    Things have changed.

For the multi seasoning is required (previously not the case)

Few reports where guys have attended for multi and without seasoning have been give single entry non O (90 day)

I have tried searching but can not find any reports on here of people being given a single because of money seasoning.

No financials yes, but not money seasoning.

Could you say where you saw these reports please?

I am due to go to renew my ME visa in July so still have time (Embassy told me 2 months seasoning but no seasoning is better)

    Thanks

It seems those who have obtained a Non-O at Sav have not had to have 400k in the bank for 2 months..........

Yes, I have seen that also. That's why I think there is a slim chance of them accepting a foreign bank account as well but in official correspondence they stick to the official line (Thai Bank, 2 months). I don't live far from the border so I may go and try it with uk bank details before my visa expires, leaves me time to go again later with Thai bank account.

  3. They are saying Thai Bank only.

Its possible they will accept a foreign bank account unofficially and don't want to acknowledge this in an official email reply but I doubt it. I have replied again saying I don't have a Thai bank account as I live and work in the UK and use this visa to visit my Thai wife and child multiple times a year so is it possible to use a UK bank?

See what they say but I'm not hopeful. Screenshot_20240326_090321_Gmail.thumb.jpg.47a3a3ed93381eaeef8533fc4b0c17bb.jpg

  4. The report by Tod Daniels (quoting contacts in the visa run business to Savannakhet) is the only confirmation I can find that foreign bank accounts are acceptable.

I can find no confirmation from anyone that has actually done it or been refused using money in a foreign bank.

My MENO runs out in June so it would be nice to get confirmation from someone who has actually done it before I go.

I emailed the Consulate last night for clarification so I will let you know what they say.

Not sure that this adds anything to Sheryl's excellent advice? Anyway for what it's worth.

My wife attended the walk-in evening clinic at the Institute last Tuesday re a lesion. She waited for about an hour to be examined and was given an appointment for removal of the lesion (last) Thursday (2 days later; no biopsy necessary in her case).  Good luck.

    Thanks for the info

There are 2 options, the regular public channel and the after hours clinic.

However if they agree need for biopsy, will likely not do it in after hours clinic and refer you to public clinic on another day anyhow (that is what happened to me...wasted a 5 hour wait and 500 baht fee in the after hours clinic only to be directed to public channel on the following day. Well maybe not complete waste as I did get a fixed appointment  for the next day which might otherwise have taken more  time to arrange.).

My advice is to just show up by 7 AM, go to the OPD (I think 8th floor but double-check). Get a number and wait. Bring plenty of reading material.

It is a government hospital so things are not quick, and if they decide you need a biopsy appointment for that would likely be on a different day, and wait time to get biopsy results is about a month.  Regarding appointment dates it is possible to negotiate a bit if they try to give you one many days or weeks hence - explain that you do not live in Bangkok etc.

I paid 700 baht for the excision & biopsy, public channel

Thanks for the advice Sheryl. I will try the early OPD clinic the day after I arrive.

In the meantime I will try to get an appointment booked somehow, maybe ask my wife to call them.

Cant get the online booking system page to open here in the UK (maybe the firewall at work)

  7. Hi all,

I am looking for information on how to access services at the IOD. I had a new lesion appear on my nose about 1 year ago. I got it assessed at Boots Chemist in the UK (Screen Cancer UK) and received the following diagnosis:

    Test: Molescan-1

Result: Other skin lesion to follow up

Comment: R nose. This lesion has a benign appearance on dermoscopy, but it is not possible to give a definite diagnosis. It is probably something called a fibrous papule. I would consider removal for a biopsy to clarify. Suggest GP referral to dermatology for further assessment.

I work in the UK offshore on a 2 on, 3 off rota, and have booked all my flights to Thailand for the next 5 months so it will be a hassle for me to get it looked at in the UK. I live in Roi Et and have to travel through Bangkok anyway, so i thought getting it looked at by the Institute of Dermatology would be the best solution (especially as the ever helpful Sheryl has recommended them on a previous post).

So my question is, how do I go about it?

Turn up at 6am and join a queue?

    Go later in the day?

    Book an appointment some how?

Any advice from anyone with experience of using the service would be greatly appreciated 🙏

  8. I also got a Multiple Entry Non O based on marriage from Savanakhet on June 13/14th. Just to confirm the price for the Laos visa is 2000 baht, better to do evisa as much less hassle.

I was also asked for the wife's name change certs. One for ms to mrs and one for surname change so 2 docs.

They didn't ask for the divorce thing (KR2) but the wife always comes with me and and they always speak to her.

Wife passport is mentioned as required but I'm sure I have done it before without and no issue.

  9. I agree that online bank account print outs should be acceptable.  I also submitted 3 years P60's and 6 months wage slips that are all printed from online documents as that is the only format they exist. If I wanted to forge a document I could do it just as easily from an original as from an online print out so I don't see the point.

Visa application was submitted Friday so I will let you know the outcome asap. If it is successful we won't know it the bank statements were ok or if they were not but the combination of financial documents was deemed acceptable.

You might want to check that your parents' letter doesn't actually invite you to "live" with them, as that could be read that you're planning to remain there!  Otherwise your list looks good to me.  I'll be applying for my wife's visa in the next few weeks, so it's always good to see what others include in their application.  Presumably your wife doesn't work but is totally supported by you?  Are your bank statements from a Thai or UK bank, and, if the latter, are they online statements?

She did work until about March this year but gave it up because she was taking too much time off as we travel a lot.

Bank statements are from a UK bank and are online statements.

    Hopefully this is acceptable?

I do have an account at Kbank but not much money. I tend to just transfer money to this account for monthly living expenses.

  11. Update.

OK, i am now ready to apply.

Application form filled in and appointment with VFS Friday.

    I have:

All 3 of her passports, she has been outside Thailand 15 times in the last 10 years. All for just a few days holiday (Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia, Maldives).

My passport and previous passport. Previous passport got water damaged in May so some entry stamps are not legible.

3 years of condo contracts in Bangkok, latest one expires Aug 2018.

    Marriage cert and translation.

3 years P60 tax return from the UK (me)

    3 months bank statements (me)

All 8 flight itineraries we have booked together in the last year, 6 internal, 1 KL and 1 Maldives.

1 pic of wedding, i have loads but not sure how many to submit.

    Still to do:

Letter from me explaining our relationship and our itinerary in the UK. Going for just over 1 month and visiting family in Essex and day trips to London. May venture further afield by why complicate things in the letter!

Also explaining my job (work 2/3 offshore in the UK) and that I have been in Thailand every month for over 3 years. Its where we want to live and we have no intention of living in the UK (all true).

Letter from my parents inviting us/her to live with them.

Can anyone think of anything else to include?

As some of the Thai immigration stamps are illegible i could print out all the airline itineraries for the flights i have booked to Thailand for the past 3 years but its a lot of paper and not sure its worth it.

I have not included any of her bank details or the house she owns as its not really relevant. We don't live in her house and i provide the money.

  12. I went to Saint Louis yesterday to have a cyst removed from my armpit. I had it removed 4 years ago in the UK but it grew back and was causing me some pain as it had become infected again. The surgery in the UK was pretty horrendous (i felt everything, very painful) so i was not looking forward to having more of the same.

Arrived at 12:30, registered at reception and was directed to the surgery department. Arrived at the surgery dept at 12:45. Checked my weight and blood pressure. Called to see the doctor at 13:30. Quick look and i explained the history. He said can remove it now if i wish. I asked the cost and after referring to the nurse he said about 4000 baht which i thought ok.

The injections were a bit sore but after the first 2 i didn't feel a thing. Took about 30 mins in all.

Given a slip of paper for antibiotics and the nurse escorted me round to the cashier/pharmacy.

Total price including antibiotics was 3100 baht which i though very reasonable considering the excellent service i received.

I can highly recommend Saint Louis for this type of procedure.
