  1. For some reason their are now lots of appointments available for Savannakhet. 6 days out of a possible 9 days have availability 😀
  2. That's fantastic Liquorice, very much appreciated. So, I could actually apply halfway through my 1st re-entry if its 45 days before my permission to stay expires? Just thinking it gives me more time to sort any issues that arise. I had the under consideration stamp completely wrong in my head. I thought it was just a date to return to get your decision but from what you have said it is actually an extension to your current permission to stay. So I don't need a 60 day extension to visit my wife. 👍 I take it the 400k in the bank does not have to be foreign sourced? Do they continue to do home visits after the first year?
  3. Thanks for the info Rob. I'm going to try Savannakhet for the multi Non O marriage again i think. Then plan for a retirement Non O next year.
  4. I think you are understanding correctly, that is exactly what i was hoping to do. If i can't do that then I probably can't do the yearly extension. I only stay in Thailand 18 days per trip, not enough time for the under consideration period. Would a retirement extension be possible within 18 days?
  5. It used to be in the city center but it moved a couple of years ago to the road to the west of the city. Not been to the new one yet. https://maps.app.goo.gl/hikZhFM2gMv8hkgG9
  6. Good to hear they are helpful mate, thanks. The Savannakhet appointment debacle is why I an considering going the extension route. Its not to bad to get a Thursday or Friday appointment but you have to stay the weekend.
  7. Thanks for your reply Dr Jack. So you think it is possible, that's great as i thought i was missing something that would make it a no can do. I will take on board your suggestion about O retirement. I may still go the Savannakhet route this year and reassess marriage/retirement extension next year. I will go visit Immigration and ask what they require next time I'm home.
  8. I was planning to get another Non O Multi Entry based on marriage from Savannakhet but I may try a different route. Not sure this will work though. I am a UK national working offshore in the UK, 2 on 3 off rota, in my late 50's. I have just applied for a single Non O marriage evisa from London. My plan is to get a multi entry permit and apply for the marriage extension in the middle of my 3rd trip to Thailand which would be a week or so until the visa expires. Get an extension for marriage, 60 days, at the same time and another re entry permit. Hopefully the under review date I have to go back will be in my next trip home to Roi Et (4 weeks later). I have the 400k in the bank. Are Roi ET Immigration flexible regarding dates to visit us at our home and when I have to return for the extension decision etc. ? Have i missed anything? Will it work?
  9. Im not sure about Penang and HCMC tbh. I just search the forum and i thought they were still available but maybe not. Hopefully someone will put us right. Definitely something dodgy going on with appointments at Savannakhet. I emailed the consulate today about it but doubt i will get any response. If you could let me know if you get any luck with an agent it would be greatly appreciated
  10. Yeh, the online booking is a joke. I tried at 00:01 and got a YELLOW box instead of red or green and it let me start to book an appointment. Wether it would be successful i dont know but i doubt it. Went back at 00:02 and all appointments full. As Vientiane does not do the ME visa it looks like i will be going to Penang or HCMC.
  11. Many thanks. Are the finantials the same as Savannakhet in Vientiane, 400k in Thai bank 2 months prior?
  12. Has anyone actually managed to get an online booking time slot yet? I dont need to renew until July but have been checking the website every day to see how difficult it is to get a booking. I have never seen a slot available. I even checked at 01:30am but it was already fully booked for 2 weeks time. I will have to try midnight i suppose as that seems to be when the availability for 2 weeks time begins. Anywhere else still doing the ME Non O based on marriage?
  13. And when was the bank letter issued please? Great report BTW, many thanks
  14. Is this Monday to Friday only or can you go weekends?
  15. I have tried searching but can not find any reports on here of people being given a single because of money seasoning. No financials yes, but not money seasoning. Could you say where you saw these reports please? I am due to go to renew my ME visa in July so still have time (Embassy told me 2 months seasoning but no seasoning is better) Thanks
  16. Yes, I have seen that also. That's why I think there is a slim chance of them accepting a foreign bank account as well but in official correspondence they stick to the official line (Thai Bank, 2 months). I don't live far from the border so I may go and try it with uk bank details before my visa expires, leaves me time to go again later with Thai bank account.
  17. They are saying Thai Bank only. Its possible they will accept a foreign bank account unofficially and don't want to acknowledge this in an official email reply but I doubt it. I have replied again saying I don't have a Thai bank account as I live and work in the UK and use this visa to visit my Thai wife and child multiple times a year so is it possible to use a UK bank? See what they say but I'm not hopeful.
  18. The report by Tod Daniels (quoting contacts in the visa run business to Savannakhet) is the only confirmation I can find that foreign bank accounts are acceptable. I can find no confirmation from anyone that has actually done it or been refused using money in a foreign bank. My MENO runs out in June so it would be nice to get confirmation from someone who has actually done it before I go. I emailed the Consulate last night for clarification so I will let you know what they say.
  19. Thanks Sheryl, I will go to Bangkok 👍
  20. Ahh ok, thanks Sheryl. I don't suppose there are any hospitals around the Roi Et or Khon Kaen area that you would recommend? Would make things a lot easier.
  21. Thanks for the advice Sheryl. I will try the early OPD clinic the day after I arrive. In the meantime I will try to get an appointment booked somehow, maybe ask my wife to call them. Cant get the online booking system page to open here in the UK (maybe the firewall at work)
  22. Hi all, I am looking for information on how to access services at the IOD. I had a new lesion appear on my nose about 1 year ago. I got it assessed at Boots Chemist in the UK (Screen Cancer UK) and received the following diagnosis: Test: Molescan-1 Result: Other skin lesion to follow up Comment: R nose. This lesion has a benign appearance on dermoscopy, but it is not possible to give a definite diagnosis. It is probably something called a fibrous papule. I would consider removal for a biopsy to clarify. Suggest GP referral to dermatology for further assessment. I work in the UK offshore on a 2 on, 3 off rota, and have booked all my flights to Thailand for the next 5 months so it will be a hassle for me to get it looked at in the UK. I live in Roi Et and have to travel through Bangkok anyway, so i thought getting it looked at by the Institute of Dermatology would be the best solution (especially as the ever helpful Sheryl has recommended them on a previous post). So my question is, how do I go about it? Turn up at 6am and join a queue? Go later in the day? Book an appointment some how? Any advice from anyone with experience of using the service would be greatly appreciated 🙏
