  1. I originally came to Thailand 10 years ago on a 3 week golfing holiday,

The first thing I did was join the Pattaya Sports Club ( PSC ) this gives you discounts at all the golf courses in the area.

The next thing was to check out the local golf society's/bars who organize golf on a daily basis these can be found in the Pattaya Mail published every Friday.

I chose to play with Lewiinski's as they were most helpful in getting my PSC membership, plus very easy to get to as they are located in Soi 13/3 just off Beach Road just before you get to Walking St. check out their website lewiinskis.com They also have a very good restaurant & bar.

Hope you enjoy your golfing stay in Pattaya

  2. Now this Road has been widened will the Police keep it clear of parked car/pick-up's/motorbikes etc.

To enable traffic to flow freely?

They have already marked the kerb with red & white stripes for 3/4 of it's length but it is still used as a car park\

    Anybody got any idea's

  3. Give LEWIINSKI'S a try 50 Yards from Beach Road Soi 13/3 two Soi's before Walking Street.

Very popular with the golfing commuinty.

Good fair priced European & Thai food.No bar girls but beautiful waitresses

    Good luck,

  4. Hi Guys,

Can anyone tell me if where cable TV is available in other parts of Thailand and Euro football is is shown without purchasing a box from Grammy, and paying a license fee . is it breaking the law as it appears to be in Pattaya.

A bar I know has been fined 40,000 Baht for having the football on ,although this was without the knowledge of the owner, who was approached to buy a license but declined as in the early hours of the morning it would not attract any custom .

The reason the bar is open is to allow residents staying in the hotel access to the rooms above the bar.& the night porter was watching the game with some motorbike taxi drivers who were not customers. .

  5. Try Lewiinski's in Soi 13/3 off Beach Road .

Clubs available to hire for 300 Baht .They play 4 times week and can provide transport.

Plus very good food in restaurant and a good crowd of blokes.

Just pop in the bar and put your name on the posted lists

  6. Hi I have lived & played golf in Pattaya for the last 6 years or so , I would reccomend Pattaya as a destination as most of the courses here in excellent condition and are within 45/50 mins. drive from the City.

You are correct in thinking that golf here is cheaper than Chang Mai but you must join the Pattaya Sports Club as they have preferred rates at all the local courses.

Many bars play on a regular basis every week and in the local papers you can see where they are playing.

I play with Lewiinski's this bar play 4 times a week in the high season they play Sun, Mon, Wed & Fri. they also have their own mini-buses, a very good restaurant, plus accomodation, although not sure if they have vacances in the hotel, as their rates are very competative, and very friendly staff.

Hope you enjoy your golf in Thailand.

  7. Still expensive. many cheaper a/c places to drink it which have their own toilets

You can get a great Pint of Guinness in Lewiinski's Soi 13/3 for 190 and cheaper in happy hour which lasts all day untill 7PM plus the food is first class try the fish & chips or sausage & mash

  8. This morning at about 8:30 I drove along Beach Road & returned along 2nd Road about an hour later on both roads 2 or 3 sets of the 15 sets of lights were active and on both journeys I saw many cars & baht taxis ignore the red stop light and drive straight through on both occasions there were no pedestrians on the crossings ,but would it make a difference if there were ???

The POLICE need to enforce the rules of safety , before somebody dies crossing the road.

  9. Thanks everybody for the input I will make sure I research the figures well.

I have had a long talk with the cashier, and it cetainly makes money in the high season, but it is a long low season, will keep you all posted as to the outcome.

  10. How is the location? Is it in plain view of a well trafficked area? Are there other shops close by?

Most guys hate noisy massage parlors.

Does it have curtained off areas, or separate partitions? Will you be playing proper soft massage music? Will you have a 'please keep conversations at a whispered tone' sign?

Ask customers to turn off cell phones.

    Use nice smelling oil.

Have a cistern of Chinese tea.

Make sure that the shower tiles are not slippery.

There are many massage joints in Pats, and low season is almost here. This translates to less cash, so your place would need to stand out.

Remember, that this is not a 'family' destination, so a traditional, and well managed parlor may not do as well as it could in more conservative areas.

    IMHO.

Thanks for suggestions,in answer to questions . Yes it is in a good area with shops bars and restaurants and hotels plus appartments there would be soft music nice smelling ois etc.

Not sure about turning off the phones, there are two floors with good showers & toilet facilities.

  11. :rolleyes:Hi everybody,

I wonder if anyone can give me any information on taking over an existing shop as a going concern what are the pitfalls.

Has anyone had experiance, with costs involved licences etc, maybe add a beauty salon.

    Any help would be appreciated.

  12. I can confirm your worst fears .We sell draught Gunness in our bar and have an account with the importers and we have been told by them that they are stopping importing it.

There is not enough demand in Thailand to make it worthwhile plus the duty on it is to be increased !!!!!!!!

  13. Try Lewiinski's in Soi 13/3 great draght Guinness and draught Asahi at 50 baht no smoking in bar but can sit out side also very good food plus BBQ & Buffet twice a week , spend over 250 baht and get free entry into snowball draw.

  14. Hi Further to your request concerniing golf in Pattaya your best option is to go down to Lewiinski's Golf bar in Soi 13/3 off Beach Road just before you reach Walking Street and sign up for their golf days transport is provided and they play Sun,Mon,Wed,&friday.

Join up with the Pattaya Sports Club with them and you will have good discounts at all the courses it will be around 1500 Baght each time you play including transport & green fee's, buggy's would be extra , plus the breakfasts are great so is the BBQ on Wed & Sat.
