We are applying to the Thai Embassy in Canberra Australia

Thanks Ubonjoe ????

Hi , I’m after some advice from anyone who has applied for the O Spouse visa from Australia.
Im looking to accompany my wife to Thailand for a three month visit.
We will predominantly stay in her home in the Surin area.
Looking at the requirements I have a couple of questions,Will her home address satisfy the question of where we will stay.
This one:
“copy of the visa or work permit of a spouse or parent who is currently working in Thailand”. My wife and I are retired and live in Australia so I can’t fulfill this requirement.
Do I just ignore that part of the application?
The financial aspect, I assume I just show I have money in my bank her in Australia?
Thanks for any advice

I believe the waiting times in the public hospital system are 3 months +
hence the private hospital

Hi all,
I’m looking for a recommendation regarding a reputable modern private hospital in the Surin area.
Wife needs a mammogram and ultrasound procedure.
thanks in advance

Are you sending a bike or just boxes? It's a big difference.
It will be boxed items

green bus charged me B900 to send a bike and all my belongings in three quite large boxes from surat thani to chiang mai. i had to get the consignment to the bus station and collect from bus station but it did arrive the very next day.
Good idea. I’m in Krabi so it would have to go to Bangkok first then be transferred over to a bus to go to Surin. Not sure if that’s possible?

Post (not EMS) is cheaper.
Chances that she will actually get the things are higher with Kerry, especially if she has previously received things from Kerry, using the same address and phone number.
Thanks, p.s. what is EMS ?

As a result of ending my lease, I have some bigger items I wish to send back to my wife’s village. A small flat screen tv, little sound system, some helmets and nick nacks etc. anyone know the cheapest way to send them ?

Just a suggestion. Why dont you get married in los then again in oz when your eventually there. Its just that I'm thinking you might need few more visits to los. BTW check out the other forum on Thaivisa "visas to other countries".
Marriage in Thailand is recognised by Australia and as such you can’t marry again in Australia

Question: For the purposes of this visa, can the money be in a joint account, that is , both husband and wife’s name ?

Am I correct in thinking that as I will be exiting Thailand in November, I will have to obtain a permit to re-enter so as to keep my extended visa valid ?

Ok thanks for that

Hi, after some advice. I currently have a visa based on retirement which I extended to the 4th of
December 2018 ( original expiry was January but I re- entered Thailand). I have a pension and have read that the Australian embassy will issue a document to present to immigration. I will be visiting the embassy in Bangkok for another purpose in the first week of August this year. If I get the document to show my pension at that time will it be accepted by immigration when I go to extend my visa in November, being 3 months after it was issued ?
thanks in advance for any advice

ok, so to update.
Yes everything submitted correctly first time Oct 30, no additional documents were requested, until they finally approved visa on Dec 8 - total waiting time of 39 calendar days.
I have no idea why it took so long and for what it's worth, we've been married over 10 years, 2 children, and she has visited Australia 5 times before (between 2003 to 2015) abiding by visas on each occasion never staying more than 30 days per visit.
Is Australia becoming more difficult for foreigners to get visas ? This was definitely the longest time it's taken to get a visa.
Are you Australian or have a different nationality ? Perhaps this would explain the delay. Just curious ...

Is it normal to be waiting more than a month for a decision? On the website it says 75% to 90% of applications are processed in 16 to 29 days (is that business days or calendar days?). My wife's application is 31 + days now and nothing and no request for additional information.
Doesn't sound right, mine was finalised in a week. Make sure you have finalised and submitted the application once you have provided all the online documents. It's easy to overlook clicking that box to say it's ready for assessment

Completed the process myself last week. After submitting the online application make sure you select confirmed so it's ready to be assessed . Once you have done that you should get the request for biometrics with an email attachment with a letter you take in to trendy. You make an appointment online with trendy for this purpose. You will be give. A list of dates and times to choose from. Good luck. Ps. It takes longer than you think to travel to trendy if your hotel is not nearby as bangkoks traffic is horrendous

Hi, I'm using the Krungsi application on an Apple device to do my internet banking. i haven't ben able to log in for a few days now as it gives the message ..'internet connection error'. I've tried deleting and reinstalling the app but that made no difference.
i was able to access the account online through my Samsung phone app. but now that gives the same message. Anyone else had a similar problem. The internet is working fine for everything else so ?
Thanks
