If you are a resident on a retirement visa, I am assuming that if you are out if your province, ie away from your house where you can self isolated, that the same circumstances applie?

That is not all it takes.... policing and punishment for those who break driving regulations needed.
Phew now that would take the fun out.. nah. Love using any lane etc 555

I find it frustrating as an attempt at a solution is readily available.
We have all seen them glued to the TV watching their white bkk based soaps. They can't stay away..
All it takes is what Europe does. Adverts on road safety etc. If u r from the uk everyone remembers the Green Cross code.. etc. It would be a good way to drum it home to Thais.

Sadly you need one for it to be copied, however once you have paid for your mistake a good key cutting place can make new, if you have the old, for max 200thb. Get 2 copies made once you have an original.

Total PR stunt.. no way would he pay a fine. No way would anyone dare to suggest it if he actually did need to..

I use LUMA after researching them all.
I am 71 and had severe back surgery in the USA 8 years ago, so my insurance is quite expensive. While with Luma I also had kidney stone surgery and they paid 220,000 bht and covered it 100%.
I would be very careful on whom you select. I chose Luma because they have an office near my house on Silom. I am insured at 33 hospitals in Bangkok and all the top 5 hospitals. also insured for 32 million bht.
Response time is very FAST.
You must be paying a fortune?

I take it non in power have ever attempted to manoeuvre one of these "farm trucks" with suspension from a horse and cart and so top heavy that they roll over at 60, never mind 120. Good luck to all you "truck" drivers. Unless for real work, never understood why anyone would drive such a dangerous vehicle by choice.

All saying first class insurance.. I used to have it. Did not renew for second year as was told you will never get more than 50% of cost of bike even if its a day old. Worth looking into.

Your buying s farm vehicle. You gonna work on a farm? No. Your gonna need a truck to move all your stuff? Twice.
Into and out of the house.
Why buy a vehicle that us s terrible as a truck? Lethal suspension and top heavy. Why on earth would anyone want one of these vrap things?

As long as people can still drink at a concrete table with a chess board on it, half the forum should be okay.
Our local guy has stopped us drinking outside his shop. Mind you sometimes there are 14 of us with fans, glasses and ice so almost an outside bar.

So unless you have a smart phone you can't come in then?

Madness to let covid into Thailand. They have been sooo lucky with the level it reached here so they don't understand just how devastating a full blown infection could be to the country.. i know lack of tourism is impacting upon businesses but allowing covid in would be far far worse for Thailand in the long run than keeping it out.

When he dies the State pension dies with him because he was living in Thailand.
This is not true. A friend passed this year. His thai wife is now getting 15000 thb a month from the uk. She has never set foot in the uk BUT they were married for 20 years. He was in his early 70's so married prior to gov changes that now excludes overseas wives getting a widows pension.

When I went to Jomtien for my initial retirement visa in 2016, I talked to the IO back in room 7 (I believe) and she explained I could do this mountain of paperwork, all in Thai, which included several trips to Bangkok or pay her 19k baht and I'd receive a 15-month visa, extension of stay, and multi re-entry. I had the money in her hand
18k for your initial R visa is a good price. Well worth it.. extensions should be 12k...

Make sure you fully understand anabolic you get. Do NOT believe the "you have 2 million thb cover" as you will not have. I had a px policy stating 1.5 million of cover. It paid 220k of my 1 million bill having been taken out by an uninsured bike rider.
All have max payments for each segment ie .. 200k for operations, max x days of cover for icu and nights stay in hospital. Read and understand all aspects of the policy you get.
