  1. Hi , I’m after some advice from anyone who has applied for the O Spouse visa from Australia.

Im looking to accompany my wife to Thailand for a three month visit.

We will predominantly stay in her home in the Surin area.
Looking at the requirements I have a couple of questions,

Will her home address satisfy the question of where we will stay.

    This one:

“copy of the visa or work permit of a spouse or parent who is currently working in Thailand”. My wife and I are retired and live in Australia so I can’t fulfill this requirement.

Do I just ignore that part of the application?

The financial aspect, I assume I just show I have money in my bank her in Australia?

    Thanks for any advice

green bus charged me B900 to send a bike and all my belongings in three quite large boxes from surat thani to chiang mai. i had to get the consignment to the bus station and collect from bus station but it did arrive the very next day.

Good idea. I’m in Krabi so it would have to go to Bangkok first then be transferred over to a bus to go to Surin. Not sure if that’s possible?

Last time when I suspended subscription True had the below policy:

True Online customers can request to suspend service twice a year (calendar) and the suspension duration should be less than 90 days, generally suspension period is 30, 60 or 90 days. It is free of charge for the suspension for hi speed Internet in the first month of that year and will be charged 150 Baht/ month from the 2nd month onwards to maintain customer status  (excluded VAT).

Thanks, I did manage to talk to someone who said the same. Max 3 months and it will cost 300 baht

  4. Hi All,

has anyone had experience suspending their home internet when returning to their home country ?

i am returning home for 6 months and am thinking of suspending my internet account with Truemove during this time. Is it a simple matter of calling them to do this and same thing, when I return is it just a case of ringing them to reactivate the account ?

    thanks for any advice

We applied online. It was 4 weeks from the time we applied online, to receiving a notice to go to Bangkok to do the Biometrics, making the appointment for a week later for the Biometrics, completing the Biometrics, getting the notice to send the passport in, sending it in, receiving it back with visa inserted.

Ah ok thanks. I’ve applied for two tourists visas before and after doing the biometrics we just were told it was approved and the visa is in the form of an ‘e visa’ as in, no entry in my wife’s passport. This makes me ask, are they now requiring the passport to be sent in ?  We never had to before . I’m guessing the Australian Embassy is a little different that may explain it.

  6. Hi all,

I’ve applied for a partner visa for my Thai wife back in July. Whilst we are waiting for a decision on the permanent visa we want to travel home to Australia early December to visit family.

Can any advise me how long the processing time for a tourist visa is at the moment and will my wife need to do the biometrics AGAIN considering we had that done back in July ?

    thanks for any advice

Just a suggestion. Why dont you get married in los then again in oz when your eventually there. Its just that I'm thinking you might need few more visits to los. BTW check out the other forum on Thaivisa "visas to other countries".

Marriage in Thailand is recognised by Australia and as such you can’t marry again in Australia

  8. Thanks for your help. Thanks Ray and Millymoo, that’s sounds spot on. I rang the lady at Bangkok hospital, 4800 thb for Permanent VISA. Looking at the forms yes it’s all sent directly to immigration.

Still can’t work out what a HAS statement is.

i know they will want a Royal Thai Police Check done in Bangkok but from what I see they haven’t requested it yet. Bit of an inconvenience as I could have done it all at the same time as we have to fly etc. to Bangkok
