks, I prefer the crop. I had to acknowledge a warning before I could answer your comment, a couple of weeks ago I was suspended for 24 hours for showing a link to my blog. Things have not changed much in 60 years, I remember at school I used to have to stand facing the corner for being naughty, same rules here it seems.
No worries, happy snapping Mr Vagabond
There is a tendency to overthink with photography IMO. People get caught up with gear and settings too much, the only thing that matters is the actual image. Your pic taken behind the guys with the suckers sign gives so much more than the normal generic cliched shots that everyone has seen a million times before. Thanks for posting and sorry to hear about your problems with the forum moderators.

Looks like there will be more people at Vientiane and Savannakhet getting single entry tourist visas in the near future. They are good for 60 days then extend for another 30 days. Rinse and repeat until they say you have too many then get a new passport.
The METV requirements are total overkill, and are much more like Non-Immigrant applications than easy to complete tourist visas. Can't see this lasting long before more changes are made.

For all the detailed information offered, we are missing the most crucial detail - the guys age.
I am thinking 25-30
Anyone staying in Thailand long term at that age is completely wasting their time IMO.
Why waste your premium money earning years in Thailand, scraping by with a few pennies just to put food on the plate?
This guy might have a job lined up in the future, but still, every year of decent (western country) wages thrown away is money you cannot make once you hit older age.
Go back home and work fulltime until at least the age of 40
and in doing so, make sure you have some security/assets/funds behind you before you stay ling term in Asia.
Eveyone asks what is it with all the farang balcony divers in Thailand.
I think this guy is a pretty good example where it starts, and its not a good example to be sending to younger people in the west.
Best post in the thread by far.
I've met many guys around the bars who came to live Thailand when they were far too young.
The majority regretted it, and were hopelessly stuck in a vicious cycle of trying to live in Thailand whatever the cost.
Make your money in the West, and spend it in the East is the best policy.
FWIW I don't think the story is genuine, too many glaring errors, but it's an interesting topic nonetheless.

At many motobike accidents I have seen the moto taxi guys are always first to give a helping hand.
I went flying over the bonnet of a taxi here in Bangkok 1 year ago while riding. 4 moto taxis stopped and helped.. Dispite what many say some are great guys in my experience..
Sent from my c64
You're right. Without the moto taxi guys it would have been much different I think.

Like ur vids normally they are different. The Krabi boat one I had to turn off quick though as the over-editing made it unwatchable. gl

Watched pretty much all his vids for the last 3 years. Normally good quality feel good factor videos. Usually make you feel hungry too. The latest vids in Vietnam I'm not liking so much, a bit repetitive and long IMHO.

I walk against the traffic usually; sometimes it can't be helped though. I've been amazed how close cars skim past people with no consideration for them walking in our soi.

Seen this recent video about a motorbike crash. Many motorists are driving through the crash scene. Motorbike taxi drivers are doing more work than the police. Surprising or normal? What do you think?

Get a better mentor, if I were you.

Also, if you have any illusions about Thai women in general, the depth of stubbornness they will go to is quite remarkable.

I agree and i think anymore performances like that and we will be back to a four, out of interest if we did and everyone was fit what would be your team?
Smalling is showing signs of confidence now.
Rooney was played to deep again against Yeovil.
Falcao looked knackered.
Falcao has failed to impress up to now, hope he can find his form as he is one of the best strikers around.
Rooney is being played deep to try him as a midfielder of which he is not, Wilson failed to impress too, have high hopes for this lad from what I have seen of him in the reserves.
All's good we are in the next round all that matters.
Falcao is not Utd material. He's a Van Nistelrooy type poacher who won't be around next season. It was more of a punt on transfer deadline day to snap him up.

can you fly in, get visa exempt, without onward ticket?
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

I got grilled by Etihad recently flying Manchester to Bkk with no onward travel booked. Just stay polite and friendly and tell them clearly what your itinerary is (eg. intend to get tourist visa from Laos after 2 weeks). They may ask a supervisor to double check.

BritTim's advice about indemnity forms is good to know for the future.
Airasia flights can be booked for around 1000 baht and written off as a last resort.
I'd also make sure you arrive at the airport early to checkin just in case.
